The 1st NLIU-CRCLP Seminar on Competition Laws concluded with the valedictory ceremony on 24 April 2022, in the presence of Dr. Yogendra Srivastava (Dean Outreach Programs, HNLU Raipur), Dr. Ankit Singh (Assistant Professor, HNLU) and Mr. MAHENDRA SONI (Assistant Professor, NLIU) and all participants and members of the Center for Research in Competition Laws, NLIU.
Convener of the Conference, Mr. Mahendra Soni expressed his appreciation for all the participants, acknowledging their efforts into presenting such insightful papers and for becoming a part of the seminar at Bhopal. He also shared tips with the participants, including need to select topics as narrow as possible, highlighting how wide topics make it difficult for the presenters to throw light on all aspects of the research, leaving little scope to contribute something novel towards the topic.
Next, Dr. Yogendra Srivastava addressed the conference, also expressing his appreciation towards the organising committee, recognising the fast pace of growth of the recently established Centre for Research in Competition Laws under the guidance of Mr. Mahendra Soni. Sir also took the opportunity to reminisce his time as a professor at NLIU, expressing his delight to revisit as a part of such events now.
This was followed by the much awaited declaration of winners of the paper presentation competition.
The best student presenters award was won by Ms. Yaatri Shah and Ms. Ami Thakker from the Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad and the best presenter award was won by Ms. Garima Gupta, Doctoral fellow, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.
Finally, Mr. Devansh Malhotra, Student Convenor of the Centre on behalf of the Organising committee, expressed his gratitude towards the Competition Commission Of India for nominating Mr. SUKESH MISHRA to attend and grace the event with his august presence.He also thanked all the dignitaries and resource persons for blessing the hosts with their esteemed presence for such an event and the participants of the seminar, with the hope to host them again, on a much bigger scale and thanked the team at Centre for Research in Competition Law & Policy without whose efforts this could not have been a great success.
With this, the 1st NLIU CRCLP Seminar on Competition Laws came to an end on a fruitful note.
