WEA celebrated the shining star of today:
Bhavya Lal, the Indian-American scientist who oversaw NASA’s transition under President Joe Biden’s administration, has been appointed as the Acting Chief of Staff of the U.S. space agency.

According to NASA, Ms Lal brings “extensive experience” in engineering and space technology, serving as a member of the research staff at the Institute for Defence Analyses Science and Technology Policy Institute (STPI) from 2005 to 2020.

She is an active member of the space technology and policy community, having chaired, co-chaired, or served on five high-impact National Academy of Science committees.
She is a member of both nuclear engineering and public policy honour societies.

Captain Zoya Aggarwal turned a new leaf in Indian aviation history.
The longest flight over the North Pole is another feather in Captain Zoya's cap as she was also the youngest woman pilot to fly a Boeing-777 in 2013. She became the first woman commander of Air India to command flight over the North Pole with an all-women cockpit crew.

The other female pilots in the flight were Capt Papagari Thanmai, Capt Akansha Sonaware and Capt Shivani Manhas.
“I felt on top of the North Pole” said an elated Capt Zoya.
