Meet Vulgustrike – The Thrash/Groove Metal Act From Kolkata Making Music About The Struggles of Common People
Vulgustrike is a Kolkata-based band that has been a part of the underground metal scene since 2017. With a primary focus on the uprise of common people against the system and authority, their lyrics are centered around themes of retaliation, suppression, exploitation, and denial of justice. The name Vulgustrike itself signifies "common people" in Latin, and their music reflects their rebellious spirit.
The band's sound is a unique blend of thrash and groove metal, with influences from legendary bands such as Sepultura, Megadeth, Testament, Death, Slayer, Pantera, and Exhorder. Each member brings their individual playing styles and strengths, which are incorporated into the writing of their original music.
Background:
Formed initially as a jam project between Soham Ghosh and Sayak Bagchi, the band evolved to include a bass player and Soham taking on guitar and vocal duties. However, it was not until the addition of Wazeer Wohra as the fourth member and vocalist in mid-2016 that the band truly found their voice. Since then, they have released one demo and three singles, with Arka Roy joining the lineup as the full-time bassist in late 2017.

Vulgustrike has been a part of various gigs organized under several banners, including Putrid Ascendency (Kolkata Black Mass Ritual, Slaughter in Kolkata), Earth One Productions (Fistfull of Steel), Calcutta Punk Society (Rock for Light 1 & 2), Gorkhakommand (Darjeeling Death Fest 2019), Primordial Shriek (Rockstock, Dead of Winter) Thunderstruk (Hotter Than Hell, Threatfest 2022 Pre-Party) and Kolkata Metalheads (Abomination 2022). Their high-energy performances and powerful lyrics have earned them the distinction of winning the Wacken Metal Battle India 2019 Kolkata leg and competing in the Wacken Metal Battle India Finals 2019, Bangalore.
Currently, Vulgustrike is without a full-time bass player and will depend mostly on session bass players for the foreseeable future. The band will be playing at Metamorphosis Vol. 2 with a new lineup, including a second guitarist, as they continue to bring their unique brand of metal to audiences across India.

The word "raid" typically brings to mind a sudden attack or assault against an enemy, often associated with warfare. This suggests the use of force or a counter-threat against a previous attacker. In the current musical landscape, where heavy bands often use words such as "brutal," "vicious," and "savage" to describe their sound, it is logical that words associated with attack are prevalent in describing heavy music in today’s musical landscape.
RAID, a hardcore/crossover thrash metal band from Hyderabad, India, is changing the way people perceive heavy music in the country. The band’s name is an abbreviation for “Rueban And the Imperium Division” monikered after frontman Reuban Issac. The band was formed in June 2016 by Issac, the vocalist and brainchild of the group, and has undergone various changes to reach its current lineup, which includes Abishek Allapanda on guitars, Sam Jaba on bass, and Bobbin Jaydev on drums.

Meet Obnoxious – The Thrash Metal Rangers From Dhaka
Obnoxious is a Dhaka-based thrash metal band that has taken the Bangladesh music scene by storm. Comprising of four talented musicians, the band is known for its unique sound and electrifying live performances.

Jason Richardson and Luke Holland to tour India in March 2023
The All That Remains guitarist has joined hands with the drummer to tour India over the span of March covering 4 major cities of the country - Delhi NCR (15th), Bangalore (17th), Kolkata (18th) and Mumbai (19th) as a part of the Bighorn Festival organized by Skillbox. The venues are yet to be announced.
Jason is known for his work in bands like Born of Osiris and Chelsea Grin alongside his solo ventures. He has also collaborated with bands like Polyphia, Veil of Maya, August Burns Red and All Shall Perish amongst others.
Whereas Luke gained popularity through his YouTube channel where he uploaded drumming videos. He was a past member of the American metalcore band The Word Alive and has collaborated with multiple bands like I See Stars and Falling in Reverse. He has also previously collaborated with Richardson on the latter's album "I".

Due to some unexpected circumstances Broken Barons had to pull out of thr Metamorphosis line-up last minute. So instead, we have another band in their place for the event. Meet PANIC – The Bengali Progressive Metal Band Aiming To Protest Against The Injustice And Corruption In Our Society. PANIC, INDIA is a Bengali progressive metal band hailing from Hooghly, West Bengal. The band was formed in October 2018 with a vision to spread good music among others and protest against the injustice and corruption in our society. Background: The band's current line-up includes Koustav Ghosh on bass and vocals, Shibam Biswas and Subhajit Parui on guitars, and Souparno Nandi on drums and backing vocals. Since the band's inception, they have played in various gigs across the country and have achieved great success. In 2019, PANIC was the 1st runners-up and won the Best Bassist Award in ‘Kalyani Band Er Juddho’. They were also runners-up and won the Best Bassist Award in ‘Road To Glory in 2022’.
