Samba, Nov 25 : Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, Samba police has achieved a major success by arresting interstate heroin smuggler possessing 600 Gm of heroin valuing rupees 4 Crores approximately in international market.
The interstate heroin smuggler arrested by Samba Police has been identified as Liaqat Ali @ Lucky s/o Tega r/o Kalichpur tehsil Dinanagar, district Gurdaspur, Punjab.
A case FIR No.109/2023 u/s 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation is underway.
The interstate heroin smuggler was arrested by police at Rajpura naka immediately after he entered into Samba district from Kathua side adopting border road by a private vehicle which has also been seized by police. A mobile used for heroin smuggling conspiracy has also been seized by police.
Hardcore interstate heroin smuggler was arrested by the police team led by Incharge District Anti-NDPSA Team Inspr Rahul Mahajan & Chowki Officer Rajpura Hardev Singh Slathia under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram, while as investigation is being conducted by Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by SSP Samba for commercial quantity in pursuance of PHQ directions headed by Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary with DySP Hqrs, Senior PO Ms Gurpreet Kaur, SHO Police Station Ghagwal as SIT members.

Samba, Nov 16 : Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, Police has unearthed big pilferage of essential commodity, seized two tankers of Indane Gas Agency & forty one big gas cylinders and arrested two accused red-handed while extracting gas from tankers using pipes and filling the same in the commercial gas cylinders to be sold at the price lower than market rates.
A case FIR No. 274/2023 u/s 3/7 EC Act, 406, 409, 120-B, 285, 413 IPC has been registered at Police Station Samba through Police Post Supwal and investigation is underway.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ravi Kumar s/o Girdhari Lal r/o Motlian Kalan Utterbehni, tehsil Vijaypur, district Samba and Happy Manyal s/o Ashok Kumar r/o Diani, tehsil and district Samba. However, two drivers of the tankers managed to flee from the spot taking advantage of darkness. They too have been identified and raids are being conducted to arrest them. Some more arrests are likely in this serious case of criminal conspiracy for pilferage of essential commodity, criminal breach of trust, act of habitual receiving of pilferaged property having knowledge that the same was pilferaged and rash act with combustible matter endangering human lives.
Initial investigation revealed that the same pilferage of gas from Indane gas tankers had been committed for the last over four months at the same place during midnight hours. The Indane gas tankers coming from Punjab side to Indane LPG Bottling Plant Bari Brahmana, Samba used to come to this particular place i.e Chhajwal Barian, Supwal Samba at odd night hours for pilferage purpose.

DC Samba Addresses Public Grievances at Village Samotha Block Sumb.
In a proactive initiative, the District Commissioner (DC) Samba Abhishek Sharma organized a public grievance redressal camp at the remote village of Samotha, as part of Block Diwas . The event witnessed the participation of several prominent figures, including BDC Chairperson Ramesh Singh, PRI members, and the senior officers from the district administration.
The event commenced with a welcome address by BDO Sumb, Mr. Sunil Sharma, followed by a speech by the sarpanch, who commended the DC Samba for being the first to visit the isolated village of Samotha.
Several pressing issues were addressed during the camp, including the scarcity of water in Panchayat Goran and Samotha . The closure of the road connecting Samba to Goran was raised as a concern, and a request was made to commence the construction of the road.
Local residents expressed their gratitude for the recent black-topping of the road from Goran to Baba Shivo and requested a similar upgrade for the road leading to Samotha.
Furthermore, the attendees urged that the Devasthan , holy temple of Baba Shivo be placed under the shrine board's supervision to enhance tourist facilities and promote tourism in the area. Additionally, there were pleas for the repair of damaged pipes that were impeding water connectivity under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
Other crucial demands included the establishment of a Primary Health Center (PHC) in Goran and Samotha, and the upgrade of the PHC in Sumb with additional doctors and diagnostic equipment like X-ray and ECG machines, along with ambulance facilities.
The local community emphasized the need for a degree college in Sumb to reduce the travel burden on students. Furthermore, a bridge construction from Panchayat Baletar on Sumb Nallah to Kathua was demanded due to the area's vulnerability to landslides.

