The Contribution Of Women To The Early History Of Indian Cinema.
September 15, 2023, 6pm-7pm.
India has completed over 100 years of film-making. Much has been spoken about the pioneering Producers, Actors, Directors, Musicians etc. But little is known of the role women have played in the early development of this industry in India.
In this short 45 minute session, Jethu Mundul, tries to cover the contribution of Early Women to India's film industry
Jethu Mundul as he is commonly known on film credits, has edited some iconic films like 'Sarfarosh', 'Henna' and "Gaman' over his editing career of 4 decades and has devoted a decade to the teaching of filmmaking at FTII and thereafter, designed this series of cinema history lectures over another decade.
He also has spent three decades making his own experimental short films on socio-cultural issues.
This is a 45 minute session conducted by Jethu Mundul, followed by 15 minutes of Q/A on Zoom.
Attendees are requested two keep their mics on mute to prevent disturbances.
