“There is nothing wrong in being happy.”
The team of Mrinmoy Saikia and Nibir Akash Barua are back again with his another refreshing short film, ‘NIMILA ONKO 2’. This one is directed by Nibir Akash Barua & @Saptarshi Gogoi. Screenplay and dialogues are by Mrinmoy Saikia.
Though #nimilaonko2 is not a sequel to the original, it too deals with the idea of love and its acceptance withstanding societal norms.
Thinking his dad to be concerned about him getting married, a young guy named Pompu, coming back to his hometown Guwahati makes it clear that he and his partner need a few more years to settle down in their respective careers, and only then think about tying knots. To this the father repiles- “moi mur biyar kotha he bhabisu” (I was actually thinking about my marriage).
From there the journey begins and the question shall arise in your mind- will a son be able to accept his ageing father’s romantic relationship, and his wish of getting married again? Here’s Nimila Onko bringing to you a package of entertainment, laughter, joy, and sweet romance.
The entire film is shot in a way that would make the viewers relate to each and every scene.
Jayanta Das as Pompu’s father beautifully showcases the innocent side of an old man. There’s a lighter side to the character, which you will get to witness in a few scenes. Yet it is impactful and easily catches the audience’s attention.
Moloya Goswami as the father’s romantic partner perfectly suits the role. She delivers her dialogues in a way that makes her character even more adorable. Prayash Sharma Tamuly naturally plays the typical son, planning for a better future in his career, but fails to balance his professional and family life. There are glimpses of him getting annoyed and slightly irritated in life, and Prayash is able to show those sides of the character pretty well. Chao Kingshow Baruah as happy-go-lucky friend, and his supportive & girlfriend played by Kasvi Sharma justify their part very
Bornodi Bhotiai, revolves around the lives of Moukon, Luit, Simanta, Joi, Topon and Bhaskar. Moukon is a young girl, who’s life is filled with loneliness due to the villagers avoiding her, considering her to be a jinx (a person or thing that brings bad luck). On the other hand, Simanta, Joi and their two friends have certain likings for Moukon, and most of the time discuss about her and her miserable life. They are also unemployed and looking for a stable and a substantial life. There is also Luit, who has the same monotonous life of selling insurance policies from door to door. Despite their tedious lives, destiny has certain things in store for them, and there’s a chance of unexpected romance and love stories blooming gradually in the film. Apart from being entertaining due to the fun and comedic elements, Bornodi Bhotiai also has some messages to bring in to the viewers. It shows you the reality of life as a whole, and the way humans think and react. In the first half, you might not understand what is going on in the story, but gradually you will be able to figure out and connect the dots. But there’s more to it in the end. Love is one of the most beautiful feelings in the world so much so, that just the idea of falling in love makes people drool to no ends. A lot of Bollywood movies have beautifully showcased the essence of love over the years, but Laila Majnu makes people fall in love with the film basking in ethereal madness. Love stories are enticing no matter how unreal they seem. Every individual loves in a different way and Qais’ love for Laila was unique yet full of passion. Their love for each other is as pure as the morning dew and beyond any definition. What starts as puppy love takes an intense turn, when the love birds fall apart and don’t see each other for four years. The mere feeling of liking transforms in. The movie touched the base perfectly on the topic of Laila Majnu. Both the protagonists did a tremendous job. Tripti Dimri is beautiful and carries the innocence of Laila perfectly. Avinash Tiwari as Qais deserves a special mention for acing the role, and once you watch the film, you will definitely fall in love with Qais’. The music of the film adds to the beauty of the story. The song “Tum” touches every chord of one’s heart. The title track composed by Joi Barua makes everybody groove to the song. The scenic beauty of Kashmir and its culture has been beautifully captured.
A Son Never Forgets! Karwaan is A journey to understand and connect – with one's father and with oneself – is the pivotal point of the film Karvaan. Though dark and melancholy at times, it is all about travelling through numerous, unknown places, emotions and timespans – just to rebuild the somewhat lost sense of emotional connect and understanding with one's family. A journey that is as much internal as it is external. A journey for both Avinash (Dalqeer) and Tanya (Mithila) – the protagonists of the film. Karwaan is a massively feel-good film with an honest attempt by the entire team. Packed with an impeccable cast— Stalwart Irrfan Khan has left an impression with every shot and scene he is in … and it’s practically impossible to miss even a second of his screen time. He bites a major chunk in the storytelling with some of the best lines and a sequence revolving around him. (And his untimely demise was and will always be a great loss for all cinema lovers around the globe.)Both Dulqeer Salman as well as Mithila Palkar shine in Irrfan’s brilliance!! Special Mention for our own @boloramdas05 , who appears in a cameo which makes you laugh your heart out!!! Simple yet very prominent presence gives immense value to the role he is enacting. Director Akarsh Khurana has given us all a reason to contemplate a road trip sometime soon in life. Kudos to that. Not a love story but a story about love’
October is a beautiful story about Dan and Shiuli who do not share a great bond initially but are brought together by a certain turn of events which changes their lives forever.
Dan, an irresponsible and emotionless person who is irritated with his mundane life. While developing the character arc the director very quickly established Dan in a very simple and easy to understand person. But his character graph goes through a major turn toward empathy and compassion with the question … “Where is Dan?”
