Few days back I got some furniture delivered at home, which got really late cz of lockdown plus .india s bad customer support. Well this isn’t exactly about IKEA or products or TV, its about the delivery guys which were from team Mumbai, Prashant and Rakesh, one was a college student and other lost his job cz of current situation and they joined Team Delhivery at ₹10,000 monthly to support their respective families as they were asked to leave from their earlier jobs. Prashant told me that they hav to work for 14 straight hours in a day with Delhivery and aren’t allowed to go back home early or take a day off, otherwise get a heavy pay cut. I asked them to speak to their seniors about same, he replied they are being told either take it or leave it with no excuses at all.
I tried cheering them up by sharing that everywhere the condition is same, offered him some money which he refused and told him to be positive as things will be back to normal soon. Guess all he wanted was to talk!
After I escorted him back to my society gate and on my way to home, I was more empathetic for them & less excited for my delivered stuff for which I waited long.
Reality is there are lot of educated and respectable people like them who have lost their jobs and are struggling to meet their ends.
Though Everyday I am & , but incidents like these force you to contemplate, that if you are in a better life state, are able to meet your needs properly, must think twice before making small small complaints.
That guy could have been me or you, but if we are the better ones we must pull ourselves up, thank god & universe again everyday and at least try to
Talk, Listen, Share, Encourage and Help the needy anyway we can!!
