This is so interesting.

Film, Technology and Dreams: 5 frames from

One day Ill tell you how much Silva has inspired me in my journey. From readin his story in ‘Stealing Fire’ to watching him spill poetry as philosophy on his content channels to shots of awe, Ive always felt like his story is so much like mine, except with a 15 year lag haha. Anyhoo, read this and let your mind wander.

A story in 4 frames by Friedrich Nietzsche.

This is why I dont listen to thinkers that are not thorough in their inquiry of life. There is no heaven without hell. There is no searching for good without recognising its evil. Life exists in the synthesis of paradoxes.

Been writing a set of themes to explore with Acharya Prashant (wink). Maybe ill ask him about this. Hmm

Here are 2 pictures from the same place. One of ‘s oldest buildings, Hamilton. First picture is between a Stoa- big biceps visible. Second picture is from my private live stream yesterday in BANGALORE. Yep, NO JOKE. Big Biceps still visible, but the background is pure makhhan. I cannot wait to stream crazy stuff from crazy places @ you all. We are back super soon. Most likely this week itself. Lets do a stream and chill. Answer questions, raise the bar on thinking and move forward together. In a weird way, I feel much at home. Are you ready?

Weirdly enough, I love to read Zizek talk and write about love. Its as if he articulates a part of me I struggle to even grasp. Thats what you get when you give a twisted thinker the freedom to talk about other people’s fe**sh- truth. Not the whole truth, but the most discreet truth. And i love it. I love stripping love of its puritan fe**shisation and seeing it for what it is. And i love zizek, no two ways about it.

What a fantastic find. About 50% of the swipes men make, women reject. And even though women make more selective swipes, they get way more matches. Are all men desperate (?) or is the selective criteria for men way broader than women. WAY broader. Cuz women get rejected only on 3% of their swipes. Thats insane.

PS- .ian.reed was evolutionary psychology professor. Taking his class in the Summer of 2018 got me into psychology and evolutionary thinking. I remember him lecturing us about tinder profiles and the closing time phenomenon. Ian, I dont know if you know but the way you teach that class would captivate any modern person willing to think 3 degrees deep. Its my honest pleasure, as Ive said many times, to glean from you the way you think. See you very soon.

I dont know...maybe. Maybe its true. Maybe poets have smaller, constant variation in madness as opposed to a one time high variance of chess players and mathematicians. But its true. The tryst of discovering the world in your head is rough, tough and has only fallen angels in its path. Its not impossible, as David Deutsch is making me slowly realise. But you should check out Chesterton. Hes original in his thought and word. Very few are that good. Also check out Deutsch. Nullius in Verba.

Did you know .live , my OG content IP, was originally called ‘Columbia Broken Couches’. Back then id literally sit on broken couches at and do my podcast. This is a picture from the early months of the podcast in 2019. I dressed up to impress Ram Madhav. Long story. But here relish pictures of me looking expensive. I rarely put the effort.

A great example of how humans consolidate the grand complexity and randomness of the universe against their own helplessness to forge meaning. A great lesson in meaning building is learnt from men who were DEVOID of the existence of a full life. Prisoners, warriors, the oppressed and the unfateful all have to fight against their own lives to CREATE an answer to the question ‘why must I continue to live? And for what? AND HOW?’ That is your job, above all else. Before you surrender to the pleasures and responsibilities of your life and before you surrender to the many notions of popular alchemists and gurus, and before you settle on the capitalistic dream of endlessly running behind an eventuality, ASK YOURSELF- why must I live? And what for? And HOW? These questions will give you the map of your meaning, so you can find your way through all else.

We see ourselves different from others. And this ‘different’ is neither visible, obvious nor linear. One of the distorting factors is the amount of data i have for me over everyone else. I know way more about me than any one else. This causes a natural skew in my opinion of me. In truth, I may feel like I am special, but Im more like everyone else than I think. Fallible, vulnerable, programmed for deceit and competition. Knowing thyself involves knowing the possibility of your weakest, evilest, unhappiest self. Its only once you’re acquainted with that that you have met yourself. The road to self awareness goes through the dark pits of chaotic possibilities. You need to know whats at the bottom of your worst to UNDERSTAND that you have to fight to be your best EVERY SINGLE DAY. To be fair, just, graceful, truthful, fit and contributive to this endless and purposeless machinery of life.

The perfect recipe to think well-

-1 idea you find interesting
- 2-7 days of marinating that idea in your head

-Take the marination and write it down on paper. Make your argument air tight. Think about what others might say and write all defence. All good ideas deserve air tight articulation.
-Now take a walk. Maybe 5 days long.
-Come back to the write up and read it again.
- as you read it again, write out the best possible argument against your original position.
- Repeat process of airtight articulation.

- Let it marinate for 1 month.

Voila- you have arrived at a new depth of thinking.

I once drove 13 hours straight// A sailor, a film maker and a loud mouth drove all the way from San Francisco to Joshua Tree. The trip was very sudden and long. We bought all our camping gear at a walmart on our way. Three guys searching for their voice camped in the middle of a nowhere desert at 2 AM under the headlights of our rented car. The winds were so powerful we couldnt even hear our own thoughts. We woke up searched for water and food and walked in the heat and the wind. We walked near lizards and cacti. We saw huge boulders and unbelievable history that no one has cared to explore. But most importantly, we met the spirit of exploration because we found caps and stems in Dolores Park.

Let me introduce you to one of my fav thinkers- RD LAING. I gave a brief about him on last night’s stream. He wrote very interesting (but dense) stuff around psychiatry and schizophrenia. Not simple, but i think he went deeper than most people in trying to uncover the psychological roots of psychiatric disorders.

This is a poem from his collection ‘knots’. Brain freeze maximus.
