officers and men of Pradhanagar conducted raid at Hotel "Krishna Guest House", Uttar Mallaguri, under PS Pradhanagar, and busted a criminal prostitution racket, that was being run in the hotel.

In the raid 09 ( nine) accused persons including the owner Adrish Kumar Shah of Champasari Shivaji Nagar, Ward No 46 and his manager Sambhu Nath Thakur of Debidanga Bazar, Pradhanagar, have been arrested and taken into custody.

Six Ladies who were being forced into prostitution by the owner and manager of the hotel have been rescued.

During the raid a substantial amount of incriminating articles were also recovered and seized from the hotel rooms.

Over this a specific case under the relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act was started at Pradhanagar PS.

Today on 25/07/21 all the nine arrested persons were presented before the Ld Court.

The hotel owner namely Adrish Kumar Shah of Champasari Shivaji Nagar, Ward No 46 and his manager Sambhu Nath Thakur of Debidanga Bazar, both under PS Pradhanagar, have been taken into 04 days Police Custody, for further investigation of the case.

The Special Operation Group (SOG) team has arrested five youths for smuggling huge quantity of cannabis by conducting a secret operation in the area under Pradhan Nagar police station last night.

The names of the arrested youths are Pinaki Das (35), Naushad Khan (22), Mohammad Abdul Rehman (22), Saddam Hussain (24) and Saroba Alam (26). According to the information received from SOG, his team had received news that five youths riding on a bike and scooty are reaching Dhaknikata area of Pradhan Nagar to deliver cannabis.

As soon as the intelligence was received, all the five were arrested with the cooperation of the police of Pradhan Nagar police station. A total of 28 kg of cannabis has been recovered from the accused. After which the accused were handed over to Pradhan Nagar police station. A case has been registered against the five accused under the NDPS Act and presented in the Siliguri court today.

The Bhaktinagar police have arrested some individuals for allegedly posing as policemen and stopping vehicles on NH 10 to extort money.

This comes after a person submitted a complaint stating he had become a victim of the extortionists.
A driver by profession, Anil Saha, of Champasari, PS Pradhan Nagar, said the men had forced him to part with Rs. 700.

The police swung into swift action and in the early hours of 18.07.2021, arrested four persons, who have been identified as Dilip Lohar (29), s/o Ganga Ram Lohar of Dispensary More, Rangpo in East Sikkim (present address C/o Roshan Gurung, near Kalchakra Gumba, Salugara, Jalpaiguri; Raj Lohar (21), s/o Janak Lohar of Vivekananda Nagar, Ward No. 42, PS Bhaktinagar in Jalpaiguri district; Nitesh Tamang (20), s/o Buddha Tamang of Lower Soreng, PS Rangli Rangliot in Darjeeling district; and Shib Shankar Mahato (23), s/o Devendra Mahato of Vivekananda Nagar, near Shani Mandir, Ward No. 42, PS Bhaktinagar, Jalpaiguri district.

These four individuals were allegedly stopping vehicles plying uphill at 8th Mile (the Siliguri Police Commissionerate jurisdiction’s border), claiming to be police officers, checking their documents and demanding money from the drivers.

Besides a Bolero vehicle, the police have seized torchlights, a seal bearing the name of a doctor and various other articles from the accused. The Bolero vehicle has a sticker written POLITE to hoodwink the drivers in the night time.
With the timely intervention of the police, an interstate criminal gang has been busted.

They have been charged under relevant sections of the law and a specific case is being initiated against them.

Debasish Basu, of Satyen Bose Rd by-lane , Deshbandhupara, PS SLG submitted a written complaint that, on 16/07/21, morning at about 0800 hrs, while her mother was returning to their home from morning walk, one unknown miscreant snatched her gold neck chain & fled away.
On receipt of the complaint team SLG PS registered a specic case vide SLG PS Case no 823/21 dtd 16/07/21 u/s 392 IPC, and immediately swung into action.

During investigation of the case the accused person was identified from the CCTV footages, and the police managed to arrest the main culprit Akash Sikder ( 24 yrs) S/O Ashok Kr Sikder of Santipara, near Trinathi Mandir, Ambikanagar, PS NJP, within 24 hrs of the crime.

Further leading to the statement of accd Akash Sikder, three more accused persons namely (1) Biplab Sutradhar ( 48 yrs) ( 2) Akhil Mondal ( 40 yr) both of Sandhya Jewellers, Ambikanagar Bazar, NJP and (3) Amar Patil ( 22yr) of Sai Tounch Centre Jewellery Shop of Khudirampally, SLG, who were the receivers of the stolen property have also been arrested.

The police team has also recovered the snatched Gold Chain ( in distorted & moulded form) from the possession of accused persons.
All the four accused persons will be presented before the Ld Court tomorrow, and necessary follow up actions are being taken.

On getting information, ASI Soumen Chowdhury of Kaikhali TG intercepted the bus at Kaikhali Crossing in evening and recovered the bag. The bag was duly returned to its owner.

Matigara police had received a written complaint of a minor girl gone missing from her home since 19.03.21.
The complainant was her mother, a resident of Paulpara in Matigara, District Darjeeling.
The police registered a case at Matigara PS under proper sections of law, taking note that the girl was 15 years old.
During the course of the probe, the investigating officer questioned the complainant and various other persons, including friends and relatives of the girl, whereupon it became evident that the girl was last seen in the evening of 19.03.2021 near the Matigara tea garden. The officer also soon came to know that the girl had been forcibly taken to some place in Bihar by some individuals.
On 15.07.21, the Matigara police received specific input about some persons hiding the girl at a place in Paulpara and that she would be soon sent to some unknown location. Immediately, a police team including lady personnel raided the place and recovered the girl who was missing for the past four months.
The police found out that the main kidnappers were Raju Sha and Abhishek Kumar, and along with their partners, they had taken the girl to Dimuria under Mohammadpur thana in Gopalgaunj district, Bihar for sexually exploiting her as well as to force her to perform vulgar dances before the public. They threatened her with dire consequences if she refused to abide by their orders.
Thereafter, more raids ensued leading to the arrest of Raju Sha (30), s/o Late Jagdish Sha of Matigara Tumbajote (Near West Point School), who is a permanent resident of Dimuria in Bihar’s Gopalgaunj district; and Abhishek Kumar (23), s/o Hemanth Mishra of Gopalgaunj under Manjha thana, Gopalgaunj district, Bihar. The police have seized articles such as waistbands, imitation bangles, Ghagras, make-up kits, and a Samsung mobile phone from their possession.
As per the directive of the chairperson, CWC Darjeeling, the girl is presently in protective custody of a designated shelter home.
The two arrested persons were produced before the Ld. ACJM, Siliguri on 16/07/21, and have been taken into Police Custody for 10 days, for further investigation.

People who try to do trafficking of children specifically and persons generally shall not be spared et al. All gangs shall be brought to books of law.
