*POLICE ORGANIZES AWARENESS RALLY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE IN AWANTIPORA.*

Awantipora 30 March 2024:

Police in Awantipora have organized an awareness rally against drug abuse . The rally was attended by students, Trader federation and Youth/respectables of Awantipora area.

The awareness rally was flagged off by SDPO Awantipora Shri Mumtaz Ali Bhatti-JKPS along with Tehsildar Awantipora & SHO Awantipora. The rally passed through various routes of Sub-division Awantipora and culminated near Dogripora Crossing Awantipora.

The main aim of the rally was to spread awareness about ill effects of drug abuse and its consequences.

SDPO Awantipora on the event appealed the general public to join hands with Police in fighting against the abuse of drug & related substances to eliminate this social evil from the society. The participants were holding banners and placards in their hands with messages against drug abuse and raised slogans against the social evil and pledged to join their hands to eradicate this menace from the society.

Police Awantipora arrested long evading absconders

Awantipora 21 March 2024:

Awantipora Police have arrested absconders who were evading their arrests for long time.

Two warrants under section 512 Crpc issued by Hon'ble Court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Pulwama and Hon’ble Munsif Court Pulwama pending with police station Awantipora against below mentioned 02 accused persons namely :
1) Tariq Ah Lone S/O Late Ab Khaliq Lone R/O Karphali Mohalla Shaheedgunj A/P Khanyar . And
2)Gulzar Ahmad Chechoo
S/O Gh Rasool R/O Aabi Nowpora Dalgate were executed and both persons
who were evading their arrests from last 34 years and 27 years respectively and who were involved in case FIR NOs 142/1989 and 130/1996 of Police Station Awantipora were arrested by a special Police team under the supervision of Shri Mumtaz Ali Bhatti ( SP) , SDPO Awantipora and consisting of SHO Awantipora Inspr Zahoor Ahmed among others .Subsequently, the arrested accused persons were produced before the respective Hon’ble Court of Law.

Similarly, a special team of police station Tral ( Awantipora ) under supervision of SDPO Tral Shri Suhail Ahmed Rishi and consisting of SHO PS Tral Inspr Sabzar Ahmed among others also executed a warrant under section 512 crpc issued by Hon'ble court of JMIC Court Tral against an accused namely Abdul Samad Malla Inqelabi son of Late Ab Rehman Malla resident of Gunistan Sumbal who was evading his arrest from last 07 years and was involved in case FIR No. 49/2017 of Police Station Tral .The accused person was arrested from Gunistan Sumbal area. Subsequently, the arrested accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Law.

Our consistent actions against anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police has resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri chairs meeting to finalize Stamp Duty Rates

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 25: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, chaired a crucial meeting to deliberate upon and finalize the stamp duty rates in the district, here today.

During the meeting, the Revenue Officers provided a comprehensive analysis of the existing stamp duty rates and apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the percentage of hike proposed in different areas under their respective jurisdictions. They also presented detailed justifications for the proposed increase in stamp duty rates.

A threadbare discussion was held on the valuation rates received from various rural and urban areas within the Rajouri District. The purpose of this discussion was to ensure a fair and equitable determination of stamp duty rates that reflect the prevailing market dynamics and property values in different regions of the district.

The Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal emphasized the importance of striking a balance between the need for revenue generation and the overall well-being of the residents. He stressed that the revised stamp duty rates should be reasonable and reflective of the market conditions, while also considering the socio-economic factors impacting the local population.

The Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal further highlighted the significance of stamp duty as a crucial source of revenue for the government, enabling it to undertake various developmental initiatives for the welfare of the inhabitants of the district. He expressed his commitment to ensuring a transparent and efficient stamp duty system that aligns with the vision of the Government to promoting a robust and sustainable real estate sector.

District Development Commissioner Rajouri reviews implementation of PMAY-U

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 25: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to review the progress made under the Prime Minister's Awas Yojana (Urban) scheme in the Urban areas of the district.

During the meeting, it was revealed that substantial progress has been achieved in the implementation of the scheme, with 903 houses completed out of the targeted 2,155 houses. In light of this, the District Development Commissioner emphasized the need for a mission-oriented approach to ensure the successful implementation of the housing scheme.

To further strengthen the ex*****on of the project, the officers were directed to adopt a dedicated and proactive mindset, channeling their efforts towards meeting the set targets. The District Development Commissioner stressed the importance of timely completion of the remaining houses, emphasizing that no complacency or negligence would be tolerated.

Furthermore, the District Development Commissioner placed significant emphasis on the quality of material used in the construction of houses. He also highlighted the importance of adhering to stringent quality standards, ensuring that the houses are not only affordable but also durable and sustainable. The Municipal Council of Rajouri inaugurates a newly constructed banquet hall near New Busstand.

