How the hell could a person enjoy being awakened at 6:30 AM, by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, s**t, p**s, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?

I am turning 30 in a couple of days and here are some lessons Ive learnt which are useful for both work and life.
1. Be honest w yourself about what you really want in life, dont reject certain needs or wants because you associate it with weakness. Only when you truly accept yourself then you can find peace and confidence.
2. Every decision in life has trade offs. When deciding or not to do something, ask yourself what is the worst outcome that could happen and decide if you can take this risk.
3. Good relationships are the best safety nets and support systems. Your problems are halved and your happiness is doubled when you have close bonds with others. Keep these people close and invest continually.
4. Gratitude increases resilience, quality of life and creates better relationships. I count my blessings every night before i sleep and make it a point to express compliments and appreciation regularly to others.
5. Dont speak when you are angry. Dont make promises when you are happy.

“MY DAUGHTER WON’T MARRY A POOR MAN”

Bill Gates explains why his daughter cannot marry a poor man.

As a big fan of Bill gates, I constantly look for his wisdom through all of the resources I have. Recently watched a video of him where his response to a question was just thought provoking. Its quite a long video of a conference on investment and finance where Bill was one of the speakers. At the Q & A stage, one of the attendee asked a question that made everyone laugh.

The question read If He, the richest man in the world could accept his daughter to marry a poor or modest man.

Here is how Bill responded :
“First, understand that wealth does not mean having a well filled bank account.

Wealth is primarily the ability to create wealth.

Example: Someone who wins the lottery or gambling. Even winning 100 million is not a rich man: he's a poor man with a lot of money, that's why 90% of lottery millionaires go back to being poor after 5 years.

You also have rich people who can't afford it. Example Most Entrepreneurs, They are already in the way of wealth, even if they don't have money, because they are developing their financial intelligence and that's wealth.

How are the rich and the poor different?

To be simple: The rich can die to become rich, while the poor can kill to stay.

If you see a young man who decides to graduate, learn new things, trying to improve continually, know that he is a rich man.

If you see a young man who thinks the problem is the state, and thinks the rich are all thieves and constantly criticize, know that he is a poor man.

The rich are convinced that they only need information and training to take off, the poor think others should give money for them to take off.

In conclusion, when I say my daughter is not going to marry a poor man, I'm not talking about money. I'm talking about this man's ability to create wealth.

Sorry for what I'm going to say, but most criminals are poor people.
When they are in front of money they lose their minds that's why they steal, rob etc...

To them, that's grace, because they don't know how they themselves could make money.

One day, a bank vigilante found a bag full of money, took the bag and went to deliver it to the bank manager.
People called this gentleman an idiot, but actually this gentleman was just a rich man who had no money.
1 year later, the bank offered him a receptionist position, 3 years later he was in charge of clients and 10 years later, he manages the regional direction of that bank, he manages hundreds of employees and their annual bonuses are beyond the value he could have stolen.

"Wealth is first a state of mind my friend."

Happy Thanksgiving my friends!

Please consider this today and everyday — not just on Thanksgiving.

Our elderly are being ignored, thrown away discarded — as if they no longer matter. They don’t feel needed or wanted any more. They’re sad and alone.

They are not dead yet — they still have valid thoughts, feelings and emotions and long for our love, compassion and attention.

Show an elderly person you know — or may not know — some love and gratitude. Give them your kind words, your smile, a gentle hug, a few minutes of your time.

They will be grateful for your kindness.

Thank you and know, I am thankful for each and every one of you. 🙏❤️

Pursuing a dream is like sailing alone in the dark of night.⠀

Although you know where you want to go, you can’t control the winds or the storms.

So you hold on tight and do the best you can; you get knocked around, nearly capsize, and yet still, you grip your ropes and keep going, unable to see what lies ahead. ⠀

And at some point, many times to your surprise, you finally hit shore, and you can’t help but fall to your knees.

I am very much a morning person…

I love to get up at the crack of dawn, do my dhyana practice. I find my productivity levels are at their highest in the early hours of the day and I like to make the most of it.

My wife on the other hand is the opposite. As much as she feels good when she gets up early it’s always tough for her and I notice when she comes back after 8-9 hours of work, she is still super productive in the afternoon and even in the evening.

It may be the habits we create or just how our bodies are built??

