DISTRICT POLICE HEADQUARTERS KATHUA

*THEFT CASE SOLVED; ONE 12 BORE WEAPON RECOVERED/SEIZED BY KATHUA POLICE AT BANI; 01 PERSON ARRESTED*

PRESS RELEASE
Kathua; 24 March: District Police Kathua has successfully solved a theft case and recovered a 12 bore weapon from the possession of an accused who was arrested and the weapon was seized at Bani area.

In intervening night of 14/15-03-2023 a complaint was lodged at PS Bani through the complainant namely Nazir Ahmed S/o Ghulam R/o Chandel Morha Machwa Tehsil Bani District Kathua regarding theft of his "12 Bore Weapon" for which a case vide FIR No. 12/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Bani.
Based on the complaint filed by Nazir Ahmed, the police in Bani launched an investigation into the theft case. On 23.03.2023 police team led by Insp. Jaswinder Singh SHO PS Bani under the supervision of SDPO Basohli Sh. Aakash Kohli JKPS apprehended one suspect namely Mohd. Abbas S/o Nazir Ahmed R/o Barmota Bani who was identified during the investigation and was taken into custody. Upon interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing the 12 bore weapon from the complainant's home.Thereafter the police team recovered the stolen weapon from the accused's possession which was seized and legal proceedings are underway.

Kathua Police is committed to upholding the law and ensuring the safety and security of the citizens. We will not tolerate any criminal activity and will take strict action against anyone found involved in such acts.

WAR ON DRUGS CONTINUES; KATHUA POLICE NABBED 01 DRUG PEDDLER WITH APPROX.15 GMS OF HE**IN (CHITTA) LIKE NARCOTICS AT NHW RAJBAGH AREA, 01 ALTO CAR SEIZED*

KATHUA, 23 MAR:
Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralize the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police today recovered approx. 15 grams of He**in (Chitta) like narcotics at NHW Chann Rorian Rajbagh area, 01 drug peddler was arrested, 01 vehicle(Alto Car) alongwith narcotics got seized on spot.
On 23-03-2023 an information was received through reliable sources at
P/S Rajbagh that one person namely Sadiq s/o Raheem r/o PANSAR tehsil Marheen is indulged in illegal smuggling of He**in like Narcotics in a vehicle Alto Car bearing Reg. No. JK08 K 7702 . Acting swiftly a Police team led by Insp. Tariq Ahmed SHO P/S Rajbagh assisted by PSI Rohit Manhas under the supervision of SDPO Border Sh. Pankaj Soodan-JKPS during naka/ checking duty at NHW Rajbagh area intercepted said vehicle bearing Reg. No. JK08 K 7702 .On thorough checking approximately 15 grams of He**in like narcotics was recovered from the person namely Sadiq s/o Raheem r/o Pansar Marheen he**in like narcotics recovered from his illegal possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotics approx. 15 grams of He**in(Chitta) alongwith one Alto Car were seized and drug peddler was arrested on spot. On this a case vide FIR No. 64/2023
U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh while further investigation is underway.
Kathua Police urge the public to cooperate with the district police in this fight against drugs. It is the collective responsibility of every citizen to work together to create a safe and drug-free society. SSP Kathua assures that strict action will be taken against anyone caught involved in illegal drug trafficking and consumption. Senior Superintendent of Police, Shiv deep Singh Jamwal, said that the drive to nab the drug peddlers is in full swing across the district.

*KATHUA POLICE NABBED ONE PERSON WITH APPROX. 10 LTRS. OF ILLICIT LIQUOR AT PANDORI BRIDGE AREA*

KATHUA 16 MAR: In its recent action against the consumption/production of illegal liquor menace in the District, Kathua Police today seized approx.10 Litres of illicit liquor alongwith 01 person was arrested at Pandori Bridge area of PP Nagri.

On 16.03.2023 a police team of PP Nagri led by PSI Nitish Khajuria IC PP Nagri under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua Sh. Shammi Kumar JKPS & Insp. Sudhir Sadhotra SHO PS kathua during special checking/ patrolling duty at Pandori Bridge area apprehended one person namely Arjun Kumar S/o Jagdish Raj R/o Muthi Khurd Tehsil & District Kathua who was doing the trade of transportation/selling illicit liquor to people of area in order to gain illegitimate profit.On physical checking, approximately 10 litres of illicit liquor was recovered from his illegal possession.Thereafter all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor (approx. 10 litres) was seized and 01 person was arrested.On this instant case vide FIR No. 113/2023 U/S 48(a)/ Excise Act has been registered at PS Kathua and further investigation into this matter has been set into motion.

SAMBA POLICE SEIZES 06 MORE VEHICLES FOR ILLEGAL MINING;

22 VEHICLES SEIZED FOR ILLEGAL MINING IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS: SSP SAMBA BENAM TOSH

Samba: On the directions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police have seized six (06) more vehicles which were being used for illegal mining in district Samba.

