5 Things to consider when designing your website:
1. Figure out the purpose of your website
It can be for lead generation, online selling, branding, or providing information.
2. Draw a site map
Start from the homepage and list all pages, elements, and categories that you want on your website.
3. Content
The pictures and unique content you want to feature on your website. Remember your content has to be relevant and hold the viewer's attention to help with the ranking of the site.
4. Responsive layout
Most people use their mobile phones and tablets which means your site should adjust to different screens.
5. Load time
Users abandon a website if it takes too long to load, so it’s important to optimise image sizes to load the site faster

Hello folks! It's Monday which means Marketing Mantras around here x

Trends show that online shopping growth isn't going away. Digital presence and marketing are becoming more and more important. Although businesses must also remember that despite the drive towards digitalization, we are still selling to humans. And humans care about making a connection with brands and seek out in-person experiences like going to physical stores to do their shopping. Connecting online and offline marketing allows customers to jump smoothly and easily between the two.
Some ways to integrate:
1. Associate offline promotions with an online call to action. Eg: Encouraging customers to share their email address or follow you on social media.
2. Vice versa to the above: Give online coupons and discount vouchers to use in-store to increase foot traffic
3. Click and Collect: Feed their instant gratification by online purchase while getting them physically instore to increase the chance of impulsive buy
4. Brand consistency - maintaining a consistent look, feel, and message across online and offline. Your print, instore decor, mobile, web, and social media campaigns should all fall in line with your brand’s style.

Show your face!
One of the most important content pillars is personalisation. It creates a strong human connection with your audience, it shows vulnerability, and to be honest, people like to buy from real people.
Did you know studies showed that social media posts that show faces have a 45% higher engagement rate?
So start doing the behind the scenes videos and photos for your brand.
Do live videos.
Do a branding photoshoot.
Post selfies. Add stories.
Show up for your brand and business!

Marketing Metrics alerts us to which ideas we should replicate and which we should look to improve.
It helps us to figure out what we did that created positive results. Did a message resonate particularly well? Any new tactics that proved beneficial? If we understand what worked best, we can then use this knowledge to improve future campaigns.
On the flip side of that, we also need to determine what didn’t seem to work for us. Not everything we do will be a home run, and that’s okay. When something doesn’t work well, we have an opportunity to ask why not and figure out what we should avoid in the future or what we could do instead.

Some key metrics to monitor and analyze:
Website traffic - demographic, source, bounce rate
Website Traffic to Website Lead Ratio
Social media interactions, shares, and mentions
Cost per click for paid social and digital ads and conversion rate
Cost of Customer Acquisition
Special offers or coupons redeemed
Completed online forms
Lifetime Value of a Customer
Emails Opens and Click-Through Rate
Email unsubscribes and bounce rates
Blog comments and visits
Press mentions
Direct mail response rate

We’ve all witnessed a fundamental shift in 2020 customer behaviour. Many businesses have also switched their priority from sales to retention. We noticed new ways of communication that have come into place to reach customers. We are well aware that people are less likely to spend money the same way they did pre-pandemic. But it’s not all gloom and doom. And there’s no reason to not be optimistic(cautiously so) when we craft our 2021 marketing strategy. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

1. Make sure your business is easily available online - SEO or PPC, now is the time (In case you haven’t noticed, more people are online right now than in their cars or walking the sidewalks, people are also not hanging out friends and family so not as much of word of mouth happening)
2. Further to the above, get as many as customer reviews and testimonials online. Advocacy marketing is huge right now. It will take you one step forward in creating online credibility.
3. Create a corona based strategy - the problem is corona how is your business offering the solution. Whether it’s showing customers your extra corona safe protocol or telling your customer how your service is important now more than ever with the world shifting online
4. Show the community you care. Right now what the world needs more than profit is empathy and kindness. When you show your audience that you care about them and the community, you inspire and incentivise them to pay attention to your updates and engage with you more.
5. Unique circumstances like now provide opportunities for a special offer. Anytime you tell a customer that they can save money, you’re likely to get their attention, more so during times like now. Offers don’t only help your customers; they also help your business as well. From increasing sales to improving brand awareness.

Marketing is about communicating your value to the customer. And while doing so it's important to have good marketing photos. A survey revealed that people are 79% more likely to read content and 61% more likely to remember that if it’s paired with an image.
Humans are visual creatures. Half of the human brain is directly or indirectly devoted to processing visual information. There’s no doubt that good impressive photos will make your website infinitely more engaging. You can use them to build your brand on social media, feature them in your blog posts as well.
Also, it’s important to use good photos in brochures and promotional materials of all kinds. By investing in professional photography you will enhance your marketing efforts in a plethora of ways. Happy Monday y'all x

Marketing is all about goals. Without them it’s hard to know whether or not all the work we put in is worthwhile.
I like to think of it like planning a trip and in order to know when we’ve arrived, we need to pick a destination first. Otherwise it’ll just be aimless travelling.

While setting marketing goals keep these in mind:
1. Be specific. Put down clearly defined goals.
2. Measure it. You must have a way to measure.
3. Be realistic. Set reasonable targets that’s doable with the resources available to you.
4. Time-bound. The goal must have a date by which you will achieve the set metric.

Here’s a list of common marketing goals:
Increase website traffic
Grow your database(email or WhatsApp list)
Gain more social media followers and engagement
Improve leads and conversion rates
Increase brand awareness
Develop stronger relationship with customers
Establish your business as an authority
Reach new customers/demographics

Now write down the specific goals for your business with numbers , add finish dates, a plan with content required and campaigns to run, figure out how you’re going to measure the results... last but not least go kick them goals! x

It's important to remember that people searching on Google for a product or a service are pretty low in the decision-making funnel. They have already decided that they need your product or service, now they are actively looking for someone to provide it to them. There is no doubt that AdWords is a great tool to get in front of them, but you MUST keep in mind that it’s essentially just a traffic tool.

If you want to turn these people into customers you also need to work at the other end to get the people who have clicked on your ad to convert the leads. That's where the landing page plays an important role in creating the experience to make this conversion happen.

This Monday brings to you 3 tips to run a successful Google Adwords Campaign x

Did you know that compared to reading a blog or a post, around five in seven people are more likely to watch a video? Every year, the amount of video content consumed keeps increasing, which has led to live streaming features from Facebook, Instagram, and other major social media platforms. The benefit of live streaming is building better relationships with consumers and it engages viewers in immediate and authentic ways that other social media formats cannot. It gives your brand a face and voice on which to pin their loyalty. This is also a great way to assist customers with common problems while positioning yourself as a business that wants to help. Of course, you can also show your knowledge and become a leader in the market. Happy Monday, y'all!

Hello folks! I’m Smylee Nallalagu, the face behind MITH marketing and I’m passionate about marketing(borderline obsessive even!). I see an ad and right away my mind begins a dissection: the psychology behind the construct, how the algorithm chose me, the effectiveness of the creative- whether the headline, body copy, white space, graphics are doing the AIDA!
