A 22-year-old MBBS student committed su***de by jumping off a seven-storey building in Bidar district of Karnataka on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Srirama Kadagi.
According to police, Srirama was a final-year medicine student at the Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences (BRIMS). He was residing at the BRIMS hostel and committed su***de in the morning.
Police explain that Srirama hailed from Chitaguppa taluk of Bidar district. He was dejected and under depression after the death of his father. Srirama was the topper in the college. More details of the case are yet to emerge

Under the guidance of Shri Prithvik Shankar Assistant Superintendent of Police Bhalki Sub-Division and Shri Gurpada S Biradara CPI Rural Circle Bhalki under the jurisdiction of Bhalki Rural Police Station, Bhalki Sub-Division, Bidar District, Shri Chetana PSI, PSI of Bhalki Rural Police Station and the staff conducted an operation while they were transporting g***a, arrested the accused and recovered 57.60 kg from the accused. G***a A.K. 11,20,000/- Rs. Confiscated.

Officers and staff who worked hard in the said operation were given prizes and letters of appreciation. The operation of the district police to control crime in Bidar district continues.

Bidar- Air Commodore Abhijit Nene assumed charge

Air Commodore Abhijit Nene took charge as the Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Base Bidar at the Air Force Training Center in Bidar on Wednesday.

Outgoing Air Commodore Sameer Sondhi handed over the reins to Abhijit Nene in his office.

Air Commodore Abhijit Nene joined as a fighter pilot on 21 June 1993. He is a flight instructor with Cat A academic qualification. More than 5000 hours of flight experience. He has experience flying Jaguar, Hunter, Kiran and HPT 32 aircraft.

Trained at the National Defense Academy, Training College, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Army Combat Training Colleges at the Military Headquarters (Mahowu), Madhya Pradesh.

Before coming to Bidar, he served in the Air Force Trainer's School, Combat Tactics and Air Force Combat Art Research Institutes. He has served as head of Jaguar team and Signal team. He was honored with the Distinguished Service Medal.

He gained instant popularity after working with his tools on the Karnataka tableau at the Republic Day parade in 2011.

He spent nearly five decades in the art which he learned from his father Shah Mustafa Khadri, a skilled craftsman who was honored by the Nizam of Hyderabad.