Either way, I like to believe that it is more about the habit we create than the way our bodies are built.

Raising money *adds* risk. It narrows the definition of success, reduces the range of positive outcomes, heightens expectations, creates artificial pressures, balloons costs, and starts the countdown timer. It may be worth it, but it doesn’t make things easier.

Rigidity in the face of complexity is toxic.

When we're emotionally rigid, we get hooked by feelings and behaviors that don't serve us.

When we're emotionally agile, we're flexible with our emotions in order to respond optimally to everyday situations.

We need greater levels of emotional agility for true resilience and thriving.

Some of the best career advice I’ve received so far is, “Control your own [career] destiny, or someone else will.”

Think of it another way. Your career is the vehicle. To get to where you are trying to go, you must:

(1) SIT IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT. If your career is feeling stagnant, it is because we are sitting in our own PASSENGER seat, the BACK seat, or we are stuck on the side of the road while someone ELSE has borrowed (or highjacked) our car!

(2) TURN ON YOUR GPS. Know where you want to go, plug in a destination, and follow the directions!

(3) PUT THE PEDAL TO THE METAL. Don’t be afraid to put the car in DRIVE. Some of us are sitting in reverse—too nostalgic about what used to be, rather than focused on what could be.

(4) FOLLOW THE ROUTE. When a door closes, be THANKFUL. That route wasn’t meant for you. May have been detrimental for you. Don’t get stuck trying to make a path at what should be a route!

Accepting the reality of our life sounds like it should be easy enough.

But many people hold to their own version of reality.

It may be based in regret, disappointment, denial, or just waiting for something better.

Failing to connect with reality is why some of us have clothes in the closet that haven't fit in years. I have been there too 😀.

More significantly, it keeps people in unfulfilling jobs or even in the wrong profession entirely.

There are few better things we can do for ourselves than giving up the fictional version of our life and learning to accept ourselves and our reality.

Even if our situation is terrible, the first step in improving it is acknowledging it for what it is.

Where are you currently imagination or reality ?

Kamala Harris made history when she became America's first female, first Black and first South Asian vice president-elect, representing a new face of political power. But one of the key assumptions people make about women leaders is that once they have managed to break through the glass ceiling, they are free to lead. The barriers women experience do not disappear once they become leaders.

In fact, women are more likely to be confronted with gender inequality when they lead because they are exposed to discrimination and marginalization at every level of the organization, as women leaders work in leadership teams and manage departments that are likely to be dominated by men. Getting women into leadership positions does not guarantee we will value them when they are there.

So what can you do? Get to know the barriers all women face so you can call these out when they happen. Make it your mission to amplify, advance and value women leaders. This is how we begin to value all our individual differences and make workplaces work for everyone.

One thing I’ve learned in my short time being married, is to continue to date and continue to treat her like your girlfriend.

Don’t stop doing the things you did in the beginning. Guys, continue to date her and treat her like you GF!

A "key" sign of a growth company that is consumer obsessed is how they make decisions - always based on the "insight" more than "job titles"!!!

When you are data inspired and informed, you let the insight become the decision-maker

Data without insight and insight without the ability to drive decision is like unshared knowledge - just not good enough

Don't just build data, build the "supply chain of data"

Automation should be at the forefront of implementing a digitaltransformation strategy, enabling your business to drive value to the customer, empower your best employees and bolster your bottom line. Experience shows that automating high-volume, repetitive manual tasks is a win-win-win: It drives value for customers, empowers employees to take on more challenging work and bolsters the bottom line. It shouldn’t just be a consideration for your ongoing digital transformation plans. It will be central to crisis-proofing your business for the future.

Beneath the behavior,
There is a feeling.

Beneath each feeling
There is a need.

When we meet that need,
Rather than focus on the behavior,

We begin to deal with the real cause.

EGO!!

Knowing that your ego is speaking instead of your well-trained brain is a challenging task at times.
Ironically not accepting even after knowing the same is also an ego problem in itself.
Also knowingly or unknowingly this one element is the result of many fights or arguments which one has throughout his/her life.

"Knowing which fight is worth fighting for is very important"

I believe this not only on the personal front but also on a professional level being in control of one's ego is most important for someone whose decisions directly impact their surroundings. Be it a team, workplace, community or a startup.

