R.s. Pathania FOR DRIVING OUT TERRORISM FROM J & K SOIL. VDCs SHALL PLAY A PIVOTAL ROLE.

Udhampur( Dudu):- A massive felicitation rally at a far flung pocket, Dudu, in Udhampur was organized by VDGs of district Udhampur. The rally was organized by VDG members in collaboration with the local unit of BJP. Addressing the massive rally Mr. Ranbir Singh Pathania, Spokesperson J&KBJP, reminded the VDGs of 'Doda bachao Andholan' launched by BJP and supreme sacrifices made by its cadres during peak of militancy. He lambasted the Congress, NC, PDP and other political parties who had been again and again raising the voice of disbanding of VDCs within as well as outside the Assembly. He was all praise for the landmark steps which have been taken by said VDCs in J&K for freeing it from the clutches of militancy. consistent financial support to Village Defense Committees (VDCs) in Jammu and Kashmir have significantly bolstered the security network. This initiative has not only fortified the existing security grid but has also provided a renewed sense of purpose to the entire security apparatus. Members of the VDCs have experienced tangible benefits, fostering a positive atmosphere and goodwill toward the Modi Sarkar in the region. Those demanding disbanding of VDCs have been doing it to please their masters across the border. He was also apprehensive of the conduct of some officers of the police who had tried to create a stalemate between the VDC SPOs and members in the last few years. Mr Basant Raj, Convenor of VDC Cell of BJP, lambasted JKNPP for shedding crocodile years on the issue time and again. While they remained in power, again and again, they were enjoying loaves and fishes of power. And once driven out, they are now singing sermons. He further informed that BJP led by Ravinder Raina J&KBJP President had made it a point that the VDCs organized and setup 27 years ago are given a new shape and colour in the regime led by PM Modi. He also recalled the Herculean endeavours made for strengthening the security situation in rural area.

VDCs members were all praise for the Samaritan effort of the Bharat Sarkar led by charismatic leadership of Narendra Modi ji. They vowed to stand by BJP in the times to come irrespective of caste, colour, creed or party considerations. The enthusiastic rally was further marked by jubilant dances, drum beatings and deafening sloganeering by the VDC members. On the occassion halwa and sweets were also distributed by the members amongst all the present people. Demands included giving remuneration to unpaid VDGs of Udhampur, constitution of more VDGs and giving weapons to family members of those VDG members who cross 60 years of age.

R.R Swain takes over as 17th DGP of Jammu and Kashmir

R.R Swain took over as 17th Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir at a function held at PHQ Srinagar, today afternoon
On his arrival, Swain was received by senior officers and was presented guard of honour in the PHQ lawns. He also inspected the guard of honour.
A 1991 batch IPS officer R.R Swain before taking over as DGP Jammu and Kashmir remained posted at various important and key positions of Jammu and Police which included SDPO Kothi Bagh, SP Ramban, SP Kargil, SP Poonch, SSP Kathua, SSP Jammu, SSP Srinagar, AIG (P/W) PHQ and DIG Vigilance.
In November 2006; Swain went on deputation to Govt of India where he held very prestigious posts. In June 2020, Shri Swain joined the J&K Police as head of the CID wing and today took over the charge of DGP J&K.
Immediately after taking over the DGP R.R. Swain chaired a meeting at PHQ which was attended by senior officers of the PHQ and other wings.
The HODs of different wings and senior officers of PHQ briefed the DGP about the working/functioning etc. of their wings and offices.
