Srinagar, October 16: Police on Saturday identified second militant killed in encounter with joint team of Police, Army and CRPF in Pampore area of Pulwama as Shahid Khurshid, a resident of Chanapora Srinagar.
Talking to jk news breaks Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that Shahid was one among the collaborators in the recent civilians in Srinagar.
Shahid is the third city militant killed in last 24 hours, the IGP said.
Earlier police said two militants were killed in Pampore Gunfight and one of them was immediately identified as Umer Mustaq Khanday, LeT Commander who Police claim was involved in killing of two cops at Baghat Barzulla earlier this year.

*Killing unarmed civilians a conspiracy to damage age-old communal harmony in Kashmir: J&K DGP Dilbagh Singh*

Srinagar, Oct 07 : Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh Thursday said that killing of unarmed civilians in Srinagar is a move to damage and attack the age-old traditional communal harmony in Kashmir and police has already got some clues about previous killings and will also probe the fresh incident too. He, however, was quick to add that the killers will be nabbed very soon.
Talking to reporters outside the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Sangam, Eidgah, Srinagar, the DGP said that killing of innocent civilians reflects “frustration and barbarism.”
“This is an attempt to defame local Muslims of Kashmir. Killing innocent civilians including teachers is a move to attack and damage the age-old tradition of communal harmony and brotherhood in Kashmir,” the J&K Police chief said. He said killing innocents is a conspiracy to “target local ethos and values” which will be defeated by the police and people collectively.
He said that police have got some clues and leads about the killers in previous cases and that the fresh case will be probed too. “I talked to staff members of the school and they are in total shock over losing two colleagues. Police will nab the killers very soon,” he said.

Bandipora 04/Oct:- Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Paid a surprise visit to Sumbal today and reviewed the ongoing development works in sumbal. Tehsildar Sumbal stayed with him during this visit.
Meanwhile, Dr. Owais Ahmed while talking to the media said that we want to see our Bandipora as the new Bandipora. The Roads from sumbal to Gurez which are dilapidated we are trying to complete Macdimization Work in this year so that people will not suffer .
Deputy commissioner dr Owias Ahmed further said that devlopment work would continue in the district.
Hailstorm Hits Villgam Hamlets; Causes Extensive Damage to Orchards, paddy fields .
Handwara, October 03: A hailstorm setting in this evening has wrecked havoc to orchards and standing crops here in multiple hamlets of Taratpora Ramhall area.
Reports reaching Srinagar-based news agency said that the hailstorm witnessed in Manzgam Taratpora and Kulmoona Taratpora started at around 8:28 PM. Lasting for about 15 minutes, the hailstorm caused an extensive damage to orchards including apple, and paddy fields besides substantially damaging vegetable gardens.
Meanwhile locals from other areas have also urged authorities to compensate for the damage caused.
