Visit of 5T Chairman to Sapigen Biologix, Odisha Biotech Park, Andharua

*Vaccine manufacturing plant to start commercial production by May 2024.

*Odisha will produce vaccines in a scale of 10 times world’s population. *

Today, Chairman 5T and Nabin Odisha visited the Sapigen Biologix Vaccine plant at Odisha Biotech Park, Andharua, Bhubaneswar

The plant, which is in its final phase of commissioning, will have a capacity to produce 2.4 cr doses of different vaccines per day. With its full capacity, this facility in Odisha will be the biggest vaccine producing plant in the country.

Sri Pandian visited all the sub units and interacted with the management and employees and instructed all Govt agencies to assist in the commissioning of the plant within the next 3 months.

This plant is coming up with an investment of Rs 1500 crores, led by Dr Krishna Ella of Bharat Biotech park fame.

This state of the art plant is creating 1500 direct employment, and most of them are being hired locally from Odisha. The plant plans to produce 15 plus different vaccines for diseases like cholera, malaria, etc.

The variety of vaccines produced in Bhubaneswar will be supplied to many parts of the world and will strengthen the name for Odisha in the field of biotechnology. This project is in complete sync with the motto of HCM and Odisha that Every Life is Precious. With vaccines from here, millions of lives will be safeguarded around the world.

Mr Pandian has assured all help from the government and also informed of the recently approved biotechnology policy, which has been approved by HCM Sri Naveen Patnaik’s cabinet. He expressed confidence that with this large anchor manufacturing plant, many other complementary biotechnology related product companies will get attracted to the Odisha Biotech Park, bringing major investments and creating jobs in this speciality field.

*Ratha saptami, Magha Saptami or Surya Jayanti,the birth anniversary of Surya Dev falls on the 7th day of the brighter half of the month of Magha, symbolically represented in the form of Sun God turning his Rath or chariot drawn by seven horses (representative of seven colours of rainbow) towards the northern hemisphere (Uttarayana) in a north-easterly direction,marking the transition of winter into spring.This day has religious & social significance since the Vedic age.The grand old man of the Mahabharata,Bhishma, is believed to have breathed his last,as per his wish,on the day after Magha Saptami,as the Sun entered into Uttarayana.The antiquity of Sun worship can be traced back to ancient civilizations of China,Egypt & Mesopotamia too.The mention of 'Savitre' in the Gayatri Mantra is an age old practice in Hindu households from time immemorial!Besides the Gayatri Mantra, recitations of Adityahridayam,Suryashtakam,Surya Sahasranamam are also done in praise of the Sun God on Magha Saptami.The Rath of Surya Dev is drawn by seven horses also representative of seven days of the week,starting from the Ravibar i.e. the day of Sun.The twelve weeks of the chariot stand for the twelve signs(each 30 degrees) of the Zodiac(360 degrees) constituting a full year,called Sambastara.Sun's own house 'Leo' moves from one sign to another completing a full year.Propitiation of the Surya Dev on Magha Saptami is associated with legends such as the ridding of sins of Yasoverma,the King of Kamboja thus giving a new lease of life to his only son,who was destined to suffer from an incurable disease & the ridding of Krishna's son Shamba from an incurable skin disease etc.The three famous sun temples situated at Konark,Modhera(Gujarat) & Martand(Kashmir) are said to be built as the monuments of gratitude by Shamba after his got cured.Odisha has got sun temples known as Biranchi Narayana Temples at Buguda(Ganjam) & Palia(Bhadrak) also,which are functional even today.The ancient sun temple at Multan,POK has been vandalised because of blasphemy while the Konark temple has been ravaged by elements.On this special day the age-old deities of Konark namely Triveniswar,Ishaneswar,& Dakshineswar are carried in a procession to the Chandrabhaga beach for customised rituals.The devotees thronging the beach for a pre-dawn holy dip,usually pay obeisance to the Navagraha deities (originally built atop the main entrance of the Mukhshala of Konark temple) after the bath.Their next stop customarily is Jagannath Dham,Puri.Arka leaves (Calotropis gigantea) are equated with the Sun as Tulashi(Ocimum tenuiflorum),to Vishnu,because of their medicinal & healing properties.The seven leaves of Arka are placed on seven vital limbs during Puja to inculcate its goodness.Even woods of Arka plant,called 'Samidha' are offered in Yagnas to extract their wellness.Surya is otherwise called Arka & the Konark is often referred to as 'Arka Kshetra'!The Vaishnavite temples of the South India celebrate Ratha Saptami in their unique ways.The Brahmostavam of the Tirumala temple & the Mangaluru Rathostavam are worth-mentioning in this context.'Kolam' using coloured rice powder depicting the Sun God with his chariot are drawn in Rath Saptami in praise of the absolute source of energy!!*

Most of the cities in India is shrouded with thik cloak of smog.The Air Quality Index of Delhi has crossed the limit of livability.It has crossed 450 the the threshold level of being hazardous is 300 and is feared that it may cross 500 making it infernal.
*One can live without water and food for several days but can live beyond a minute without air.*
Most unfortunately we have with our hedonistic lifestyle polluted air beyond livable condition.In the name of religion,to celebrate a victory in some thing,in processions and riding vehicles even for a few hundred meters ,and of course the billowing smoke the industries.
After Deepavali the AQI of Indian cities,even villages reaches to unlivable levels.The celebration can be done without bursting crackers.Even the fount of the culture and traditions of Indian subcontinent the Vedas and other scriptures have eloquently been advocating to keep the air free from pollution.