Dan is moved by Shiuli’s sufferings and tries to fill her grey life with love and colour. They talk to each other so much with just pure emotions. Even the eye blinks convey emotions and affection like no other language.
The music and background score by Shantanu Moitra along with Anupam Roy and Abhishekh Arora with the aesthetic beauty of the film soothes our aching hearts throughout.
The heart wrenching story in addition to Shoojit Sircar's direction spells magic and leaves the audience spellbound. The movie portrays human feelings with few dialogues and many expressions.
Varun Dhawan played the role of Dan and it has to be one of his finest works. The movie is slow paced but engaging and heart touching. Bandita Sandhu is very convincing as Shiuli.
The movie evokes so many emotions inside one's heart despite the fact that there isn't any romance in the film. The movie lingers in your heart for a long time.
Shoojit Sircar has changed the way people look at the month October… forever!!!
We can't change the past, yet guilt can tie us down with strings, often causing us to repeat the very behaviors we need to free ourselves from blocking us from seeing new opportunities.

KC digital films latest offering ‘AWMI’, a short film by @SamujjalKashyap01, revolves around the lead AWMI, played by talented @stuti.choudhury.1 with strange occurrences happening in her life and an intriguing entry of a suspicious character played by @kamallochanofficial whose intensity liven up the plot. And what unfolds in the next 15 mins grips the audience with AWMI’s journey to get the answers over things bothering her. Achinta Raj Kashyap and Rupa Barua appear in couple of important scenes.
This film talks about the unwanted loads of thoughts humans carry throughout, that makes our life a mess filled with miseries. In today’s times, such topics must be discussed through storytelling, which indeed helps in bringing a ray of hope in our lives. AWMI mostly emphasizes more on the thought of ‘gulit’ in our minds, that is difficult to avoid or get rid of.
Technically, the film is phenomenal and eye-catching. It brings a unique feel to the entire story. It’s the technical aspects that is the backbone to the film. @samujjal100 is a storyteller with a difference and he comes with a new and unique story with even better feel to it. Special mention to @asutosh_kashyap (DOP) and @gautam_mazumdar._ (Editor) for bringing the directors vision of a gripping tell of the suspense with tight shots and crisp editing.
AWMI undoubtedly is one of the best work that has come out of @kcdigitalfilms and the bar is set is pretty high for filmmakers in terms of content creation with fine production value .
The film is available on @kcdigitalfilms official youtube channel.

A Thursday begins with a feel of light-heartedness, where kids in a play school are enjoying amongst each other, and their parents wait for the teacher to arrive. When Naina Jaiswal, (played by @yamigautam ), who is the teacher finally comes back after 3 weeks of leave, there is a level of joy and fun surrounded inside the school, and everything seems to be perfectly fine….until the parents, her husband and the helper leave the premise.
Here's where the story begins- or rather takes a 360 degree turn into a hostage drama where Naina calls the police station to inform that she has kept 16 children as hostages and has certain demands, that must be fulfilled at any cost.
‘A Thursday’ seems to have less layers of suspense and surprising elements, yet it’s watchable for the important message that is delivered at the end of the film. However, it will make you ask questions as to why certain things happen in the movie, and you might tend to find logic behind several scenes. For the first 10-15 minutes, you might feel the movie could have already ended, if the cops did their job well. But somehow the police department is shown to be helpless and weaker than the lead actor, although they had access to greater weapons than Naina. The ending of the film could have been better, if it let the audience decided whether or not Naina's action and deeds are justifiable.
Keeping the loopholes aside, ‘A Thursday’ is watchable for the good aspects like the color grading, the design of the sets and other technical aspects that succeed in keeping the audience engaged. The non-stop rain and storm like weather shown in the film perfectly matches the mood of the context and bring chills to the viewers.
As far as rest of the cast is concerned, it's always a pleasure to watch @atulkulkarni_official sprinkle his acting prowess and the grip he has over his craft spellbound the audience every time he is on screen. @nehadhupia also excels as ACP Catherine Alvarez and gives a good per
635 letters, 237 gifts, four long distant calls….
An unusual tale of Snehamoy and Miyage which leads to an unexpected marriage.
Love is so much more than the casual conversations, meeting over a cup of coffee or going out on a shopping spree.
Miyage and Snehamoy’s love blooms over some handwritten letters. They never set their eyes upon each other despite their desire to meet, yet they can feel their lover’s presence everyday through the words they share on a piece of paper and the gifts exchanged.
Some short phone calls show their utmost fondness and deep feelings for each other. Their love transcends cultural and language barriers.
From pen friends to husband and wife both the protagonists go through a lot of emotional turmoil to ward off prying eyes of society.
The Japanese wife directed by Aparna Sen which was based on Kunal Basu’s book by the same name.
The poignant plot revolves around Snehamoy & Miyage played by Rahul Bose & Chigusa Takaku respectively. Undoubtedly Rahul shines in it and has to be one of his most memorable works. They were ably supported by an impressive star cast comprising Raima Sen and Moushumi Chatterjee. Not to forget the cinematography by Anay Goswamy is in itself plays a character entwined with the plot.
“Sharing your emotions in a piece of paper can be as exciting and intimate as any mode of expression.”