Rajouri: Today, Municipal Council Rajouri, under the dynamic and vibrant leadership of Mohammed Arif advocate, along with Vice President Bharat Bushan Vaid and in the presence of councillor Rabia Qureshi of the Municipal Council including Yogesh Sharma Advocate, Pushpinder Gupta, inaugurated a marriage cm banquet hall at Salani near New Busstand Rajouri with an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore. The inaugural function was also attended by the Municipal Council officials, including CEO Mohammad Mushtaq, DDO MC Rajouri Mohammed Qasim, other respectable guests & various officials of MC Rajouri. While talking to the media persons, Mohammad Arif said that it was a long-pending demand of the inhabitants of Jawahar Nagar, Gujjar Mandi Rajouri, Muradpur Phalyana, Dhanidhar Thudi Kapakha, Kheora Atti, and other residents of Rajouri Town who have been facing several difficulties at the time of marriages, retirement, or any other social or religious functions in which a large gathering attends the function and also celebrates the occasion, but due to the non-availability of the banquet hall, people are facing difficulties while celebrating these functions. POLICE ATTACHED PROPERTY OF NOTORIOUS DRUG PEDDLER IN AWANTIPORA :

Awantipora 13 November 2023:

Continuing its action against drug peddlers Awantipora Police today attached one double -storied, residential house valuing approximately twelve Lacs belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Bakhtawar Ahmad Makroo S/o Late Ab Rehman Makroo R/o Gulzarpora Awantipora under section 68-Fof NDPS Act 1985.

The residential house was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police Awantipora. The property was prima facie accrued from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic Substances by the owner.

Pertinently the said Drug peddler is involved in Case FIR NOs:-
i) 20/2017 u/s 15/18 NDPS Act of PS Awantipora
ii) 30/2022 u/s 8/15NDPS Act Of PS Awantipora.
The notorious drug peddler is currently detained under PIT-NDPS Act and is lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu.
This operation reaffirms the commitment of Awantipora Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Awantipora Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property, which has been raised/ used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the Police District Awantipora.

Municipal Council Rajouri started the Garbage Free Rajouri Town Eak Tareek , Eak Ghanta, Eak Sath Compaign.

Rajouri :- Today, the Municipal Council of Rajouri, under the dynamic leadership of President Mohammed Arif, started the 'Garbage Free Rajouri Town' Campaign. This campaign has been jointly launched in each of Rajouri's wards with the active assistance of each ward's councillor including Vice President Municipal Council Rajouri Bharat Bushan cleanliness drive at Jawahar Nagar park, market & adjoining area, Councillor Mushtaq Manhas cleanliness drive at Gujjar Mandi Ward no 02 , Councillor Iftikhar Ali Dar Bella Park & its adjoining area ward no 03 , Councillor Rabia Qureshi New Bus Stand Salani & adjoining area ward No 04 etc .

While launching the campaign, Mohammad Arif said every countryman is now responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for a nationwide cleanliness drive, and people from all walks of life were seen participating in the nation-wide cleanliness campaign. Mr. Arif said everybody knows that in a recent episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, our Prime Minister has appealed to everyone for "one hour of shramdaan for swachhata" on October 1 by all citizens and said it would be a "Swachhanjali" to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birth anniversary on October 1st . He said the removal of trash from all significant locations, including schools, residential Hostels like Pahari & Gujjar Hostel, colleges, and healthcare facilities, as well as the maintenance, painting, cleaning, and branding of all sanitation assets, such as trash cans, public restrooms, and waste delivery vehicles, would fall within the municipal town area. He said our Municipal Council will continue cleanliness drives and awareness activities in schools with children. He further said it is the duty of everyone to keep the city clean and join hands in this garbage-free Rajouri Town campaign to provide impetus for the implementation of the Swach Bharat Mission. RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 15: In a proactive effort to enhance road safety and minimize road mishaps within the district, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, convened a pivotal meeting of the District Road Safety committee.

Officers who attended the meeting were ADC Rajouri, Rajeev Kumar Khajuria; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ASP, Vivek Shekhar; SE PWD(R&B), Vikram Singh; CEO Education, Sultana Kouser; CMO, Dr. Rajinder Sharma; ARTO, Pawan Sharma; XEN PWD (R&B) Rajouri, Sardar Khan; XEN PWD(R&B) Nowshera, VK Raina and other concerned officers.

At the outset of the meeting, the District Roll out Manager, Pankaj Sabharwal, delivered a comprehensive presentation on i-RAD/e Dar, elucidating the multifaceted facets of road safety and the proactive steps being taken to curtail road accidents in the district.

Additionally, it was disclosed that a total of 287 accidents have been recorded in the district since July 2022, all of which have been documented and uploaded onto the i-RAD platform for comprehensive analysis and action. The committee extensively discussed awareness campaigns, the establishment of a trauma center, the identification of black spots, and the installation of crash barriers, among other crucial measures aimed at bolstering road safety.

The Deputy Commissioner while emphasizing the paramount importance of widespread public awareness, underscored the significance of averting road accidents, injuries, and fatalities. He encouraged the stakeholder departments to champion a culture of mutual respect among road users, emphasizing the imperative need for drivers to prioritize safety precautions for themselves and fellow citizens.

The Deputy Commissioner mandated medical checkups for all drivers employed by private schools providing transportation services. This measure aims to prioritize the health and safety of these drivers and the students they transport. He also called for a thorough safety audit of all privately owned vehicles used for school transportation. This audit is crucial to ensure the safety of students and the reliability of these vehicles.

In a resolute move to enforce road safety norms, the DC asked the Traffic and Motor Vehicle Departments to hold special drives to rigorously monitor traffic rule violations and to impose stringent penalties on offenders.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to the promotion of road safety and the overall well-being of the citizens of the district. These comprehensive measures, discussed and endorsed during the meeting, are being executed with full force, effectively transforming road travel within the district into a safer and more secure experience for all.
