The first time I heard about mead was in the series Ragnarok, where it was highlighted as “drink of the gods.” And since then, I was quite curious to learn more about this beverage. (Of course I read Canterbury Tales but I was too naive then to even care to read about any alcoholic beverages 😂)

Nonetheless, mead or honey wine is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages prepared by the fermentation process.

Inspired by the taste of rum, this fizzy mead is a treasure from Indian Ocean held captive by its inhabitants for years. It comes in a pretty pint bottle and contains about 10% ABV.

If you want to try something different out of your regular wine or beer weekend, try this golden elixir. I bet you are gonna love it. 😍

It’s been quite long I had tickled my inner chef or posted a recipe. 🙈🙊
I am, atleast in mood today to prepare some besan laddoos (for it is Janmasthami) and eat it all. Shhhh…. I kept 2-3 for my other sweet tooth half though. 😬

Here’s a quick recipe:
- Pour required amount of ghee in a pan.
- Put the besan and stir on regular intervals.
- On low heat, cook for about 15-20 minutes or until it releases the ghee.
- Add the roasted nuts and powdered sugar.
- Mix well and roll into laddoos.
- Your besan laddoos are ready to devour.

With the advent of winter, comes all the skin problems. From dry and dull skin to chapped lips, everyone stumbles upon skin issues that more or less affects them.

For someone like me who has a sensitive skin and is prone to dust allergies and periodic acne break outs, it is difficult to trust brands and shift to a new product, likely for fear of skin damage (it happened with me once😭)

Shakshouka is an Arabian cuisine that consists of poached eggs gracing the dish of tomato along with pepper, onion, cumin, and garlic (can also add ginger and green chillies).

Now that I have a cheesy tooth 😬, I prefer making my version of the cuisine by incorporating a slice of cheese to the blend and sprinkle with herbs of my favorite.

P.S.
Was too lethargic to make pita bread, hence a normal slice of bread filled the void.

I was starving by evening when I decided to go for these savoury bread cheese balls, instead eating my regular egg toast. While these cheese balls goes great with chutney or sauce, I prefer making my own dips. A bliss with evening tea or coffee.

Recipe:

- Mix boiled potatoes, slices of bread, coriander leaves, chives, rosemary, thyme, grated ginger, chilli flakes, pepper, and salt in a large bowl.

-Knead it to a dough.

-Cut the cheese to small pieces of cubes so that it fits well inside the bread-potato balls.

-In another bowl, mix cornflour and salt. Add little water to make it slurry.

-Now divide the dough to small portions, one that fits in your hand well.

-Place the cheese cubes inside the portions and roll it to make round shapes.

-Put the balls in the cornflour liquid. Remove and roll once again in the breadcrumbs.

-Place the balls in a pre-heated oven and bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes (or until they turn golden).

-Serve with chutney or sauce of your favorite.