Samba, Oct 4 : Under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police has foiled bovine smuggling attempt, arrested three notorious bovine smugglers and seized vehicle used for bovine smuggling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana.
The arrested notorious bovine smugglers have been identified as Sadam Hussain s/o Liyaqat Ali r/o Anantnag, Zakir Ahmed s/o Farooq Ahmed r/o Anantnag and Muzaffar Choudhary s/o Ali Ahmed r/o Chowadhi district Jammu. A case FIR No. 235/2023 U/S 188 IPC & 11 PCA Act registered at PS Bari Brahmana.
The bovine smugglers have been arrested by a police team headed by SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

Samba, September 25 : Under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police has arrested hardcore criminal "Shalu" involved in murderous attack in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh. Police has worked out the attempt to murder case and one more accused has been apprehended.
Arrested hardcore accused has been identified as Sahil Choudhary alias Shalu s/o Vijay Kumar r/o Rangoon Camp tehsil Ramgarh district Samba.
An attempt to murder case..FIR No. 52/2023 U/S 307/109, IPC 4/25 Arms Act stands registered at Police Station Ramgarh and investigation is underway.
On 3rd September, 2023 Shalu called one Vipin Choudhary alias Mirchu outside his house near Rangoon Camp and stabbed him with a " Kirch". Mirchu had sustained grievous abdominal and chest injuries, had to be hospitalized and referred to GMC Jammu where he was operated upon and underwent eighteen stitches.
Accused Shalu was evading arrest and Police was chasing him. Finally, he has been arrested and case has been worked out.
Accused was arrested by the police team headed by SHO Police Station Ramgarh Amit Kumar Sangra under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

Samba, September 22 : Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, Police has achieved another success by solving two theft cases registered at Police Station Samba, arresting three notorious thieves and recovering stolen items including gold, silver ornaments worth rupees two lacs approx. and cash amounting to Rs 5500.00.
The arrested thieves have been identified as : Manzoor Ahmed alias Paphu s/o Bashir Ahmed r/o Chak Manga Gujjran district Samba, Alaf Din alias Sadam s/o Ghulam Hussain r/o Chak Manga Gujjran district Samba and Amrik Chand s/o Kaku Ram r/o Billawar district Kathua.
Guru Ravi Dass Ji Temple theft case of Diani Samba and Chak Manga Gujjran Samba theft case have been worked out with these arrests.
Thieves Manzoor Ahmed alias Paphu and Alaf Din alias Sadam have been arrested in theft case of Chak Manga Gujjran, Samba in which gold, silver ornaments and cash were stolen and FIR No. 223/2023 u/s 457/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Samba through Police Post Rakh Amb Talli whereas thief Amrik Chand has been arrested in Guru Ravi Dass Ji Temple theft case of Diani, Samba in which cash was stolen and FIR No. 228/2023 U/S 454/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Samba.

*83 HARDCORE CRIMINALS INVOLVED IN HEINOUS CRIMES ARRESTED IN EIGHT MONTHS : SSP SAMBA BENAM TOSH*
Samba, September 15 : Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, police has arrested two hardcore criminals involved in murder case and rape case registered against them at Police Station Bari Brahmana and Police Station Samba.
The arrested accused have been identified as : Mohd Riaz alias Raju s/o Sayed Ali r/o Rakh Barotian tehsil Vijaypur district Samba and Ali Mohd s/o Hasham Din r/o Batheri tehsil Billawar district Kathua.
Mohd Riaz alias Raju has been arrested in case FIR No. 187/2022 u/s 302,307,364,323,427,147,148,201 IPC 4/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana in the murder of Zakir Hussain of Balole Khad Bari Brahmana.
Ali Mohd was arrested in case FIR No.222/2023 u/s 376, 313, 506, 420 IPC registered at Police Station Samba through Police Post Rakh Amb Talli as he committed rape on specially abled woman and when she became pregnant, he caused miscarriage without her consent by administering drugs with the intention to destroy evidence, criminally intimidated her not to disclose it to anybody and subsequently to escape from the clutches of police, fraudulently solemnized marriage with her and after some time divorced her by forging her signatures on documents.
The accused have been arrested by the police teams comprising of SHO Police Station Samba Daljit Singh, SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma and Incharge Police Post Rakh Amb Talli ASI Ramesh Thakur under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram, SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

