BE YOUR OWN HERO !

I am so happy to review and continue to read books from .wand because they help kids to move beyond textbooks !

As a Conscious and hands on Parent I love reading to my child but somehow found that the stories had heroes that inspire and motivate readers to work hard, have patience and persistence to conquer obstacles !

Now, imagine a 4 year old reading a story about someone else’s journey and not connecting to it for some reason or the other and disliking reading because it’s not very relatable.

Solution - .wand has the best option as it has several stories written by their brilliant team of authors and illustrated by amazing content creators and brought together a concept of story telling where the Child is the hero of his story !

The Story has a few character traits and also includes other aspects of child’s life such as if you have a pet or sibling for which you will be required to fill in essential details so as to make the story as relatable to your child’s life but in an over the moon imaginative manner so as to highlight the child’s motivation and happiness to read about himself as the ‘HERO’ .

My son was thrilled to see his name mentioned so many times in the story and also have my dog Zeus present in his voyage made his curious and engrossed in reading before bedtime .

As we all know that reading is the key to vocabulary, sp*ech, diction and imagination 💭 but with this book we were also able to enhance positive reinforcement and confidence boosting which is as essential for Conscious and Positive Parenting and bonding.

Onam is a big festival celebrated in the south Indian state of Kerala. Widespread celebrations go on throughout the months of August and September.

For 10 days within those months, a grand harvest festival is held in which more precise traditions are displayed. Whether you are in India or abroad, participating in Onam celebrations means enjoying time with your family. In particular,
sharing a Sadya feast and exchanging gifts with each other is a meaningful way to mark the occasion.

Wearing festive clothes and receiving goodies from family is my child's favourite thing amongst
others such as making go to pluck flowers for the Pookolam, a flower carpet made in a pot full of
water.

Water lilies and lotus the main flowers for this ritual. The ritual demands a small puja.

I am excited for this occasion as being an Indian we should be able to rejoice and celebrate all
festivals whether or not we belong to that particular religious community or regional society.

The significance of this celebration with my lil one is to teach him that India is a diverse land and
has numerous cultures, religions, communities, social groups and regional cultures but at the heart
of it all people come together to celebrate togetherness and love and that should be the main
objective of celebrating festivals and cultures.

Rakhi, is the Hindu festival that celebrates brotherhood and love. It is celebrated on the full moon in the month of Sravana in the lunar calendar. The word Raksha means protection, whilst Bandhan is the verb to tie. As my son is an only child and his only sibling is Zeus our German Shepherd!

I'm still processing him becoming so independent now. I want to hold on to these little hand and feet but I know it's important to allow him to learn important LIFE SKILLS, LIFE LESSONS AND KNOWLEDGE DAILY.

For now I feel so happy that no more diapers and nomore wet beds. We tried using a step ladder baby pot converter but he didn't like it. He uses the pot directly with the seat and doesn't use a baby seat.

POTTY TRAINING IS HARD BUT ALL WORTH IT. IF YOU ARE STILL STRUGGLING OR STARTING
REMEMBER TO HAVE PATIENCE . TRY DIFFERENT POTTY CONVERTER SEATS AND TIMINGS . EVENTUALLY IT WILL HAPPEN. DON'T RUSH IT.

BOYS USUALLY TAKE LONGER THAN GIRLS TO GET POTTY TRAINED.

SO HAVE PATIENCE . PLENTY OF IT.

Posted • Epidemic, I tell ya! If I had a dollar for every time I heard a parent say I can’t get my kid to do this or do that, let’s put them in counseling or therapy. What?!?!

Let’s apply that logic to you. I can’t get you to have self discipline over your diet, let’s put you in counseling.

Oh, you made another mistake at work, let’s get you to therapy.

You can’t seem to get your relationships right, let’s refer you to a psychologist and see if they can put you on medication. Too far??

Well put yourself in your kid’s shoes. I get so frustrated with parents who think their kid needs to be fixed. I can’t tell you how toxic that can be. Please be more intentional about your thoughts and what you say to your kids. Please!

You wouldn’t believe some of the things these kids go through if I told you. Have some care, work on your empathy for your student growing and trying to understand the world. This generation of kids deserves that from you!

Remember a child needs a well structured routine. Though Festivities are fun but fun is always enjoyed in good balance. So it is important to create some boundaries for children so that they know they normal routine is vital for their learning and development.

Each child may have a different routine depending on the home setup and support however, Parents must remember to ensure that Festivities once over should be quickly followed by normal everyday routine.

This helps children to be busy, engaged, active, learning and doing things in a structured manner.
