🟡CLAIM: Guanzon and Hontiveros oppose the Maharlika Wealth Fund due to personal reasons

A YouTube channel named ‘BALITAAN NG BAYAN TV’ posted a video on December 6, 2022, claiming that P3PWD Partylist Nominee Rowena Guanzon and Senator Risa Hontiveros are only opposing the proposed Maharlika Wealth Fund because of personal reasons.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆.

The video made it appear that the Maharlika Wealth Fund does not warrant criticism. It focused only on criticizing anti-Marcos sentiment, suggesting that this is the only argument the bill’s critics have. (Love Joy Salvador)

A page named ‘President Bongbong Marcos’ posted a picture of activists in UP Diliman with visuals and placards of Jose Maria ‘Joma’ Sison with the caption “Bayani ng UP Diliman si Joma Sison? 🤨🤦.”

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚.

Sison was an alumnus and former professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman. He was the founder and ex-chairperson of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP). He passed on December 16, 2022; but UP Diliman has never officially called him a hero. (Nechole Jayne Garcia)

🟢 TRUE: Cebu Pacific "stopover" at the peak of Mayon Volcano

On December 7, a page named Panay News posted a photo by uploader Javin Rubillar showing a Cebu Pacific A320 airplane flying perfectly aligned at the top of Mayon volcano, as if having a stopover at its peak.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗘.

Rubillar clarified that the photo was enhanced and cropped, which is considered photo editing, but not manipulated. He used burst shot mode to capture the airplane’s take-off, shooting a rapid succession of images in a short time. (Kayla Hernandez)

The photo makes it seem as though the rice can be availed in all Kadiwa outlets, yet the caption says rice that costs P25/kg can only be availed in ‘Kadiwa ng Pasko’ food stalls that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. launched in different areas of the country. (Geo Niko Villarta)

Ayon sa isang video na pinost ng page na Jepoy TV, may natuklasang labintatlong klase ng ‘zombie virus’ na halos 48,500 taon nang napreserba mula sa nagugunaw na yelo sa Siberia, Russia. Kinumpirma sa video na ang mga virus ay nakakahawa.

𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘆 𝗡𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗟𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚.

Tinawag lang na 'zombie virus' ang mga ito dahil maikokonsidera na silang patay, dahil sa matagal na pagkatago sa yelo, ngunit binuhay muli ng mga mananaliksik upang magamit sa research.

A page named ‘Mga nagawa ni Ferdinand Marcos para sa Bayan’ posted a photo on Dec. 8 claiming that Canada is hiring “at least elementary graduate[s]” as cleanup workers to work 35-40 hours per week.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗦𝗘.

Neither the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) nor President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has announced anything related to what the post claimed.

On December 7, 2022, the Philippine Social Conservative Movement (PSCM) posted a public statement regarding the approval of the SOGIE Bill claiming that it provides “special treatment and privileges for the LGBT people.”

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗦𝗘.

The SOGIE Bill, specifically Section 3, acknowledges not just homosexuality and bisexuality as sexual orientations, but heterosexuality as well. No provision in the bill gives members of the LGBTQIA+ community any special privileges. (Jaymie Hailey Ang)
