The Rajouri- Thanna Mandi road which is under construction from Last more than four years is in pathetic and deplorable condition especially within the municipal limits of town. Speaking to media several prominent locals including Haji Maqbool Raina, Shokat Shawl, Shamim Ahmed Mughal and several others told that we have appealed the administration as well as GREF authorities several times but all in vain due to the negligent and careless attitude of both administration as well as GREF authorities.
Large Scale Huge Potholes are seen in the middle of the road due to which the locals are suffering badly as the vehicles are damaged on regular basis due to worst condition of the road and huge losses have already occurred due to the negligence of administration
The Locals have demanded that if the road is not made suitable for vehicles within a week's time we will start a massive protest and local administration will be solely responsible for that

*Cluster Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian Poonch Celebrates 1st Bag Less Day*
*Sawjian, Poonch, May 21, 2024*– Today, under the directions of the Chief Education Officer Poonch and following the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Cluster Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian Poonch celebrated its first Bag Less Day. This initiative, as part of NEP 2020 and the National Vocational Education Curriculum, promotes ten bag less days to enhance experiential learning and reduce the burden of school bags for students. The event was organized by Cluster Head Anwar Khan for the schools within their cluster.
Various engaging and educational activities were conducted across 43 schools in the Sawjian Cluster to mark this day. The main event took place at the premises of Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian Poonch, where students from neighboring schools participated in multiple activities, including an ICT Lab exposure visit. During this visit, students were introduced to a range of educational ICT tools and shown class-appropriate animated videos, enhancing their digital literacy and learning experience.
Additionally, a sports competition involving various schools was organized to promote life skills such as collaboration, cooperation, communication, and emotional management. Students from GMS Sawjian participated in a variety of sports including Tug of War, Badminton, Kho Kho, Bori Race, and Hand Power. These activities were designed to foster teamwork and physical fitness among the students.
Principal Anwar Khan, who supervised the entire event, expressed his optimism about the positive outcomes anticipated from this initiative, aligning with the objectives of NEP 2020. The event's success was ensured through the active participation and efforts of faculty members Parvez Khan, Asish Gupta, Imran Khan, Khadam Hussain, and Jagandeep Singh.
