An explosion ripped through a Hamas militant site in the central Gaza Strip on Thursday, Palestinian authorities said, killing one militant and seriously wounding another.The Gaza-based interior ministry did not reveal the cause of the blast but said it killed Ashraf Hussein, a member of Hamas' military wing, the Qassam Brigades. The Qassam Brigades acknowledged that Hussein was killed in what the group described as an accidental explosion.

Iran's defense ministry has unveiled a drone called the Mohajer-10, which resembles the American MQ-9 Reaper. The drone is said to have a 24-hour flight capability and the range to reach Israel. It can fly up to 24,000 feet, carry a bomb payload of up to 300 kilograms, and has the ability to carry surveillance equipment and a camera. The United Nations and Syria have reached an agreement to reopen the Bab al-Hawa crossing between Turkey and northwest Syria for six months, after the UN Security Council failed to adopt a resolution to authorise further deliveries through the border crossing on July 11. The crossing is used for 85% of deliveries to the northwest Idlib region, home to about 4.1 million people, who rely heavily on aid.