What is of Paramount importance? Country or religion? It is really shocking to see that somebody for HIJAB, some others are for dhotis inside temples ( Educational Institutions) Is this one country or divides by by religion lines?

*The power of United effort*
Today is the first Convocation of IISER BRAHMAPUR, the fruit of United effort by the people of Ganjam, irrespective of party affiliations and ideological differences.It began with a small meeting at Utkal Ashram in the banner of *Intellectual Forum For IIM at Brahmapur* after Govt of India declared an IIM for Odisha. Later it was named as *Forum For IIM at Brahmapur*

After a few rounds of meetings and demonstrations like Candle Rally, Human chain, Signature campaign,
Meeting with the Hon'ble CM of Odisha, once with the members of the Forum and again with all the MLAs of Ganjam. All the political parties, NGOs, Volunteer Organisations and with active participation of Mahan Sangh in the movement.

The chorus of the IISER at Brahmapur rose louder may be in the history of Ganjam all the political parties joined together for a great cause.
The *Forum called for a peaceful Brahmapur bandh to which almost all political parties lent their active support*. With no road block, no coercion Brahmapur witnessed an un unprecedented spontaneous Bandh. In some other places in Ganjam also people volunteered to observe bandh.

To force unrelenting Govt an indefinite relay hunger strike was conducted at Komapally square.On 5th day the Government sent feelers to convey that let the movement be discontinued assuring next National level institution for Ganjam and accept Govt decision of IIM at Sambalpur. The Forum relented and discontinued after 5days.

The *Forum For IIM at Brahmapur* started its work under *Forum For Ganjam*.
Soon after the Government of India declared an IISER for Odisha. Forum For Ganjam started its demand for IISER at Brahmapur which was accepted by the Government.
After this *Forum For Ganjam* kept working for land selection, appointment of Director and faculty members, Transit campus by writing letters to PM of India and meeting with the HRD minister. Now we are able to witness the 1st convocation of IISER today.

The Forum for Ganjam continued it's efforts for other development activities. The series of meetings with the then Chief Secretary Mr Aditya Padhi, the Ramlingeswar Park got sanctioned. Members met the Health Secretary at his office for posting of Doctors, Nurses, technicians and 4th grade employees.
Forum For Ganjam actively participated in providing food and water for 25 days to the people on NH during first phase of Covid.

Once again thanks to all political parties, NGOs and others joined hands in our mission.

From 8th to 10 th century under the Bhaumakara dynasty Buddhism was considered the state religion of odisha.Two of Lord Buddha 's first disciples Tapasu and Balika hailed from jaipur in odisha.Moreover,emperor Ashoka had Patronised the spread of Buddhism both in the state and beyond."The influence of Buddhism can be found in the socio- cultural life of the People of odisha and the rich depository of history is reflected in the Budhist monuments of the state," Buddhist sites and shrines like Dhaulagiri,Lalitgiri,Udaygiri,Ratnagiri, and Jiang continue to attract a huge number of International tourists from east and south-east Asia. "The tourist facilities at these Buddhist holy Places leave much to be desired. In order to achieve large scale adoption of electric vehicles in odisha and maximize reduction of vehicular Pollution, the state Govt will provide 15 Percent subsidies on each Purchase of electric vehicles. The odisha state Govt is aiming to have about 20% electric vehicles on road by 2025 with the implementation of the electric vehicle policy,2021. On the occasion of 75th Independence day, Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik today announced to provide Smart Health Cards to 3.5 Crore people in the state under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana.

Announcing this at the state level celebration of Independence day, the Chief Minister said the initiative will transform health service delivery system and create history in the health sector of the Country.

He said the move will usher in a new era in state's health sector.

Speaking on an emotional note, the CM said that all the people of entire Odisha are my family. The news of people selling land, jewellery or stop sending children to school to manage their treatment costs pains me. Therefore I decided that this type of distress must go. People should get hassle free quality treatment at best available health care facilities. So Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana was redesigned to provide Smart Health Cards to people that will work as debit cards for a certain amount.

The main features of this new provision are

✓ 3.5 crore people of 96 lakh families will get this Smart Health Card.
✓ Odisha is the first state in the country to provide such Smart Health Cards.
✓ This card will be given to all the beneficiaries phase wise.
✓ Beneficiaries of National and State Food Security Schemes, Annapurna and Antodaya beneficiaries will get this card.
✓ Each family can avail treatment cost up to Rs 5 lakh per annum. Women members can avail this benefit up to Rs 10 lakh.every year .

✓ The beneficiaries can avail health services in more than 200 hospital chains of the country including Odisha.
It will go a long way in strengthening health security of people of odisha .