Samba, September 10 : Under the professional guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, Police has achieved major success, arrested eight notorious thieves, solved three theft cases and recovered stolen property valuing over Rs. 6 lacs approximately.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar alias Sanju alias Sandeep s/o Sulvinder Massih r/o Vijaypur tehsil Vijaypur district Samba, Abinash Kumar alias Suraj s/o Satpal r/o Vijaypur tehsil Vijaypur district Samba, Shiva Kumar s/o Radhe Shayam r/o Vijaypur tehsil Vijaypur district Samba, Harsh s/o Pammi r/o Vijaypur tehsil Vijaypur district Samba, Rahul Chopra s/o Bachan Lal r/o Vijaypur tehsil Vijaypur district Samba, Sunil Kumar s/o Om Parkash r/o Kadhal tehsil Bari Brahmana district Samba, Mohd Sher Khan s/o Mohd Hanief r/o Phlian Mandal tehsil Satwari district Jammu and Sher Ali s/o Mohd Sadiq r/o Dhama tehsil Majalta district Udhampur.
Of the eight notorious thieves, seven have been arrested by Police team of PS Vijaypur headed by SHO Police Station Vijaypur Sandeep Charak solving two theft cases registered at Police Station Vijaypur case FIR No.126/2023 u/s 379 IPC and case FIR No.122/2023 u/s 379 IPC, while one notorious thief namely Sunil Kumar has been arrested by Police team of PS Bari Brahmana headed by SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma solving one theft case FIR No.218/2023 U/S 454/380 IPC PS Bari Brahmana. Investigation of the cases is being supervised by SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
The arrested accused are notorious thieves involved in several thefts in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur and Bari Brahmana.

Samba, September 10 : Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh today presided over “Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K” programme at Village Bara in the jurisdiction of Police Post Supwal, Police Station Samba, which was attended by a large number of people including Panches, Sarpanches, Lambardars, retried officers, Ex-servicemen, noted social activists and other prominent persons of village Bara and adjoining areas.
Those who spoke on the occasion on behalf of the public were Ex-Sarpanch Omkar Nath, Naib Sarpanch Monu Sharma, Panch Shakti Parkash Mangotra, Panch Vijay Kumar, Panch Girdhari Lal, Lambar Kulwant Singh, retired police officer Gulzar Singh and prominent persons inlcuidng PRIs.

Benam Tosh further said that present JK UT dispensation is of integrity and transparency and complaint, if there is any, against the unscrupulous elements should be brought to the notice of the concerned higher ups for appropriate action against him. Samba, September 7 : Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, Police have cracked three theft cases, arrested three notorious thieves and recovered stolen property worth lacs.
The arrested accused have been identified as Rohan Kumar alias Gourab s/o Bobi Kumar r/o Teli Basti tehsil Bari Brahmana district Samba, Shiv Dayal alias Sunny s/o Rajinder Kumar r/o Teli Basti tehsil Bari Brahmana district Samba and Sanjeev Kumar alias Sanju alias Sandeep s/o Salwinder Massi r/o Kothey Vijaypur tehsil Vijaypur district Samba.
Three theft cases registered at Police Station Samba and Police Station Vijaypur have been solved and stolen property worth lacs has been recovered.
The arrested accused are notorious thieves involved in several thefts in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, Vijaypur and Bari Brahmana.
One alto car valuing rupees 1,50,000.00 approx. and one motorcycle valuing rupees 80,000.00 approx. are among the recoveries made from the arrested notorious thieves so far. The interrogation of the accused is underway and some more arrests and recoveries are likely.
The notorious thieves have been arrested by SHO Police Station Samba Daljit Singh, SHO Police Station Vijaypur Sandeep Charak and SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, DySP Garu Ram and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that 119 thieves have been arrested and 62 theft cases solved by Samba Police in eight months and Police are making strenuous efforts to solve all theft cases in the district.
