DDC Chairman takes stock of developmental scenario in Rajouri district at Council meeting

Assures full cooperation of Councillors in resolving bottlenecks impeding dev works

RAJOURI, AUGUST 26: District Development Council Chairman Rajouri, Naseem Liyaqat today reviewed the developmental scenario of the district here at a joint meeting of the public representatives and officers held in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak bungalow.

Among the others, DDC Member Rajouri, Sain Abdul Rashid; DDC Member Sunderbani, Rajinder Sharma; DDC Member Plunger, Parveen Akhter; DDC Member Dhangri, Tazeem Akhter; DDC Member Kalakote, Anita Thakur; DDC Member Darhal, Iqbal Malik; DDC Member Thanamandi, Abdul Qayoom Mir and DDC Member Dhangri, Rameshwar Singh attended the meeting.

President MC Rajouri, Mohd Arief; BDC Chairperson Rajouri, Darbar Chowdhary; BDC Chairperson Darhal, Mohd Aslam; BDC Chairperson Qila Darhal, Khalid Firdoz; BDC Chairperson Nowshera, Bodh Raj and BDC Chairperson Budhal Old-A, Javed Iqbal Chowdhary; BDC Chairperson Doongi, Raiz Chowdhury; BDC Chairperson Seri, Nina Sharma; BDC Member Siot, Balkrishna Sharma were also present in the meeting.

ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar; ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik; SE Jal Shakti, JP Singh; CEO RDA, DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; ACP, Abdul Rashid; DFO SF, Sanjay Saraf; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; DPO, ExEn PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; ExEn PMGSY Budhal, Abdul Gani and ExEn REW, Noor Ali besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed the performance of different departments under District Capex, JJM, BADP, PMAY, MGNREGA, SAMAGRA, ICDS, CRF, B2V, 14 FC, SEHAT, IWMP, PM KISAN, KCC, Soil Health Card, Poshan Abhiyan and other welfare programmes being implemented in the district was held threadbare in the meeting. The Chairman asked for bringing in council's notice the bottlenecks hampering developmental works so that the same can be cleared timely for larger public interest.

The DDC Chairman asked the concerned officers to speed up the tendering of the works approved under District Capex Budget 2021-22 for early ex*****on and timeline completion.

Regarding the poor female literacy rate, the DDC Chairman asked the concerned officers and public representatives to take concrete measures to enhance the percentage in the district.

For the enlistment of registration of β€˜D' class contractors for Panchayat level works, the DDC Chairman asked the concerned officers to complete the process at the earliest.

The progress on the houses being constructed under PMAY-R and PMAY-U was also reviewed and the concerned officers were asked to accelerate the pace to complete the work within the shortest possible time.

The DDC Chairman also exhorted the Executive Engineers of PWD and PMGSY to mobilize additional men and machinery for completing the projects in stipulated time frame with productive and appropriate utilisation of the available resources.

In days long operation conducted by Poonch Police alongwith army, seized huge quantity of gold and silver, cash and other valuables with all are suspected to be stolen property.

Police said that a joint team of police and army with police team headed by SHO Surankote, JS Sambyal was on routine patrolling when an information was received regarding suspicious movement in three houses in general area of Surankote town after which after which search warrant of three houses was obtained from Executive Magistrate.

On this, an extensive search of all three houses was conducted during which huge amount of valuables were recovered from three houses.

The recovered valuables include rupees 40,72,134, gold ornaments weighing 1272.860 grams, silver ornaments weighing 1043 grams, 11 wrist watches 60 mobile phones and 01 camera among other valuables.


The search was conducted in three houses which belonged to Jameela Begum wife of Shakeel Ahmed resident of Khet Mandi, at present store wali gali Surankote, Shanaz Akhter wife of Lt. Mohammad Azam resident of Iqbal colony Surankote and Rashida Begum Begum wife of Mehfooz Ahmed resident of Ari Mendhar, at present power house mohalla Surankote.

