‘Knowledge is power, power is knowledge.’
If we accept the above as true, then art and literature are the two main pillars of knowledge. Art and Literature is the prerequisite which is essential for people to learn, educate and grow. There is enough evidence in history showing us how people have been awed and impacted by the distinct art and literature present in each generation. However, with the
advent of modern times, competitive economies and technology have somehow overshadowed the power of art and literature. InWoke, inspired from the idea of a Zine; is a self-published compact magazine with a targeted circulation. It showcases content in a unique perspective, which is more appealing than mainstream platforms. Internet and its subsequent technology have made it easier to reach out to various audiences, making it convenient for consumption of such content. InWoke aspires to be different and unique in a way in which it offers readers easy access to our exclusive stories, opinions and insight with intriguing aesthetics which can be accessed from anywhere around the world. Egalitarianism seemed like a distant concept; hence to present a new, unbiased perspective, we have worked extensively on a few topics that discover some unseen aspects of our society and highlight how Art and Literature have a deeper influence on our understanding of these topics. The topics being explored are either growing issues or microscopic changes having gargantuan consequences on society at large. InWoke includes illustrations, writings, photographs and more modern-day content. The focus is on highlighting topics that are rarely covered; along with the blend of honesty, openness and awareness. Hence, having a group of like- minded people come together to support the creation of something, for numerous communities in existence, is very important and something that makes InWoke an exciting endeavour.
