A spine chilling video has gone viral on social media, capturing a moment when a girl narrowly avoided a lightning strike while creating a video on her neighbor's terrace in Sitamarhi, Bihar. The incident occurred during the ongoing monsoon season, a time of frequent and heavy rains in the region.
In the footage, the girl, identified as Sania Kumari, is seen dancing in the rain on the rooftop of Devnarayan Bhagat's home in Sirsia Bazar, Parihar. While she was enjoying the rain and dancing for the camera, lightning struck the terrace alarmingly close to her. Miraculously, she was not hit directly and managed to run to safety, escaping without injury.
The Indian Meteorological Department has indicated that the rainfall will continue in the district, with an expected five to twenty millimeters of rain daily over the next several days.
Local agriculture is benefiting from this weather, particularly the farmers who welcome the rain for their paddy, maize, moong, and sugarcane crops. The recent showers have also revitalized the drying paddy nurseries and vegetable fields, promising a lush growth period ahead.

Refusing to say "Jai Hindi", All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi stirred controversy on Tuesday by concluding his oath-taking in the 18th Lok Sabha with the slogan "Jai Palestine." Owaisi, who was re-elected as MP from Hyderabad parliamentary constituency, took the oath in Urdu and ended it with slogans – ‘Jai Bheem, Jai Telangana, Jai Palestine’.
The move sparked a massive row with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders alleging it is against "the rules of the House"
'The slogan 'Jal Palestine' given by AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi in Parliament today is absolutely wrong. This is against the rules of the House. He does not say 'Bharat Mata ki Jal' while living in India. People should understand that he does unconstitutional work while living in the country," says Union minister G Kishan Reddy.
Defending his remarks, Owaisi said the slogan he concluded his oath taking with did not violate any provisions in the Constitution. "Everyone is saying a lot of things. I just said "Jai Bhim, Jal Meem, Jal Telangana, Jai Palestine" How it is against, show the provision in the Constitution," said Asaduddin Owaisi.
Later, BJP MP Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar stoked controversy as he said 'Jai Hindu Rashtra, Jai Bharat' during oath-taking ceremony on the second day of Parliament session. This led to an uproar in the house, with opposition parties criticizing the statement as unconstitutional and against the principles of the Constitution.

What's going to happen next? Place your bets!
Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress chief, dismissed the accuracy of recent exit polls for the Lok Sabha elections, characterizing them as influenced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not reflective of true voter sentiment. "These aren't exit polls; they're Modi media polls. They represent his fantasy," Gandhi remarked to the press. His comments came in response to exit polls that predict a significant victory for the BJP-led NDA.
When queried about the expected performance of the Congress-led INDIA alliance, Gandhi referenced the song "295" by Sidhu Moose Wala, suggesting the alliance would secure 295 seats. This number stands in stark contrast to exit poll projections which place the INDIA bloc's potential seat count between 131 and 166, despite anticipated gains in states like Karnataka, Telangana, and Rajasthan.
The skepticism shared by Gandhi was echoed in a recent meeting of the INDIA bloc parties in Delhi, where leaders reviewed their strategies in anticipation of the vote count on June 4. Here, they expressed confidence in surpassing the 295-seat mark necessary to form a government. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge supported this optimism by referring to it as "people's survey," a direct collection of feedback from constituents, as opposed to the more favorable figures presented by government and certain media outlets.
Kharge emphasized, "The INDIA bloc is poised to win more than 295 seats, a conclusion we've reached after discussions with all our leaders. This isn't just speculation; it's grounded in what people have told us directly, unlike the inflated figures often circulated by government surveys and media."

The water crisis has become too real to ignore in Delhi as people across areas were seen scrambling with empty buckets to water tankers, some even jumping the queue to fill their vessel.
Visuals from Chanakyapuri's Sanjay Camp area showed people carrying pipes, rushing towards the water tanker, some even climbing on its top to fill their buckets.
Due to the water crisis, people are facing problems in many areas of Delhi. Water is being supplied to the people through tankers, as a result the Delhi government has moved the Supreme Court to seek a direction to Haryana to supply more water to the crisis-hit national capital, sources said on May 31.
The AAP government in Delhi has told the top court that the water demand in the city has risen significantly due to heatwave conditions, and neighbouring Haryana be directed to release extra water for a month, they said.
In its petition in Supreme Court, Delhi said that the need for water has increased in the national capital amid sweltering heat.
Delhi Minister Atishi also wrote to the Centre claiming that Haryana has not been releasing the required amount of water.
"Delhi is heavily dependent on water from the Yamuna river for its day-to-day demand for water. However, since the last few days, there has been a drastic dip in the water levels at the Wazirabad Barrage as Haryana is not releasing the required amount of water in the Yamuna river," Atishi said in a letter Union Water Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
"Moreover, the temperature in Delhi has touched almost 50 degrees. This has further intensified the demand for water," she added.