Police teams comprising of SHO police station Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan, SHO police station Samba Rajeshwar Singh, SHO police station Bari-Brahmana Sunil Sharma, Incharge police post Rajpura PSI Sudhir Singh Charak and Incharge police post SIDCO PSI Deepika Jalotra under the supervision of SDPO Bari-Brahmana Rahul Nagar, Dy. SP Hqrs. Samba Mohd Usman and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary have seized six more vehicles being used for illegal mining at different locations in Samba district.

The seized vehicles are : Dumper bearing registration No. JK02CN-2469 , Dumper bearing registration No. GJ124-5624 , Dumper bearing registration No. JK08K-9373 , Dumper bearing registration No. JK21H-9070, Tractor Trolley bearing registration No. JK21A-5250 and Tractor Trolley bearing registration No. JK21G-5575.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that total twenty two (22) vehicles have been seized in less than two months for illegal mining by Samba police after launching special drive against illegal mining and police would continue checking the wrongdoings of mining mafia till illegal extraction is completely stopped in the district.

KATHUA, 24 FEB: Cracking down heavily on Narcotics Smuggling as well as to neutralize the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police under the guidance of SSP Kathua Sh. Shivdeep Singh Jamwal-JKPS today recovered/seized approx. 96 No's of SPM-PRX (Sapsmo Proxyvon) Capsules like narcotics at Golden Gate Lakhanpur area, 01 person arrested and narcotics got seized on spot.

On 23.02.2023 a Police team headed by Insp. VIjay Kotwal SHO P/S Lakhanpur under the supervision of DySP DAR Kathua Sh. Subash Chander during Naka/checking duty in its jurisdictional area at Golden Gate Lakhanpur area apprehended one person namely Surmu Din @ veeru S/o Ali Hussain R/o Ward No. 06 Lakhanpur District Kathua who was wandering under suspicious circumstances.On thorough checking, Approx. 96 No's of SPM-PRX (Spasmo -Proxyvon) capsules like narcotics were recovered from his possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotics was seized and said person was also arrested. On this an instant case vide FIR No. 16/2023 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and further investigation was set into probe.

*WAR ON DRUGS CONTINUES; APPROX. 17.5 KG's OF POPPY STRAW (BHUKKI) LIKE NARCOTICS RECOVERED BY KATHUA POLICE AT DPS CHOWK RAJBAGH; 01 NARCO SMUGGLER ARRESTED; 01 TRUCK SEIZED.*

KATHUA, 23 FEB : To eradicate the menace of Drugs from the society and take stringent action against Drug Peddlers within district, Kathua Police today recovered approx. 17.5 Kilograms of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like narcotics at DPS Chowk area of P/S Rajbagh, 01 Narco- Smuggler arrested and narcotic substance as well as vehicle (Truck) got seized on the spot.

On 23.02-2023 a Police team led by Insp. Amit Sangra SHO P/S Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border Sh. Pankaj Soodan-JKPS during routine naka/patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area at DPS chowk Rajbagh noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle(Truck) bearing Reg. No. JK08AF-5181 which was driven by a person namely Gagan Kohli S/o Harbans Lal R/o Rajbagh who was signalled to stop for checking. During checking approx. 17.5 kilograms of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like narcotics were recovered from his possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance (Bhukki) as well as vehicle was seized and one person was arrested. On this a case FIR No. 42/2023 U/S 8/15/ NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh. Further investigation is underway.

The swift action by Kathua Police has been applauded by the General Public. SSP Kathua said that the strict & legal action against Drug Peddlers will continue in future also. People are requested to co-operate with Police in fighting the dreadful menace of Drugs.

*APPROX. 209 LOGS OF KHAIR WOOD RECOVERED/ SEIZED BY KATHUA POLICE AT RAILWAY ROAD HATLI ; 01 PERSON ARRESTED.*

KATHUA; 18 FEB:- Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Sh. Shivdeep Singh Jamwal-JKPS seized Truck laden with "Khair Wood" (Approx. 209 logs) at Railway Road Hatli which were allegedly stolen from the forest area of the district and 01 person was arrested alongwith said vehicle was seized in this connection.
On 18.02.2023 an information was received at PP Industrial Estates Kathua through reliably that one person namely Santab Kumar S/o Som Raj R/o Chakra Tehsil Bisnah Jammu was
indulged in the Smuggling/Theft of Banned Wood (Khair) of Forest Produce, and doing the illegal "Trade of Smuggling" of Wood(Khair) without any valid document and permission, which was loaded in a vehicle(Truck) bearing Reg. No. JK08B-6937 and proceeding from Jammu towards Punjab side.

Following a tip off about the smuggling of Khair wood, the police team of PP Industrial Estates Kathua PSI Swaran Singh Manhas IC PP Hatli under the guidance of DySP Headquarters Kathua Sh. Shammi Kumar JKPS laid a naka at Railway Road Hatli and intercepted the said Truck bearing Reg. No. JK08B-6937 at Railway Road Hatli and recovered/seized Truck laden with Khair Wood (approx. 209 logs) when asked for any valid permission the accused person could not produce any document related to the sale and purchase of the khair wood and therefore, the wood alongwith vehicle was seized and 01 accused person was arrested on the spot. A case vide FIR No. 66/2023 U/S 379/IPC, 26/33 Forest Act was registered at PS Kathua and further investigation was taken up.

