**Viskit Bharat Sankalp Yatra IEC Van Reaches Six Panchayats in Samba District**

Samba, Jammu & Kashmir, India, December 7, 2023 - Today, the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Van of Viskit Bharat, an initiative of the Government of India, successfully reached six panchayats across three blocks in Samba district. The primary objective of the IEC Van is to raise awareness and mobilize people regarding various government schemes and programs.

The IEC Van covered the blocks of Patti, Gurha Slathia Lower of Vijaypur block, Panchayat Ratwana and Surara in Ghagwal block, and Panchayat Darui and Moutlian Kallan in Ramgarh block.

The local communities enthusiastically welcomed the IEC Van, appreciating the efforts made by Viksit Bharat IEC Van to disseminate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message to the masses.

To mark this momentous occasion, a grand event was organized at Gurha Slathia Lower. DDC Vijaypur-A Sudarshan Singh Slathia, Sarpanch Gurha Lower Jatinder Singh, and BDO Vijaypur Abhilove Mahajan graced the event with their presence. Samba, December 7, 2023- The Armed Forces Flag Day Fundraising Campaign was launched today in District Samba by the NCC cadets and ZSWO Samba staff.

The campaign aims to raise funds to support the martyrs and war veterans, as well as encourage all citizens of the country to contribute to our national heroes who selflessly safeguard the borders of our nation.

Samba, Dec 7 : Under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, Police has filed charge-sheet in the court of law against four interstate he**in smugglers involved in he**in smuggling/firing at Rangoor Camp, Ramgarh in case FIR No.31/2023 U/S 307,392,34,420,467,468,379 IPC, 3/7/25 Arms Act, 8/21-C/22-C/23-C/25/27-A/29 (I) NDPS Act of PS Ramgarh.

The accused against whom the challan has been produced in the court of law for judicial determination are : 1) Satinderpal Singh s/o Daljinder Singh r/o Rattoke, Gurudwara Bhikh Wind, district Taran Taran Punjab 2) Jagpreet Singh s/o Darwara Singh r/o Madipur tehsil Patti District Taran Taran Punjab 3) Sunny alias Baba s/o Surjeet Singh r/o Guru Nanakpura, Amritsar, Punjab and 4) Neeraj Jaiswal alias Romi s/o Pawan Singh Jaiswal r/o Kahandwala Vikas Nagar Amritsar Punjab.

SSP Samba Benam Tosh had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary having DySP PC Samba Garu Ram Bhardwaj, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, SHO Police Station Ramgarh Amit Kumar and Inspr Sham Lal as members. SIT conducted the investigation in highly professional manner, collected evidence, arrested four accused and has produced the challan of the case in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Samba for judicial determination. However, police has kept the option open for further investigation and supplementary challan.

On the intervening night of 11th and 12th of June 2023, around 0045 hours, 03 he**in smugglers namely Jagpreet Singh, Satinderpal Singh and Sunny alias Baba entered into altercation with the local 08-10 youth at border village Rangoor Camp over a trivial issue of giving pass to the vehicle in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh and during scuffle, smuggler Satinderpal Singh opened fire with pistol upon the local youth due to which 02 local youth sustained bullet injuries. During this scuffle, one of the 03 smugglers, namely Sunny alias Baba also got injured due to gun shot of his accomplice Satinderpal Singh. As the smugglers’ Innova vehicle had been caught by the local youth after firing, smugglers including the injured one fled from the spot using bike belonging to the local youth. In the meanwhile, information had been received through reliable sources to the Police Station Ramgarh regarding the firing incident and Police registered a case FIR No. 31/2023 at Police Station Ramgarh and started investigation. All Nakas across the district were made alert and thus Police Party of Rarian Naka succeeded in apprehending all the 03 smugglers who were fleeing after committing crime. Police arrested interstate he**in smugglers and on their disclosure recovered and seized one pistol with one magazine and 04 live rounds, two pockets of he**in weighing 2.080 KG, cash rupees 93200.00 (Indian Currency), 04 costly mobile phones and 03 used rounds and 01 live round from the scene of crime. Subsequently, one more accused was arrested making the number of arrested accused to four against whom the challan has been produced in the court of law today keeping the option open for further investigation.

*155 Hardcore Criminals Arrested In Ten Months : SSP Samba Benam Tosh*

Samba, Dec 7 : Police have arrested hardcore criminal and recovered ‘ desi Katta’ from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur.

The arrested hardcore criminal has been identified as Vivek Singh s/o Jaswant Singh r/o Pakhri, tehsil Ramgarh, district Samba.

A case FIR No.173/2023 u/s 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation is underway.

On the disclosure of the hardcore criminal, one 12 Bore Single Barrel Rifle has also been recovered by police from the cowshed of his house.

In 2018, hardened criminal Vivek Singh was arrested by police alongwith another accused Aman Slathia of Andrar Mandi, Gurha Slathia in kidnapping and attempt to murder case FIR No.155/2018 u/s 307,366,323,34 RPC of Police Station Vijaypur which stands challaned in the court of law and is still under trial.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that a total of one hundred fifty five (155) hardcore criminals have been arrested by Samba police in past ten months and strong legal action is being taken against the criminals, miscreants and ’gunda’ elements in the district.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities Commemoration Event in Samba.