Panic spread in an Uttar Pradesh town when a ten-foot crocodile crawled out of a canal and wandered into the nearby area on Wednesday. In videos, recorded by frightened locals, the large reptile is seen attempting to climb over a railing near the canal.
The crocodile ventured out of the Ganga canal near Narora Ghat in UP's Bulandshahr. The locals informed the police and forest department who arrived on the spot to catch the crocodile.
As the officials attempted to capture the reptile, the crocodile was seen trying to climb over an iron railing in an attempt to return to the water. Failing to do so, the frantic crocodile lands on the ground and tries to scurry away.
To catch the crocodile, the forest officials covered its head in a cloth and tried to tie its limbs to stop the animal from attacking the rescue team.
Minutes later, ropes were brought in to tie its legs, videos show. As four forest officials held on to the ropes holding the crocodile's head and front legs, another official looped a piece of rope around its hind legs.
Two officials lifted the crocodile's tail while others tied a rope around its mouth. The crocodile was rescued after a few hours and released into the canal, officials said.

A helicopter carrying seven passengers, mostly pilgrims, made an emergency landing due to a technical snag on a hill slope a right besides the helipad in Uttarakhand. The incident occurred early Friday morning after the helicopter took off from the Sirsi helipad, headed for Kedarnath.
A video circulating online shows the helicopter circling just above the helipad before making a controlled landing near a Himalayan temple. The unexpected maneuver caused alarm among people on the ground. According to Rudraprayag District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar, the emergency landing was necessitated by a malfunction in the helicopter's rear motor. The pilot's quick thinking and calm response helped avoid a potentially severe accident.
The helicopter, operated by Kestrel Aviation, was approximately 100 meters from its intended landing spot at the Kedarnath Dham helipad when the pilot had to bring it down at 7:05 AM. Investigations into the exact nature of the technical problem are ongoing.
This year's Char Dham Yatra, which began on May 10, attracts numerous pilgrims to the region. The pilgrimage involves visiting four sacred shrines—Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath—in a specific sequence. The journey, significant for its religious importance in Hinduism, typically extends from April-May to October-November each year.
In response to the large influx of pilgrims, the Uttarakhand government now requires all visitors to register online before embarking on the Char Dham Yatra, as offline registration in Haridwar and Rishikesh has been discontinued. This measure aims to better manage the crowd and ensure the safety and organization of the pilgrimage.

A video showcasing a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier using the extreme desert heat to roast a papad has gone viral. Filmed in the arid landscapes of Bikaner, Rajasthan, where temperatures recently soared near-50°C, the video demonstrates the soldier's ingenuity in utilizing the sand as a makeshift oven. The clip vividly illustrates the intense heat conditions faced by the troops stationed at the India-Pakistan border, as the papad emerges crispy as if cooked in a traditional furnace.
The video has resonated with viewers, prompting many on social media to express admiration and respect for the Jawans who endure such harsh environments with steadfast dedication. This display of resourcefulness not only highlights the soldier's adaptability but also brings attention to the challenging conditions under which military personnel operate.
Amidst this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Bikaner and other districts including Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota, forecasting severe heatwave conditions. Similar alerts have been extended to parts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Haryana, with temperatures in these regions expected to approach 48°C. According to the IMD, these oppressive heatwave conditions are set to continue for the next five days, underscoring the urgent need for precautions among the residents and personnel deployed in these areas.
While the people wait for the Monsoons to provide them with relief from the sweltering heat, the next few days are expected to be very difficult for the people in North India as the challenge of heatwaves and rising temperature threatens to derail life.