*KATHUA POLICE NABBED 01 BOOTLEGGER WITH 18 BOTTLES OF JK EXCISE WHISKY AT MAROLI AREA*

Kathua, 16 FEB: District Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Sh. Shivdeep Singh Jamwal -JKPS have arrested one bootlegger and recovered/seized 18 bottles of JK Excise Whisky (750 ml each) illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station Lakhanpur at Marolli village.

On 15.02.2023 A police party led by Insp. Vijay Kotwal SHO P/S Lakhanpur under the supervision of DySP DAR Kathua Sh. Subash Chander during its naka/ checking duty in its jurisdictional area at Marolli Village, apprehended one person namely Baldev Singh S/o Girdhari Lal R/o Panyara who was wandering under suspicious circumstances.
On checking, a total of 18 bottles of JK Excise Whisky ( 750 ml each) were recovered from his possession who has been arrested and the recovered illicit liquor was also seized.The said accused was carrying illicit liquor for its sale at exorbitant rates in the Lakhanpur as well as adjoining area of District Kathua in order to gain illegitimate profit.

A case FIR No. 09/2023 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act was registered at PS Lakhanpur and investigation started.

Samba Police Detains Notorious Criminal “Raman” Under PSA

Samba : Notorious criminal “Raman” of Kathar Arnia, who is involved in 14 criminal cases including cases of murder, Arms Act, r**e, extortion, attempts to murder and theft, has been detained by Samba Police under Public Safety Act (PSA) in pursuance of detention order issued against him by District Magistrate Samba upon the dossier forwarded by Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba.

28-year-old notorious criminal Raman Kumar s/o Late Sh. Bodh Raj, a resident of village Kathar tehsil Arnia, district Jammu had been posing a grave threat to the public peace & tranquility and therefore, to prevent him from acting in any manner prejudicial to the maintenance of public order, SSP Samba had prepared a dossier enumerating his criminal activities/ involvements and forwarded the same to District Magistrate Samba who issued detention order.

Under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, the detention order against notorious criminal Raman has been executed by a police team headed by SHO PS Ramgarh Asha Nand under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Priyanka Kumari and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. The detenu has been lodged in District Jail Udhampur.

KATHUA; 04 FEB; Kathua Police continuing its drive on Drugs putting concrete efforts to eradicate the drugs menace and in consequence District Police Kathua today recovered/seized He**in(Chitta) like narcotics in the JD of PP Nagri and one person was arrested in this connection.
On the overall directions of SSP Kathua, Sh. Shivdeep Singh Jamwal -JKPS, today on 04.02.2023 a police team led by PSI Ravinder Thakur IC PP Nagri under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua Sh. Shammi Kumar JKPS laid down a naka/checking duty at Goond area, during naka checking they apprehended one suspect namely Sonu Kumar S/o Jagdish Chander R/o Sakta Chak Age:- 38 Yrs. On Physical search, approximately 07 grams of he**in(chitta) like narcotics was recovered from his illegal possession. On this ,a case FIR No. 40/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Kathua and further investigation is under process.

Shivdeep Singh Jamwal - JKPS today seized 02 Tractor alongwith Trolleys indulged in illegal transportation of construction material in the jurisdictional area of P/S Billawar at Bhini River*

*On 02.02.2023 A Police team headed by Insp. Sunil Sharma SHO PS Billawar under the supervision of the SDPO Billawar Sh. Arvind Kumar-JKPS during patrolling/checking duty in its jurisdictional area at Bhini river area seized 02 Tractor alongwith Trolleys bearing Reg. No.s JK08G-9915 being driven by Salim Ahmed S/o Talab Hussain R/o Pallan Tehsil Billawar and other tractor bearing Reg. No. JK08E-0407 being driven by Faiz Din S/o Salam Din R/o Beril who were indulged in illegal transportation of construction material(Sand) without any legal permission. Meanwhile said Tractor alongwith Trolleys indulged in illegal mining were seized & immediately handed over to the officials of Geological and Mining department Kathua for further legal proceedings.*

KATHUA;31JAN;*As a part of a public outreach programme "THANA DIWAS" an initiative of Government of J&K was organised in the JD of P/S Kathua & Rajbagh*

*The Thana Diwas Programme at P/S Kathua was chaired by SSP Kathua Sh. Shivdeep Singh Jamwal -JKPS alongwith DySP Headquarters Kathua Sh. Shammi Kumar JKPS, SHO P/S Kathua Insp. O P Chib and Other Police officers were also graced the occasion. DDC Vice Chairman Sh. Raghunandan Singh, DDC Nagri Sh. Sandeep Majotra, BDC Chairperson Nagri Sh. Khajan Chand, Chairman Muncipal Council Kathua Sh. Rajendra Singh Bubby, Singh Sabha President Kathua Sh. Charanjeet Singh, Member of Truck Union,Youth Federation, Sarpanches, Panches, Civil Society members,Members of Market/Shopkeepers Associations and respectable persons of the area were also present on the occasion.*
