India’s cybersecurity nodal agency CERT-In has issued a notice to Twitter asking the micro-blogging platform for full details of the recent global hack targeting high-profile users, as it sought complete information on number of Indian users affected as well as impact on data, a source said.

The source privy to the development told PTI that CERT-In has also asked Twitter for information on number of users from India who have visited the malicious tweets and links, and whether the affected users have been informed by the platform about unauthorised access to their Twitter accounts.

The government has also demanded information of vulnerability exploited by attackers and modus operandi of the attack and sought details of remedial actions taken by Twitter to mitigate the impact of the hacking incident.

At the AGM, Akash Ambani gave viewers a demonstration of the new Jio TV Plus interface. He claimed that 12 OTT platforms including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Hotstar, Sony LIV, and others will be able to select content from the platform without the need to log-in to every new application separately.

The interface will divide content in different genres for ease of browsing. The TV shows and movies will be arranged in different categories for Jio TV Plus customers.
Another feature that will help in accessing content is the voice command feature. The Jio TV Plus will be able to look for different content using voice search. Other new features include a unique polling option. Users will be able to conduct polls on the Jio TV Plus. The poll numbers can easily be accessed in realtime.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held a discussion with Google and Alphabet chief executive Sundar Pichai "on a wide range of subjects". The Prime Minister also discussed the challenges of global pandemic and new work culture with the top business leader.
Later in the day, Pichai addressed the sixth annual edition of "Google for India" virtual event and announced a digitisation fund. Google will invest $10 billion (Rs 75,000 crore) in India over the next five to seven years, he added.

Google will invest $10 billion in India over the next five to seven years, the search giant's boss Sundar Pichai told ET in an exclusive interview on Monday morning. Google will use this investment to buy stakes in large Indian companies as well as niche digital service providers.

The announcement signals the company's intent to scale up the India operations and get a strong hold on the Indian digital ecosystem. This comes right after Reliance Jio closed 12 rounds of funding in the last three months from marque investors including $5.7 billion from social media giant Facebook.

Facebook on Friday said it is banning content that promotes "conversion therapy," which is based on the unfounded notion that g**s can change their sexual orientation through psychological or spiritual intervention.

Facebook and its image-centric social network Instagram are updating policies to require removal of content that directly promotes conversion therapy when such posts are flagged by users, according to the California-based internet giant.
The move is an extension of an existing ban on ads that promote the tactic, which medical experts consider ineffective and often harmful.

The first major hit came last month, when TikTok was blocked in India after a heated border clash with China left at least 20 Indian soldiers dead. Then, on Monday, US authorities said they would look at banning the app because they consider it a possible threat to national security. That news broke as the company said it would leave Hong Kong because of concerns over a sweeping national security law China imposed on the city.
