*Kulgam Police attaches illegal property worth 1.43 crore of drug peddlers involved in multiple cases of drug peddling*

*June 14:* Continuing its action against drug peddlers, Kulgam Police attached properties (Double storied residential house measuring 1093.50 Sq ft and Cowshed measuring 437.25 Sq ft (both valuing 70 lakhs approx) belonging to drug peddler namely *Bashir Ahmad Ganie Son of Mohd Ahsan Ganie a resident of Nassu Badragund, Qazigund* presently lodged in central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu under PIT NDPS act.
and newly constructed Two storied Residential house measuring 941.36Sq ft (valuing 73 lakhs approx) of *Ghulam Nabi Kuttay Son of Abdul Aziz Kuttay resident of Kaladrund, Frisal*, presently under Police custody.

The actions were taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & are linked with case FIR no 40/2023 U/S 8/15 of NDPS act of Police Station Qazigund and FIR No. 26/2024 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act of Police Station Yaripora, respectively.

The properties were identified as illegally acquired properties during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam Police. The properties were prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the above mentioned drug peddlers.

This operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the areas hailed the initiative of Kulgam Police.

*J&K ACB traps and arrests Parvez Ahmed, Patwari, Halqa Gurha Manhasan, Pargwal, Jammu along-with his agent Vijay Kumar alias Babbu (Ex-Panch) for accepting bribe of ₹25000.*

Anti Corruption Bureau received a complaint alleging therein that Parvez Ahmed, Patwari, Halqa Gurha Manhasan, Pargwal, Jammu is demanding bribe of ₹30,000 for entering Hon’ble Court’s directions in the revenue record with respect to land measuring 17 Marals falling under Khasra No. 654 situated at Gurha Manhasan, Tehsil Pargwal, Jammu. The complainant requested for legal action against the Patwari concerned as he don’t want to pay bribe.

2. On receipt of the complaint, a Case FIR No. 07/2024 U/S 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 r/w 120-B IPC was registered at ACB Police Station Jammu.

3. During the course of investigation a trap team was constituted which laid a successful trap and caught accused Patwari namely Parvez Ahmed and one Vijay Kumar @ Babbu (Ex-Panch) red handed on the spot while demanding and accepting bribe of ₹25,000 from the complainant. Both the accused persons were arrested on the spot. The house searches are conducted at the residences of both the accused persons, which are going on.

4. Further investigation of the case is in progress.

J&K Police detains 50 suspects in Reasi bus attack case

Jammu, June 13 (UNI) Police have detained 50 individuals in connection with the June 9 terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Following an intensive probe, the police have expanded their search into far-flung remote areas to expel hiding militants.
The bus was attacked in the Kanda area of Pouni that left 10 people dead and 33 injured.
The police spokesman on Thursday said that the detentions were following an intensive police investigation in the Kanda area in which significant leads were uncovered, aiding in the identification and capture of those who may potentially be involved in orchestrating the attack.
"To ensure a comprehensive probe, search operations have been expanded to encompass the far-flung areas of Arnas and Mahore. These operations aim to uncover further evidence and apprehend terrorists who may be hiding in these remote regions," said the spokesman.
He added that the law enforcement agencies are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors in the area.
Senior Superintendents of Police Reasi Mohita Sharma urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

DIG, SSP Escape Unhurt In Militant Attack In Kathua, Arms, Ammo Recovered

Traffic Movement On Bhaderwah-Pathankot Highway Suspended Till Further Orders

Srinagar, Jun 12 (GNS): The DIG Jammu and Kashmir Police and Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua had a narrow escape after a militant fired a barrage of bullets on their vehicles amid the ongoing anti-militant operation in Hiranagar, an official said.

The official told GNS that the cavalcade of the two police officers came under attack after a hiding militant fired over two dozen rounds. "There however was no harm caused to any of the officers' or any of the personnel," the official said.

In a related development, the security forces recovered arms and ammunition around the ongoing gunfight site.

As per the official, the recovered arms and ammunition included; three magazines containing 30 rounds, one another magazine containing 24 rounds, 75 rounds in a separate polythene, 3 live grenades, 1 lakh currency (200 notes of rupees 500), eatables (Pak-made chocolates, dry channa and stale chapatis), Pak-made medicines and injections (pain-killers), 1 syringe, 2 packs of A4 batteries and 1 handset wrapped in tape having antenna and 2 wires hanging from the handset.

Meanwhile, in view of the militant attack on a joint camp of security forces in Chattergala area in Bhaderwah, the authorities have ordered for suspension of traffic movement on Bhaderwah-Pathankot Highway till further orders.

.*Pulwama Police Arrests 04 Notorious Drug Peddlers, Recovered Contraband Substance*

June 08: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Pulwama Police have arrested four notorious drug peddlers. Acting on the directions of SHO Pulwama, a police party from Police Station Pulwama established a Naka checkpoint at Chitrepora, Pulwama. During the checking, a drug peddler identified as Shahid Salam Ganie, S/O Ab Salam Ganie, R/O Sirnoo, was apprehended along with a contraband substance.

In this regard, a case under FIR number 108/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pulwama, and an investigation was initiated.

Following Shahid Salam Ganie's disclosure and the evidence surfaced during the investigation, police conducted raids at multiple locations, resulting in the recovery of a heroin-like substance weighing approximately 80 grams. Consequently, three more accused persons were arrested. They have been identified as: 1.Abrar Farooq S/O Farooq Ahmad Khan R/o Prichoo 2. Tariq Ahmad Ganie, S/o Bashir Ahmad Ganie, R/o Chandgam and 3. Fayaz Ahmad Wani, S/o Ab Ahad Wani, R/o Chandgam.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and more recoveries and arrests are expected as the police intensify their efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.

Pulwama Police remain committed to eradicating drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.

DC Kulgam takes stock of pace & progress of MC Kulgam work projects

KULGAM, JUNE 05:

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today visited several locations in Kulgam and took stock of pace and progress made on the work projects of Municipal Council Kulgam which are under the ex*****on of R&B.

During the visit, DC took stock of work projects including Modern Slaughter House, Marriage Hall, Shopping Complex near Chambagund Bridge, Community Hall Chawalgam and construction status of Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Pits at Liroo.

The DC instructed the Executive Engineer R&B to resume work on modern slaughter houses and to complete all other work projects without any delay.
He also instructed him to complete the finishing work of the marriage hall so that the project can be dedicated to the public.

The DC was accompanied by ADDC, Bashir Ahmad Wani; CEO Municipal Council Kulgam, Ex. Engineer R&B and other officers.
