100 Glorious Years of Education: PM Shree Government Senior Secondary School, Dentam, Celebrates Its Centenary with Pride and Promise

Gyalshing, September 18: In a historic and momentous celebration, PM Shree Government Senior Secondary School, Dentam marked the completion of its 100 Years of Glorious Service in Education, bringing together generations of students, educators, alumni, dignitaries, and community members to honour a century-long legacy of academic excellence.

The grand occasion was graced by the Hon’ble Area MLA, Mr Sudesh S***a, who inaugurated the newly renovated Heritage Block through a ceremonial ribbon-cutting. The upgradation was undertaken under the HRDP – HDFC Parivartan CSR Initiative, implemented by People to People Health Foundation (PPHF), in a commendable effort to strengthen educational infrastructure in the region.

The centenary celebrations also paid rich tribute to the visionary founders, dedicated teachers, and accomplished alumni who have shaped the school’s illustrious journey over the past hundred years. The day was marked by cultural presentations, student performances, and expressions of gratitude that showcased the institution’s spirit of learning, growth, and resilience.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Mr Surat Gurung (ADC Development, Gyalshing), Mr Dinesh Gurung (Zilla Member), Mr Mahendra Gurung (Panchayat President, Mangmoo Dentam GPU), Mr Bhim Kumar Limboo (Maneybong GPU), Dr. Ashim Basnet (MOIC, Dentam CHC), Mr Protit Bhattacharjee (Branch Manager, HDFC Bank, Gyalshing), along with Mr Ankit Kumar, Mr Samar Das, and Ms Sharmila Sharma (Assistant Program Managers, PPHF), Mr Tsheten Tashi Bhutia (RRC Incharge, Yuksom), and representatives from Dentam PHC. Their presence reflected the strong community support and collective pride in this milestone.

As the school embarks on its next century, the message was one of renewed commitment and aspiration. PM Shree Government Senior Secondary School, Dentam, continues to stand as a beacon of knowledge and community development, inspiring generations to dream bigger and achieve greater heights.

स्थानीय बासिन्दाहरूको विरोधपछि कुन्दन कम्पनीले पश्चिम सिक्किमको नाकु गाउँमा रहेको पखोला पुललाई मजबुती बनाउने कार्य युद्धस्तरमा॥

।रेल छु जलविद्युत् परियोजनाको लागि यो पुल महत्त्वपूर्ण छ र कम्पनीका ट्रकहरूद्वारा भारी सामग्री ओसारपोसारले गाउँलेहरूमा सुरक्षा चिन्ता बढाएको थियो।

तसर्थ स्थानीयहरूले भारी ट्रक गुडाएको विषयमा विरोध गरेका थिए। पुलको समर्थनको लागि जडान गरिएका अस्थायी फलामका भर्‍याङहरू हटाइदिए। कंक्रीट संरचनाहरूसहित पुललाई बलियो बनाउन कुन्दन कम्पनीसँग लिखित सम्झौता भएको थियो।
कम्पनीले स्थिरता बढाउन पुल मुनि कंक्रीट स्तम्भहरू निर्माण गरिरहेको छ। जानकारी पाए आधारित बलियो बनाउने काम पूरा नभएसम्म पुलबाट भारी सामग्री ओसारपोसार गरिने छैन।

युद्धस्तरमा चलिरहेको पुल मजबुती कार्यको आज SDM Yuksom ले निरक्षण गरे।

॥ कुन्दन कम्पनीले स्थानीय र कम्पनीका प्रतिनिधिहरूसँग हिजो, सेप्टेम्बर 14 मा भएको बैठकपछि आज, याङ्तामदेखि धुप्पीसम्मको सडक मर्मत कार्य सुरु गरेको छ।

कम्पनीका भारी लरी / ट्रकहरूले उक्त भेगका (PWD) सडक उबडखाबड पारिदिएको कारण स्थानीयहरूले विरोध गरेपछि कम्पनीले मर्मत कार्य सुरु गर्ने निर्णय गरेका हुन्।

लिखित सम्झौताको एक भागमा, स्थानीयहरूले कम्पनीका सवारी साधनहरू दुई दिनका लागि रोक्ने निर्णय गरेका थिए, जसले गर्दा कुन्दन कम्पनीलाई यो समयसीमा भित्र सडक मर्मत गर्न समय दिइएको थियो।