In a highly unusual event, a police vehicle drove into the emergency ward of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Tuesday to arrest a nursing officer accused of molesting a female doctor. This incident, captured in a viral video, shows a white police SUV navigating through the crowded ward, while security personnel moved patients on stretchers aside to clear a path.
The nursing officer, identified as Satish Kumar, allegedly molested the doctor on Sunday evening within the hospital premises and sent her an obscene text message, according to Rishikesh Kotwali SHO Shankar Singh Bisht. The actions led to significant unrest among the resident doctors, who protested outside the office of the Dean Academics on Monday, calling for decisive action against Kumar.
Following these protests, a case was registered, leading to Kumar's suspension and subsequent arrest on Tuesday evening. The situation escalated as resident doctors continued their demonstrations into Wednesday, demanding not just suspension but the complete termination of Kumar's employment. They also called for disciplinary action against assistant nursing superintendent ANS Sinoj for assigning Kumar to duty after the incident.
The protests have had a tangible impact on hospital operations, with emergency services and most operation theatres remaining functional, but a significant number of senior and junior doctors have gone on strike. The Medical Superintendent, Sanjiv Kumar Mittal, stated that a formal request for Kumar’s dismissal has been submitted to higher authorities, and a notice has been issued to Sinoj, requiring him to respond within 72 hours. This situation underscores the tension between maintaining hospital operations and addressing serious personnel issues within a major healthcare facility.

'Violent' is not exactly the term that hits one's mind when they hear about cows. In fact, these nurturing creatures are usually considered calm and gentle. However, that in NO way, shape or form, means that a brutal hit by them will also be a 'gentle' one. Proving somewhat the same, an unforeseen incident unfolded, where an ugly collision between a cow and some young girls left the internet concerned for both parties. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed nearby, the footage of which went viral.
Judging by the clip, it appeared as if the cow was running away from the one running behind it, but lost control and ended up hitting the girls. The said girls, on the other hand, were simply sitting near a shop on the roadside. As soon as the accident happened, people stepped in, to save the girls, whereas the cow backed away. The date and location of the clip could not be confirmed.
The video, almost instantly, went viral on social media. Most people were concerned over the little girl's and the animal's well-being, while the rest cracked a few jokes by dubbing it 'rushed milk delivery'.
The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle 'CCTV IDIOTS'. The post read, "Milk delivered."
Taking to the comment section, people shared their take.
"OMG.. Must be hurt badly," a user said. "That poor kid got injured without her fault," commented a second person. "I thought flying cows were only in children's books," added a third person. "Someone should check up on that little girl. I just hope she is good," commented the fourth person.
"When you order fresh from the cow with a rush delivery," added a fifth user. "Hope the girl is fine. That hit looked really bad. Plus, after the girl fell down, the heavy animal was still above it. The animal did not do it deliberately, yet the girl was surely hurt, even the cow was hurt," added another.

A portal linking New York City to Dublin via a livestream has been temporarily shut down after inappropriate behavior ensued, according to the Dublin City Council.
Less than a week after the 24/7 visual art installation was put in place, officials have opted to close it down temporarily after people began to flash each other, grind on the portal, and one person even shared pictures of the twin tower attack to people in New York City. Alternatively, the portal had also been the site of reunions with old friends and even a proposal, with many documenting their experience with the installation online.
The Dublin City Council said that although those engaged in the inappropriate behavior were few and far between, videos of said behavior went viral online.
"While we cannot control all of these actions, we are implementing some technical solutions to address this and these will go live in the next 24 hours," the council said in a Monday statement. “We will continue to monitor the situation over the coming days with our partners in New York to ensure that portals continue to deliver a positive experience for both cities and the world.”
The New York City portal is next to the Flatiron Building while Dublin’s is at the crux of North Earl Street and O’Connell Street.
What is the portal?
The portal was launched on May 8 as a way to bring people together via technology.
“Portals are an invitation to meet people above borders and differences and to experience our world as it really is—united and one,” said Benediktas Gylys, the Lithuanian artist and founder of The Portal. “The livestream provides a window between distant locations, allowing people to meet outside of their social circles and cultures, transcend geographical boundaries, and embrace the beauty of global interconnectedness.”
The Dublin portal is set to connect with other cities and destinations in Poland, Brazil, and Lithuania. The connection with New York City is expected to remain th
In a shocking turn of events at a polling booth in Andhra Pradesh, a YSR Congress Party MLA slapped a voter after he allegedly objected to the legislator jumping the queue at a polling station in Guntur on Monday. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The altercation escalated as the voter retaliated by slapping and punching the MLA, after which Shivakumar's supporters began assaulting the voter.
This incident has stirred controversy and was highlighted by Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla, who criticized the behavior of the MLA from YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's party, labeling it as "arrogance & goondagardi."
The incident occurred amidst active voting for the Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh state assembly elections, which began at 7 am. Reports of electoral violence have marred the polling process, with the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) accusing the ruling YSRCP of engaging in violent tactics like kidnapping their poll agents and assaulting several others, disrupting the voting process.

Prominent figures, including Governor S Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, were among the early voters on this contentious polling day in the state.
