As ICB completes 10 years of publishing, Dr Kiran Modi, Founder and Managing Trustee, Udayan Care, Chief Liaison Editor, ICB shares her view on the milestone achieved.

First and Only Journal on Alternative Care in South Asia: A Decade of Building Regional EvidenceHaving launched and nurtured the first of its kind journal in 2014, ICB (Institutionalised Children Explorations and Beyond), I am happy that in 2023 we are celebrating a decade of academic engagement on Alternative Care and Family Strengthening in South Asia. ICB as a journal is a journey of labour, ideas, inspirations and innovations, setting the context in the space of family strengthening and alternative care ‘for children without parental care’ and broadening its scope with every year.ICB as a platform has bridged the gap between policies, practices and research in Alternative care space in South Asian countries and I hope it continues to grow, and impact policy and practice, due to evidence creation, in this space in the coming years. With a strong partnership with SAGE Publishers, since 2020, we are sure ICB is gradually emerging as a must read resource for all stakeholders working on family strengthening and alternative care.
