A new CDC study finds that, during periods when the Delta and Omicron variants were widely circulating a third dose (either an additional primary dose or booster dose) of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) was highly effective at preventing emergency and urgent care visits and hospitalizations related to COVID-19.

These findings show why getting a third dose of mRNA vaccines is important, especially now with Omicron as the main variant spreading. Everyone should be up to date with recommended COVID-19 vaccination, including getting a booster shot when eligible. Learn more: https://bit.ly/mm7104e3.

“When schools were closed, it was bad news for me and my siblings because when learning moved online, we all had to share one mobile phone to study. There was a lot of pressure and I felt like I was missing out on some lessons," says 15-year-old Rania who lives in Za’atari refugee camp, Jordan.

She hopes to become a journalist. "I care about my education and I want to show everyone that I can make it. By doing so, I can inspire many girls to follow my lead and never give up hope."

Now, in our second year of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring children - especially the most vulnerable - return to school and catch-up is critical to protect their futures.
