Sevalaya is an NGO based in Kasuva Village of Thiruninravur which, inspired by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and Mahakavi Bharathiyar, is giving back to the community. It is helping the underprivileged in different states of Tamil Nadu through schools, funds, donation drives, community colleges, old-age homes, building houses and many more. The 35 year old established is just getting started.

If the cards were played right, Selaiyur lake could've been a one of the many coveted hangout spots for the students of Madras Christian College. But unfortunately that is not the case. The lake is dirty and the banks are filled with heaps of garbage and feaces. Even the natives are tired of the negligence that the lake faces. The lake could've been a picturesque place if it was maintained properly but now it has become an environmental concern which needs our immediate and utmost attention. Pollution is not only a local concern, but a global one. The World's environment continues to decay a little more everyday, and we have to be once again reminded that there is no plan or planet b.

Manipur: Through the eyes of a native
The Manipur Violence is something that has been ongoing for a few months. Ever since March, the Meitei and Kuki tribes have had clashes with each other that have led to countless lives lost and violence against women at an all time high. As a Manipur native, my friend shared the horrors that her friends and relatives have been facing through all this time. She shared how this violence is not spontaneous, but a product of years of unsolved and underlying conflicts. As the state continues to be used as different political parties to fit into their agenda and ideologies, she can't help but wonder when will it all come to an end and she can go back to her homeland and enjoy a nice summer with her family.