Samba, December 3, 2023: The Social Welfare Department Samba, in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Samba and NGO Muskan Foundation Samba, orchestrated a significant event today to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The event, held with the aim of raising awareness about welfare schemes and initiatives, saw active participation from various stakeholders committed to enhancing the lives of divyangjans and specially-abled individuals.

DSWO Samba, Mr. Nawaz Sharif, shed light on the diverse welfare schemes provided by the Social Welfare Department, underscoring their pivotal role in uplifting the lives of divyangjans. A representative from DLSA discussed the organization's dedicated efforts towards the welfare of specially-abled individuals.

JAMMU, DEC 3: Newly-appointed Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo today paid obeisance at Baba Ballo Devsthan in Village Mathwar and sought blessings of Babaji. He also performed Pooja and prayed for peace and prosperity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He was accompanied by his wife.

Dulloo holds the distinction of being the first person from Jammu and Kashmir to occupy the top slot in the UT's bureaucracy since 2017, following B R Sharma's tenure from 2015-17.

The Director Fisheries, J&K, Mohammad Farooq Dar conducted an extensive tour of district Samba and district Kathua on 03-12-2023 to monitor the progress of various developments schemes being implemented in the Fisheries Sector. The National Fish Seed Farm, Kathua was also inspected during the tour. The Director appreciated the Integrated Fish farming Unit established at Datta Tallab, Birpur, Purmanadal District Samba where a progressive farmer who has been associated with fish farming activity since 2011 has taken up Integrated fish culture involving Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture activity etc. The farmer has also established a recreational pond which is a source of attraction for the people. Besides earning a handsome income the farmer is also generating employment for the local youth.
The Director delved upon the officers to provide constant hand holding to the existence unit holder so that the more such units come up in the district and the fish production can be enhanced. He stressed that the farmers needs to be encouraged and assisted for starting fisheries projects. The Director also visited Large RAS Unit established in Bari Brahamna District Samba and emphasized that both the District Samba and Kathua has good potential for exploitation of Warm water fisheries and fish production and productivity can be enhanced further in these twin districts by intervention of new technology viz. RAS, Biofloc etc. and by tapping potential water resources ( community ponds) under fish culture.
While interacting with the farmer at Village Jarai of District Kathua who has established a Carp fish pond under PMSSY Scheme the Director impressed that the fish farming with new technology shall help in economic upliftment of the local people besides supplementing quality protein in their diet. The Director instructed the District Officers to identify the potential areas in their district to prioritize setting up of more fish farming units in private sectors under cluster based approached and facilitate organized marketing channels for benefit of the fishers to sell their produce for better returns . The concerned District Officers were directed to disseminate about PMSSSY and other beneficiary orientated schemes under HADP among the general masses.
The Director was accompanied by the team of officers comprising of Chief Project Officer Fisheries, NFSF, Kathua , Assistant Director Fisheries kathua and Assistant Director Fisheries , Samba .

In Jammu & Kashmir, the people are standing with Narendra Modi government as it is taking care of every section of society. In J&K, the next Chief Minister is certainly from BJP, he added.
Raina attributed the peace and progress in all the parts of Jammu & Kashmir and stoppage of Hartal Calls in Kashmir due to the public welfare policies of the Modi government.
"BJP has done unprecedented public welfare works in all fields gaining the trust of people from every region and every religion, particularly the underprivileged and neglected classes", said Raina.
Raina said that the winning trend clearly shows the victory of the developmental agenda and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. People have voted for the BJP for peace, security and development, he added.

*SAMBA POLICE ARRESTED TWO INTER-ZONE HE**IN SMUGGLERS, RECOVERED 'CHITTA' & CASH*

*77 He**in Suppliers Arrested In Ten Months: SSP Samba Benam Tosh*

Samba, Dec 1 : Under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police has arrested two inter-zone he**in smugglers, recovered he**in ('chitta') worth rupees 65,000.00 approx. from their possession and on their disclosure seized cash amounting to rupees 31,000.00 from a hideout of chitta suppliers at infamous chitta hotspot of Balole Khad, Bari Brahmana.

The arrested he**in smugglers have been identified as Rayees Ahmed s/o Abdul Majid r/o Pulwama and Amir Ahmed Sheikh s/o Mohd. Yusuf Sheikh r/o Pulwama.

A case FIR No. 272/2023, u/s 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation is underway.

The inter-zone he**in smugglers entered the infamous ‘chitta’ hotspot of Balole Khad by a private car Swift Dzire at odd hours during previous midnight presuming that the Police might be in fast asleep as weather conditions were also hostile , but quite contrary to the presumption of the he**in smugglers, Police was extra-vigilant and halted them immediately after they came out of the 'chitta' hotspot and got conducted their personal search in the presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class following proper procedure as laid down under NDPS Act, recovered he**in, arrested them, seized car used for he**in smuggling and also seized rupees thirty one thousand on their disclosure from hideout of he**in supplier.

