We know that hydrogen will be an essential step in decarbonising the next generations of Endurance cars, and could also be for Formula 1 cars, particularly by switching to liquid storage for greater compactness and performance. The Alpenglow prototype perfectly illustrates this, a genuine technological laboratory for developing tomorrow’s hydrogen engines. Ever since the creation of the Alpine Alpenglow concept car presented in Paris in 2022, we have looked forward to fulfilling the promise made with such a unique object: taking it out on the track. This is now a reality. The Škoda Epiq will be the first production vehicle to feature a minimalist Modern Solid interior focusing on durable, practical and sustainable materials! The car will be released in 2025.
The dashboard will also be given a new look based on the Modern Solid design language.
Again there are traditional elements such as the two-spoke steering wheel, the 5.3-inch Virtual Cockpit behind it and the main 13-inch center infotainment display, but everything is linked by simpler and sleeker lines. The open storage area, for example, offers wireless mobile phone charging.
The boot also benefits from some of the brand’s hallmark Simply Clever details such as bag hooks, cargo elements, fastening hooks and a hidden underfloor compartment.