Police said that investigation into the matter has been initiated with a multi member police team headed by DySP Surankote, Khaliq Hussain is conducting investigation into forward and backward linkages.

Soldier ends Life In Rajouri // A Defence Security Corps (DSC) soldier ended his life by shooting himself with service rifle in Kalakote area of Rajouri, officials said.

They said that at 1800 hour, the soldier Nike Joginder Paul, posted at Air Force Radar unit Salyar Chhatta, (Kalakote) committed su***de by shooting himself by his service rifle.

A police officer confirmed it to GNS and said that investigation have been launched to ascertained cause for him taking the extreme step.

DDC Rajouri reviews progress on Road connectivity projects

RAJOURI, AUGUST 11: To review the progress on the widening of Akhnoor-Poonch NH 144 A and Rajouri Thanamandi road and shifting of utilities, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today convened a meeting with the concerned officers here at the Conference Hall of the Dak Bungalow

Among others the meeting was attended by AC Defence, Saleem Qureshi; Commander 31 BRTF, KRJ Reddy; Lt Col 58 RCC, Gaurav; SE PWD, Javaid Maqbool; DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; Tehsildar Rajouri, Mohd Rafeeq; Tehsildar Thanamandi, Mehmood Khan; ExEn PWD, Maqbool Hussain; ExEn PDD, Narotam Kumar; ExEn Jal Shakti Mechanical, Bhupinder Singh besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

Concerning the widening of Rajouri Thanamandi road, the meeting was apprised that the road is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 284.22 crore and the work on the road would be completed within two years and currently, the earth cutting work is in progress.

About the assessment of structures and fruit-bearing trees coming in the alignment of Rajouri Thanamandi road, the District Development Commissioner asked the concerned officers to get the assessment done within the shortest possible time.

Regarding the status of the land acquisition process for Akhnoor-Poonch NH 144 A, the District Development Commissioner asked the concerned to expedite the process to avoid delay in the ex*****on of the project.

The DC asked for expediting the pending assessment of fruit and non-fruit-bearing trees from Thandapani and Balshama and structures in Rajouri and Nowshera tehsils coming in the alignment of NH 144 A.

The District Development Commissioner also asked for the Joint verification for shifting of utilities of Jal Shakti and JPDCL on Rajouri Thanamandi road and NH144-A within the shortest possible time.

DC Rajouri reviews arrangements for Independence-Day 2021

RAJOURI, AUGUST 11: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today reviewed the arrangements being put in place for the smooth celebration of Independence Day-2021, here at a meeting of the concerned officers held in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bunglow.

Among the others, ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik;DFO, ArshDeep Singh; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; Adjutant 71 FD REGT, Ajay Bhandari; Lt Colonel RF, Akshay Singh; Commandant CRPF 72 Battalion, Vinod Kumar; SE PWD, Javaid Maqbool; SE Jal Shakti, JP Singh; AC Defence, Saleem Qureshi; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir, Executive Engineers of the Jal Shakti, PWD, PDD, PMGSY, RDD besides representatives of paramilitary forces, other District and sectoral officers attended the meeting.

A thorough discussion regarding the seating arrangements as per Covid-19 protocol, presentation of cultural programmes, parade, security arrangement and award presentation was held in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that the day would begin with playing of Shehnai Vadan by the Information Department followed by flag hoisting by the Chief Guest at DPL ground Rajouri and march past by District Police, NCC, CRPF, BSF, Home guard, JKFPF and ITBP.

The full dress rehearsal shall be held on August 13th. Similar programmes would be held at sub-division, tehsil, blocks and Panchayat levels.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to ensure adequate security arrangements, sanitation, illumination of government buildings, parking facilities, traffic management and proper seating arrangements at the main venue besides ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in advance and coordinate with each other for the smooth conduct of Independence day function.

The Deputy Commissioner asked for ensuring that all the COVID regarding protocols are strictly adhered to while carrying out different activities related to the Independence Day celebrations.