The he**in smugglers have been arrested by police team comprising of SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma, SI Manohar Lal & PSI Vineet Rukwal under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additonal SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that a total of seventy seven (77) narcotic suppliers/smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in past ten months and stringent legal action is being taken and hardcore he**in smugglers & suppliers are being detained under PITNDPSA / PSA also.

Samba, Nov 27 : Hardcore drug peddler arrested by Samba police with seventy nine (79) money garlands & he**in turned out to be a notorious thief who had stolen money garlands from a shop at Banihal and was wanted by Banihal police in theft case.

The arrested hardcore drug peddler identified as Mohd Imran Khan s/o Ashraf Khan r/o Iqbal Colony Pattan Baramulla is reportedly a notorious thief wanted by police at several police stations and police is in constant touch with other police stations to gather more information regarding his criminal conduct.

Samba police had arrested hardcore drug peddler Imran Khan yesterday at Sarore in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana and had seized as many as seventy nine (79) money garlands amounting to rupees 95,880.00 and he**in valuing rupess 45,000.00 approximately after conducting his personal search in the presence of Executive Magistrate Ist Class and Gazetted Police Officer following proper legal procedure under NPDS Act.

As soon as the news regarding his arrest and recovery flashed, Banihal police contacted police authorities of Samba police and informed them regarding the theft of money garlands from a shop situated at Banihal and also shared video clips and photographs.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that there is correlation between he**in consumption & thefts. Drug peddlers and addicts from different corners of J&K are coming to infamous ‘chitta’ hotspots where patrolling has been intensified and police is apprehending the accused under NDPS Act and vagrants under preventive sections of law.

Samba, Nov 26 : Under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police has apprehended seventeen (17) more vagrants who were found roaming near ‘chitta’ hotspots under preventive sections of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana and Police Station Vijaypur.

All the seventeen vagrants were apprehended while wandering suspiciously near infamous ‘chitta’ hotspots of Balole Khad Bari Brahmana, Sarore Bari Brahmana and Rakh Barotian & thus, appropriate preventive legal action has been taken.

The arrests have been made by police teams comprising of SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma, SHO police Station Vijaypur Sandeep Charak, PSI Aaber Khan, PSI Vineet Rakhwal, PSI Nirmal Singh and PSI Vivek Singh under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that a total of ninety two (92) vagrants have been apprehended by police near ‘chitta’ hotspots in past ten months and has appealed to the parents, guardians, teachers and elders of the society to ask senior students and youth to avoid roaming near known ‘chitta’ hotspots as police patrolling has been intensified around suspected hotspots of he**in in Samba district and vagrants are being apprehended.

Samba, Nov 26 : In another major breakthrough, Samba Police has solved jewellery theft case by arresting three accused and recovering stolen gold & silver ornaments.

The arrested accused have been identified as Devinder Singh r/o Rakh Amb Talli, Samba, Hardeep Singh Jamwal r/o Mandi Kotli, Samba and Rakesh Kumar Verma r/o Samba.

On the written complaint of one Rinku Kumar Dixit s/o Sahukar Dixit r/o Uttar Pradesh A/P Rakh Amb Talli, Police had registered a theft case FIR No.281/2023 u/s 454/380 IPC at Police Station Samba through Police Post Rakh Amb Talli and investigation was started.

Investigation is being conducted applying professional methodology including scientific aid to investigation by SHO PS Samba Daljit Singh & Chowki Officer PP Rakh Amb Talli Sohail Munir under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba Bisham Dubey and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that a total of one hundred fifty (150) thieves have been arrested and seventy five (75) theft cases have been solved by Samba Police in past ten months and stolen property worth lacs of rupees including gold/silver ornaments & cash has been recovered.

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a nationwide initiative aimed at informing and empowering citizens about the transformative flagship schemes of the Government was launched in the rural areas of the District Samba today. The campaign commenced in six prominent Panchayats of the Bari-Brahamana, Samba and Ramgarh blocks of the district.



The Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, flagged off the I.E.C Van at Panchayat Patli, Baribrahmana Block, symbolizing the journey of reaching out to communities. The van traversed through Rakh Ambtali, Ramnagar, Patli, Rarri, Lower Birpur, and Gho Brahmana Panchayats of the three blocks.



The inaugural of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra included a diverse range of activities including holding special camps where people could avail various services and benefits, captivating cultural performances by talented school students and local artists, health screenings for the citizens, engaging dialogues with progressive farmers who shared their best practices and innovations, stimulating quizzes that tested the knowledge and awareness of the participants, and the heartwarming recognition of women achievers and local sportspersons who have made the district proud.



The cultural performances added a unique touch to the event, with the renditions of "Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke" and the Swachhta song resonating with the audience. Additionally, a thought-provoking video documentary was showcased, powerfully illustrating the remarkable progress achieved through various flagship schemes. One of the highlights of the event was the Meri Kahani Meri Zubani initiative, wherein the beneficiaries of diverse departments, such as health, education, agriculture, social welfare, and rural development,enthusiastically narrated their stories of positive change.
