Trigger Warning: Sexual Offence

In an utterly disturbing incident, a Chandigarh University female student has been apprehended for recording naked videos of 60 female students taking a shower.

The incident came to highlight after some of the videos of the students were circulated over the internet. The female student who recorded the videos allegedly sent them to an unknown person in Shimla, who in turn uploaded the videos on some websites.

Some of the students affected female students have allegedly attempted su***de, however, the claims are being rejected by Punjab Police Chief Vivek Soni.

Senior Congress leader and former Rajyasabha opposition leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has resigned from all positions in the Congress party including primary membership.

In his resignation letter, the former congress leader alleged that a small "coterie" runs the All India Congress Committee (AICC). He also talked about the alleged attacks by this coterie on former Congress leader Kapil Sibbal.

Further, he alleged that the 23 senior Congress leaders who raised voices about the weaknesses of the party were abused, humiliated, insulted and vilified in the extended Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting.

In his tenure with the Congress, Ghulam Nabi Azad served as a chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and he also served as a minister in the cabinet of former prime minister Manmohan Singh.

Civil society members and political leaders in Ahmedabad protested today against the remission of Bilkis Bano's case culprits.

The protestors opposed the release of convicts from jail who were responsible for gang r**e and murder during the Gujarat riots in 2002.

The protests were attended by leaders from the SUCI Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), Congress, AIMIM, Women's rights organisations and members of the civil society.

Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of Alt News has been arrested by Delhi police.

According to Pratik Sinha, founder of Alt News, Zubair was called for an investigation by a special cell of Delhi police for a case registered against him in 2020. He already had protection from the Highcourt for that case.

Zubair has been arrested for a different FIR filed against him, for which the copy has allegedly not been given despite multiple requests from the founder of Alt News.

Zubair is a well-known face in the Journalism fraternity for busting fake news through his crusading fact checks.

Bail has been granted in Bulli Bai Case to three accused namely Omkareshwar Thakur, Niraj Bishnoi and Neeraj Singh. They were arrested by the Mumbai police for conducting a virtual auction of prominent Muslim women.

The three were arrested along with Shweta Singh, Mayank Rawat, Mayank Agarwal and Vishal Kumar Jha for creating "Bulli Bai" and "Sulli Deals" apps and conducting virtual auctions of prominent Muslim women including social activists and journalists.

The bail has been granted by the sessions court of Mumbai. The other co-accused were granted bail in April by Bandra metropolitan court.

Asaduddin Owaisi paid a visit to the house of Mudassir, who was shot dead by the police in Ranchi during protests against BJP leader Nupur Sharma for her remarks.

Owaisi has alleged that the police have not registered an FIR or taken any action.

The country witnessed massive protests on 10th June, demanding the arrest of Nupur Sharma, the Ex-spokesperson of the BJP.

After detaining her mother and sister, UP police has started demolition of the house of activist Afreen Fatima. Her father along with her is alleged by the UP police to be the conspirator of protests against Nupur Sharma in Allahabad.

After protests on Friday against Nupur Sharma in Allahabad, the UP government served a demolition notice to the house of the activist. The house has started to be demolished with heavy police presence.

Afreen Fatima is one of the faces of the Anti-CAA movement and a student of the Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Two sons of an Ex-army man, who belong to the Christian minority community, have allegedly been victims of police brutality in Ahmedabad along with their friends. One of his sons has faced severe eye damage along with a head injury and was already suffering from epilepsy for a long time.

After an international row over blasphemous remarks against the Islamic Prophet, Mumbai police have ordered to summon the Ex-spokesperson of BJP Nupur Sharma one of the FIRs filed against her. She will appear in front of the court on 22nd June.

Nupur Sharma became the centre of controversy after her remarks against Prophet Muhammad in a live debate show on the "Times Now" news channel. This has sparked outrage on an international level.

So far, more than a dozen Islamic countries have shown their dissent against the same.

A progressive poet and freedom fighter, who believed in gender equality and religious pluralism, today marks the birth anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam, who received the title of "Bidrohi Kavi" or "Rebel Poet."

It would be unjustified to describe him as just a poet, as Nazrul's life has been very interesting. Nazrul knew both "Deen" (Religion) and "Duniya" (The material world). He used to work as a Muezzin at a local mosque and he also explored the philosophy of Islam. Nazrul actively took part in the Indian freedom struggle and criticized British rule. He also worked as a journalist and a musician. He had contributed significantly to devotional music and literature.

Nazrul was a staunch supporter of religious pluralism and gender equality. A poem of him says,

I don't see any difference
Between a man and woman
Whatever great or benevolent achievements
That is in this world
Half of that was by women,
The other half by man.

Indeed we are indebted to the land of Bengal for producing such gems.

May 15 is marked as "Nakba Day" by the Palestinians around the world, referring to the mass exodus and ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people in May 1948, during the Palestinian war.

During the exodus, more than 750000 Palestinians were turned into refugees in their own land. Hundreds of villages were destroyed, killing more than 15000 Palestinians.

A famous Palestinian saying says, "The Nakba did not end in 1948", referring to the oppression of the Palestinian people.

The supreme court of India has passed an order granting an interim stay against IPC Section 124A (Sedition Law).

While the Supreme court is in the process of considering the constitutionality of the Sedition law, the Apex court has directed the state and central governments to not register any FIR, continue any investigations and take any coercive actions under the provisions of the Sedition law.

The supreme court has also directed the central and state governments to prevent misuse of the law. Relief shall also be granted to those who face fresh charges under this law.

The above directions will continue till the Supreme Court passes a further order.

Eight written petitions were filed in the Supreme court, challenging the constitutionality of the law.
