Srinagar, 06-May,:In order to bring the change in Khanyar constituency and end the traditional dynastic politics, the likeminded people support Sheikh Mohammad Imran wherein two Zones (Zone ‘N’& Zone ‘O’) were framed and the below mentioned appointed as Office Bearers of these two zones. Srinagar, August 26: Former Deputy Mayor and Senior Political Leader Sheikh Mohammad Imran on Friday said that people of J&K are facing enormous difficulties because of the criminal political indifference adopted by erstwhile successive governments that only focused on exploitation of public trust and ignored the pressing issues of the general public.

Imran was speaking at the sidelines of a public convention that was organised at Khonakhan near Masjid Owaisi (ra) where scores of local inhabitants took part & also discussed their pressing concerns with him.

“It is really painful to see that for 36 years, the innocent people of Khonakhan-Dalgate have given their sincere unrelenting support to the former MLA of Khanyar but in return they have to grapple with broken wooden bridges, failed drainage system, dilapidated roads, broken street lights and shambled condition of Shikara Ghats. Their trust has been sadistically violated and this vicious breach of trust can never be forgotten as people have overtly discarded this malicious family monopoly,” Imran said.

He assured the people to remain always available at their beck and call besides raising their concerns before the competent authorities in order to seek its prompt resolutions.

“I have taken oath to work for the betterment of my people and make Khanyar a model constituency which unfortunately has become a victim of family politicians who are visible among public circles during Election time only. My firm commitment with my people is to be on their side in all times, come what may and my efforts are directed to explore the ways by which the monthly income of every household in Khanyar increases considerably and I am hopeful that with this intent Almighty Allah will ease our task of rebuilding this constituency that has been a victim of negligence and nepotism,” he said.

On this occasion senior National Conference leader Abdul Majid along from Khanyar with other active politicians joined Sheikh Mohammad Imran and pledged to discard family politicians and contribute to usher in an era marked with tangible economic prosperity, better employment opportunities and improved public infrastructure.

Sheikh Mohammad Imran was accompanied by numerous political leaders and activists who also addressed the general public on this occasion. The people expressed their contentment over the deliberations made by Sheikh Mohammad Imran and vowed to support him unstintingly in the upcoming Assembly Elections.

Kulgam Police comes to rescue of people, 430 stranded civilians evacuated

Kulgam : July 26, 2021Today district Police Kulgam evacuated 430 civilians from Aharbal who were stranded due to ongoing encounter. 40 (fourty) vehicles were arranged for by SHO Manzgam Insp Imtiaz and SHO DH Pora Insp Tanveer supervised by AdSP Kulgam Sh Zulafqar and all the persons were evacuated and conveyed safely to their destinations.

The stranded civilians and their family members thanked Kulgam Police for assistance at a crucial juncture.

JKCA gives July 15th deadline to Clubs, Districts.

JAMMU, June 29: Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has tightened noose around clubs and district associations by fixing July 15 as deadline to furnish details about their existence.
Working on professional lines to streamline the affairs of notorious sports body, which looks after the gentleman’s game of cricket, the three-member sub-committee appointed by the BCCI has sought detailed information from the affiliated clubs (also disputed) and those District Cricket Associations.
The sub-committee has fixed July 15 as deadline for furnishing the details at its offices in Jammu and Srinagar.
It has been reliably learnt that the information sought from the clubs was aimed at revival of cricketing activities in the UT of J&K and Ladakh.
The detail of information sought included constitution, details of the teams year wise, details of elections held on yearly basis and list of elected office bearers, details of the offices of the clubs/association to include location, mailing address, email ID and to also include details of assets, fixtures and facilities, details of funds received from JKCA including expenditure details.
As also, the details of members who have incurred disability under Lodha panel report has also been sought. The clubs/associations have also been asked to intimate details of any financial help received by any club member in any capacity from JKCA.
Soon after receiving the information, the Sub-committee members shall hold direct interactions with the affiliated clubs and district Associations.

*Corporator accuses Deputy Mayor of physical assault, Says Parvez Qadri misusing his personal security*

Srinagar, June 28, KNT: Accusing Srinagar Deputy Mayor of ‘misusing’ his security provided by the Home Department, a Corporator Monday claimed that he was physically manhandled and assaulted by Deputy Mayor for raising objection over land grabbing in Rainawari area of Srinagar.

Corporator Jogi Lankar Rainawari Asif Beigh told news agency Kashmir News Trust that he raised his voice against land grabbers which didn’t go down well with Deputy Mayor Parvez Qadri. “First his brother threatened me of dire consequences and then Deputy Mayor himself slapped and manhandled me in the premises of Srinagar Municipal Corporation. In this illegal act, his security personnel supported him,” Beigh alleged.

Divulging information about the incident, Asif Beigh said that a National Conference leader has grabbed land meant for public. “The land is meant for the public park but NC supporters shield their leader. My hue and cry about the land grabbing in Rainawari infuriated Deputy Mayor who attacked me in broad day light. I suffered injuries and was not able to even walk and lodge a police complaint against the Deputy Mayor,” Beigh said.

“Not only Deputy Mayor assaulted me but he abused me in front of everyone. I have never heard such abuses in my whole life. He stooped so low to safeguard the interests of his party leader,” he said.

Beigh said Deputy Mayor is misusing his security including SSB men to threaten people.

“My only fault is that I object to the corrupt practices in the Corporation. Multiple FIRs stand registered against the Deputy Mayor. I appeal DG Police and Anti-Corruption Bureau to investigate corruption cases against Parvez Qadri,” Beigh said.

Meanwhile, Beigh gave vent to his anger by writing a post on facebook. He wrote that land mafia had encroached a park at Kralyar Rainawari that has been retrieved and a park for people will be built. He said even though corrupt people attacked him at SMC as they have vested interests who resort to loot and grabbed land. He said he is surprised why ACB, CIK and CID is not acting against the corrupt.

Sheikh Imran makes it to Executive Committee
‘My victory first step towards eradication of corruption’

Srinagar, June 19, KNT: Four members including former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Muhammad Imran won the Executive Committee Elections of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Saturday.

Sources said that 11 Corporators had participated in the elections, which was held to fill up 4 vacant seats in the Executive Committee.

Those who were elected include former NC member Danish Bhat, Nazir Gilkar from BJP, Shafat Gafar from Congress and Independent candidate Sheikh Muhammad Imran.

Sheikh Muhamamd Imran’s victory came as a big surprise as he is not being supported by any political party.

“It is the first step towards the eradication of corruption in SMC. I am powerless. Congress betrayed me. BJP and Apni Party are allies. Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Congress, BJP and Apni Party were all on same page and yet I bagged the seat by the grace of Almighty. My victory is a slap for those who enjoy power,” Sheikh Muhammad Imran told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

He said like-minded people supported him as they like him want to eradicate corruption from the Corporation.

Aasif Beigh who was official candidate from Congress held Chief Whip Basharat Bin Qadir responsible for his debacle. He alleged that Chief Whip of the party back stabbed him.

“BJP had only one member, how it managed to garner the support of 11 members. Congress had 17 members but its candidate got only one vote. How is it possible?,” Beigh questioned and sought action against the Chief Whip who according to Beigh always backstabbed party and its candidates.

Beigh said he will not only raise the matter with Jammu Kashmir Party president but also will approach the All-India Congress Committee where he will question Basharat Bin Qadri’s elevation.

Pertinently, Executive Committee is a powerful body where all the developmental plans and schemes for Srinagar are discussed and implemented. (KNT)