र आज कर्जी मगनामकी जिल्ला पञ्चायत सदस्य बिना मगरले अन्य पञ्चायत सदस्यहरूसँग मिलेर आज मध्यान्हमा मर्मत कार्यको निरीक्षण गरिन्॥

॥कुन्दन कम्पनीद्वारा निर्माणधीन रेलीछु हाइड्रो परियोजनाको मालगाडी लरी / ट्रकबाट भएको सडक क्षतिको विरुद्ध धुप्पी कर्जीका गाउँलेहरूले कडा अडान लिएका छन्। उनीहरूले तत्काल सडक मर्मतको माग गर्दै कम्पनीका सवारी साधनहरू दुई दिनसम्म गुड्न नदिने निर्णय लिएको हो॥

|| नाकु गाउँको पा-खोला पुल कर्जी याङ्ताममा कुन्दन कम्पनीद्वारा निर्माणधीन रेल छु हाइड्रो परियोजनाको लागि महत्त्वपूर्ण छ, जुन लरी/ट्रकहरू मार्फत भारी सामग्री ओसारपोसार गर्ने प्रमुख मार्गको रूपमा काम गर्दछ।

स्थानीयहरूले पुल यति भारी भार धान्न पर्याप्त बलियो नभएको दाबी गर्छन्। परियोजनाको सुरुवातदेखि नै उनीहरूले पुलमाथि भारी सामग्री ओसारपोसारको विरोध गर्दै आएका छन्।

रिपोर्ट अनुसार, कम्पनीले स्थानीय सहमति बिना दैनिक भारी सामग्री ओसारपोसार गरिरहेको छ, जसले गर्दा गाउँलेहरू आक्रोशित भएर
विरोधमा, स्थानीयहरूले पुल मुनि जडान गरिएका भर्‍याङहरू हटाएका छन्।

उनीहरूको मुख्य माग भनेको सुरक्षित भारी सामग्री ओसारपोसार सक्षम पार्न पुललाई बलियो बनाउनु हो। कम्पनीका प्रतिनिधिहरू र स्थानीयहरू बीच लिखित सम्झौताहरू छलफल गरिएको थियो।

फेरि पनि कम्पनीले साँझ पख पारेर पुलमाथि भारी सामग्री ढुवानी गरिरहेको स्थानीयहरूले देखाइएको भिडियो सार्वजनिक गरेका छन्, जसले गर्दा उनीहरूको असन्तुष्टि तनाव बढ्दै गएको हो।

Press Release from the Office of the District Collector Gyalshing

DC Gyalshing Inspects Landslide Affected Areas at Upper Lingchom

Gyalshing, September 11 :District Collector Gyalshing Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa visited the areas affected by the landslide at Khorong, Upper Lingchom, along the Pelling Dentam road in the Lingchom-Tikjek GPU, today.

The landslide occurred in between 8:30 pm and 9:00 pm on September 10, triggered by the heavy rainfall.

District Collector Gyalshing examined the landslide site and carried out a detailed evaluation of the damages to Ms Bimla Gurung's residence and the eight other affected houses. It was reported during the evaluation that the occupants of the affected eight houses have already been relocated to a safe location.

DC Gyalshing Mr Denzongpa engaged with the affected residents of the area, attentively listened to every concern raised. He assured his continuous support and help in accordance with the applicable regulations of District Disaster Management Authority Gyalshing.

DC Gyalshing shared that, two JCBs for clearing the debris from the roads had been already allocated and further two more is tentative to be arrived soon. He even suggested commuters to consider for opting Lingchom road as an alternative route to Dentam.

District Collector Gyalshing was accompanied by Chairman RDD Mr Narayan Khatiwada,DPO DDMA Gyalshing Mr Ganesh Kumar Rai, Panchayats, representatives of the communities and general public.

"गत राति अविरल वर्षाका कारण 02 याङथाङ निर्वाचन क्षेत्रको माथिल्लो रिम्बिक क्षेत्रमा पहिरो जाँदा तीन जनाको तत्काल मृत्यु भयो। स्थानीय विधायक तथा मन्त्री भिमहाङ लिम्बु, SSB कर्मचारी, प्रहरी र गाउँलेहरूको सहयोगमा मृतकहरूको शव निकालिएको थियो। घाइतेहरूलाई उपचारको लागि जिल्ला अस्पताल गेजिङ लगिएको थियो। भिरालो र उबडखाबड भूभाग भएकाले उद्धार कार्य अत्यन्तै चुनौतीपूर्ण थियो।"
