Hello, everyone. I'm Hidhayanathan, currently in Peterborough, Canada, and I've got a story to share. It's a bit of a miracle, not our doing but God's, as I sit here on a Sunday morning, the clock ticking to 5:06.
We arrived on a freezing Christmas evening, facing a sudden change in climate and meeting new people. Our friends here in Canada welcomed us with the famous Tim Hortons in Toronto. From there, it was a 1 to 2-hour journey to Peterborough, where our friends had already booked a house for us.
The first challenge was adapting to the cold and settling into our new place. We were treated to a delicious mutton biryani and other goodies by our friends. Then came the practical challenges – getting a bus pass, figuring out the downtown area, buying groceries, and opening a bank account. But somehow, things fell into place.
New Year's arrived, and we managed to wish our families and friends back home. We even got our G1, a small victory. I started job hunting, and my wife and sister-in-law began attending college.
Through it all, it felt like there was a guiding force. God, perhaps. through a friend, we found a landlord willing to rent us a good house. It's been more than 20 days now, and we feel blessed.
I want to keep writing about this journey, emphasizing that it's not us; it's God's grace that's led us here. Excuse any mistakes in my words – I'm just sharing our story in the most genuine way possible.
