गांधी भारत कार्यक्रम: जिला कलेक्टर मोहम्मद रोशन ने बेलगाम तालुक के शैक्षिक क्षेत्र (शहरी और ग्रामीण) में सरकारी, सहायता प्राप्त और गैर सहायता प्राप्त प्राथमिक और उच्च विद्यालयों के लिए 26 और 27 दिसंबर को छुट्टी की घोषणा की है।
बेलगाम शहरी और ग्रामीण योजना के आंगनवाड़ी केंद्रों में भी छुट्टी है।

The Indian National Congress held its 39th Session in Belagavi on December 26 and 27, 1924, a historic occasion marking the Congress's first assembly in Karnataka. The Karnataka Provincial Congress Committee had designated Belagavi as a suitable venue for this event in March 1924, recognizing its importance in India's political landscape. Belagavi had a rich history of contributing to key national movements, including hosting the 16th Bombay Provincial Conference in 1916, which facilitated unity between the Moderate and Nationalist factions of the Congress. This pivotal agreement ultimately led to the unification of both groups under the Congress banner during the subsequent session in Lucknow. Moreover, Belagavi was the birthplace of the Indian Home Rule League, founded by Lokmanya Tilak in 1916, highlighting the city's significant role in shaping India's struggle for independence.

In the midst of the grand celebrations of the Centenary Congress session, Belagavi's North constituency MLA, Asif (Raju) Sait, took a step forward in improving local infrastructure by inaugurating the construction of new gutters in Aman Nagar. This development initiative aims to address the longstanding issue of poor drainage and enhance the living conditions of residents in the area.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Aman Nagar, was a key moment in Sait’s ongoing commitment to the development of his constituency. During the event, he was joined by youth leader Amaan Sait, local political figures, and municipal officials, all of whom played a vital role in ensuring the smooth ex*****on of this project.

After the ceremony, MLA Sait, accompanied by the local leaders and officials, visited Rumini Nagar to assess the condition of the area and identify further development needs. His inspection focused on areas requiring immediate attention, with an emphasis on improving the drainage system and overall infrastructure.

Speaking to local media, Asif (Raju) Sait expressed his determination to continue pushing for developmental works that benefit the residents of Belagavi North. "Our priority is the welfare of the people. The construction of new gutters is just the beginning. We will continue to address other essential needs, including better roads, sanitation, and public amenities," he said.

Amaan Sait, a prominent youth leader, also shared his support for the project and emphasized the importance of youth involvement in local governance and development initiatives. "We are here to work alongside our leaders and ensure that the progress we make today benefits future generations as well," he remarked.

Local residents have expressed their appreciation for the MLA’s efforts, hoping that this project will significantly improve sanitation and reduce flooding during the monsoon season. Municipal officials also assured that the project would be completed on schedule and that similar development works are planned for other areas of the constituency.

This development work comes at a time when Belagavi is celebrating the historic Centenary Congress session, reinforcing the importance of both historical legacy and modern-day progress. MLA Sait’s actions reflect his dedication to the growth and betterment of his constituency, aligning with the broader objectives of sustainable development and civic welfare.