Excellence is a discipline, not a performance.

Listening skills is one area which I constantly try to improve on (and trust me there is enough room for improvement for me) but, there are several misconceptions on what makes someone a good listener or not. Most people, (and I can confirm from personal experiences) think good listening comes down to doing three things:

1. Not talking when others are speaking (how dare you interrupt someone, it’s rude, etc)
2. Letting others know you’re listening through facial expressions and verbal sounds (“Mmm-hmm”)
3. Being able to repeat what others have said, practically word-for-word

I am fatal to many things. I am fully clumsy and bad at tasks that I consider important. Does it happen to you? We strive so hard to seem perfect, we strive so hard to make only our virtues look, that we are often forgotten that it is impossible to be good at all and that nothing happens if we do things wrong.
What pressure!
I prefer to admit that I am denied in many tasks, but I still try with joy and sometimes little sense of ridicule. Like children!
Here's my list, but I'd love to, let's all get rid of the weight of perfection today.

Are you encouraged? I read you :)

"In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity"- Albert Einstein

2020 did pose a challenge to all of us. Businesses learnt how to function in a remote setup and transformation to a 100% digital model.

I have always been persistent to implement "Work from anywhere" model from last 4 years.
Since March 2020, when the quarantine began, most of the people and organizations realized that working from home gives much more time to focus on building your persona while maintaining the work life balance at the same time.

Bentley just announced they will go 100% electric by 2030.

The photos below are of their EXP 100 GT concept car, an autonomous and all-electric car for what “truly sustainable luxury” might look like in a decade!

Simply gorgeous!

The Amazon Digital Ecosystem (let’s just call it a Galaxy) becomes wider and deeper.

Two years after its $753 million acquisition of the prescription medicine delivery service PillPack, Amazon has launched Amazon Pharmacy, its online and mobile prescription medication ordering and fulfillment service.

Using a secure pharmacy profile, customers can add their insurance information, manage prescriptions and choose payment options all through Amazon’s service. And in another small push toward wider healthcare services, and not just selling items, users are provided with “self-service help” tools on Amazon’s portal, and they also have the option to speak to pharmacists over the phone for advice.

Most of today’s business ecosystems are built around digital platforms. It’s still relatively early days but increasingly we can see what required to build a successful digital ecosystems. However, according to research from BCG Henderson Institute, fewer than 15% of the ecosystems (that they analyzed) had sustainable successful in the long run..... bottom line is that, there is a lot which an orchestrator or builder of an ecosystem needs to get right to succeed.

The more I learn about digital-ecosystems, platforms and SuperApps, it’s becoming clearer, that getting the ‘design’ stage right is paramount for delivering sustainable success. You can’t just launch an ‘ecosystem’ and hope for the best.

Bouncing like a Yo-Yo!

Bitcoin prices skyrocket to a 3 year high. The total value of all the bitcoins in circulation is now more than $300 billion -- also near an all-time high.

The doubling in value in being driven by a number of factors:
- Weakness in the $ and some of the other global currencies
- Some of the big investors showing appetite to invest in the cryptocurrency
- Fintechs like PayPal and Square further legitimizing the form factor as a viable alternative currency
- Finally, there is all sort of talks about how Bitcoin could achieve $60k next year (some at Citi even suggesting that it could soar part $300k) as large investors bet big on bitcoin as a safeguard against inflation, uncertainty, and the turmoils of 2020.

I for one can’t make any sense of where the price will head but one thing is for sure, investing in Bitcoins (at these prices) might not be for the faint hearted.

Obesity is difficult. Being fit is hard.
Choose your hard one.
Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is difficult.
Choose your hard one.
Communication is difficult. Not communicating is difficult.
Choose your hard one.

Life will never be easy. It's always going to be hard.

But we can choose our hard one.

Everyone is fighting and we make difficult decisions, where you can differentiate is in perspective from how you see it.

And sometimes even if you think someone else's path is easier, you don't know the whole story.

05/12/2020

If it were easy…
Then everyone else would find it easy as well. Which would make it awfully difficult to do important work, work that stands out, work that people would go out of their way to find.

When difficulties arise, it might very well be good news. Because those difficulties may dissuade all the people who aren’t as dedicated as you are.

It pays to seek out the hard parts.
