Oldest Mosque in Islam
The Quba Mosque is the oldest mosque and one of the first in Islam. Not to be confused with the Kaaba which is the oldest sacred site in Islam. The Kaaba is not a mosque but a holy site located near the Great Mosque of Mecca.
But the old mosque was torn down and replaced with a new one.

The Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad, Iran is the largest mosque in the world by area. The shrine itself covers an area of 267,079m2 while the seven courtyards which surround it cover an area of 331,578m2 - totaling 598,657 m2 (6,443,890 sq ft).

World's Tallest Minaret
Djamaa el Djazair Mosque in Algiers, Algeria. It houses the world's tallest minaret in the world with 265 meters in height, which makes it the tallest building in Africa.
The design was done by German architects KSP Juergen Engel Architekten and engineers Krebs und Kiefer International.

Hajj Hackathon enters Book of Records, Muslim Pilgrimage created sensation.
The record breaking Hackathon with 2,950 participants, smashed the previous event that saw 2,577 people registered in India in 2012.
With the participation of 2,950 tech experts, developers and programmers from different parts of the world, Saudi Arabia’s first Hajj Hackathon became largest ever and entered the Record Books replacing India.

The largest gilded image on paper is 6m² (64.58ft) and was unveiled during the Aqlam calligraphy exhibition in Doha (Qatar), during an event organised by Fanar (Islamic Cultural Centre) in Doha (Qatar) on 14 March 2010. The record was broken during an exhibition at Fanar for the arabic calligraphy event called the Aqlam Exhibition. Fanar, who has held a previous Guinness World Records™ title, worked tirelessly along with the gilders and artists Ahmed Chocktan and Ekram Chocktan to set a new Guinness world records title, as this is the first record of its kind. The image measured by height and width was 2.97m x 2.10m (9ft 8.93in x 6ft 10.68in), totalling 6.2m² (64.58ft).

THE LARGEST ENCYCLOPEDIA
The largest encyclopedia is the 'Dubai Icon' which is 3.08 m (10 ft 1.25 in) in length and 3.20 m (10 ft 5.98 in) in width when closed, and was achieved by Aafaq Islamic Finance (UAE), as measured in Dubai, UAE, on 8 November 2016.
The entire encyclopedia weighs 6,500 kilograms. All 12 volumes of the encyclopedia were replicated.

The highest voltage from a fruit battery is 1,275.4 volts, achieved by Professor Saiful Islam (Pakistan/UK) and his team at the Royal Institution in London, UK, for the BBC Royal Institution Lectures, recorded on 13 December 2016 and broadcast on 29 December. The battery was wired together from 2,016 lemon halves and measured using a voltmeter supplied and calibrated by the National Physical Laboratory.
The lemon battery was built for the third and final lecture of the 2016 season, entitled "Supercharged: Fuelling the Future", which discussed various alternatives to carbon-based fuels and used lemons to explain the basic principles of the battery. The metals used for the electrodes were copper nails and magnesium strips.
Prof Islam was assisted by a team from the Royal Institution: Dave Ansell, Rosy Ansell, Andrew Brown, Joe Burton, Martin Davies, Samantha Durban, Jon Farrow, Peter Gallivan, Kate Mulcahy, Jemma Naumann, Phillipa Perrott, Grace Perry, Dave Porter, Evie Raynes, Helen Taylor and Catie Williams.

The bas-relief is 50.10 m long and 2.44 m tall. Mr Ali Alassad and his team spent 4,000 working hours to finish the copper bas-relief. The bas-relief reflects the history of Syria since 9 thousand years BC. until the present time. The copper bas-relief is surrounded by ornamental plant Islamic framework and includes a 78 portraits represent the most important archaeological finds in Syria throughout history.

On 28 September 2006, at a meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) defence ministers at Portoroz, Slovenia, the North Atlantic Council, NATO’s highest decision-making body, decided to approve the expansion of the International Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan, thus placing responsibility on ISAF for the whole country. The expansion will increase the size of the force to 30,000 to become NATO’s largest operation and most significant politico-military responsibility in its new role since the Cold War. Its responsibilities are: to assist the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s government in extending its authority and influence, so that the right conditions for stabilisation and reconstruction are created; to work with a Senior Civilian Representative, who is responsible for advancing the political-military aspects of NATO’s commitment with the Afghan government, other international organisations and neighbouring countries; and to assist with a programme of cooperation that concentrates on defence reform, defence institution building and the military aspects of security sector reform.

Thousands of software developers from 100 countries attend record-breaking hackathon
Thousands of software developers as well as computer and information-technology enthusiasts from more than 100 countries have taken part in a huge hackathon in Saudi Arabia.
The Hajj Hackathon in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, ran from 31 July-3 August and featured a successful record attempt by the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (Saudi Arabia) for Most participants in a hackathon with 2,950 people taking part.
The three-day gathering was held to propose new ways to adapt technology to make the Hajj a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for all who come to practice it.
The Hajj season is the greater Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, which takes place in the last month of the Islamic year. All Muslims are expected to make this journey at least once during their lifetime if they can afford to do so and it is one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

According to Forbes, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is thought to be the world’s richest and most well-funded terrorism and insurgency group, with a net worth estimated at US$2 bn (£1.64 bn), according to figures published in 2014. Much of the group’s money is thought to come from the illegal sale of oil – estimated to bring in millions of dollars per day – as well as smuggling, extortion and robbery. When it took control of the Iraqi city of Mosul in 2014, ISIS seized funds from the city’s bank worth in excess of US$300 m (£256 m).
There are now many well-funded insurgency groups in the world. According to Forbes, in second place to ISIS is the Palestinian militant group Hamas, with a net worth of US$1bn (£820m). Third is the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), a rebel army worth an estimated US$600 m (£492 m). Lebanese fighters Hezbollah are fourth on the Forbes list with $500 m (£410 m), while Afghanistan’s Taliban placed fifth on $400 m (£328 m).

The longest scratch art piece measured 27.10 m (88 ft 10.93 in) in length by 2.19 m (7 ft 2.22 in) in width and was achieved by 25 students from the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for the distinguished Academic Performance- Giftedness 2012 (UAE), at the Institute of Applied Technology, in Dubai, UAE, on 17 July 2012. The scratch art piece displays the history and heritage of Dubai, from the old city to the new. It is made up of 12 different panels, each panel was scratched by a students and revealing a unique set of colours beneath the black acrylic. The period of history included Old Arab, Ramadan, The five pillars of Islam, Heritage, Camel race, Desert Safari, Horse race, Creek of Dubai, Skyline of Dubai, the Metro, Malls and the Burj Khalifa. The initial colours were first painted on to the plastic canvas and then the black acrylic was applied. The students began the attempt at 9.30 a.m. and finished scratching and cleaning the scratch art piece at 6.30 p.m.
