Advisor Baseer Khan visits IID Centre Battal Ballian, Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER-16:- Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today undertook an extensive tour of Integrated Industrial Development (IID) Center Battal Ballian, Udhampur to assess and address the difficulties faced by the industrial unit holders besides taking stock of functioning and progress of several successful units of the Udhampur industrial sector.
Advisor was accompanied by Director Industries, Anoo Malhotra, MD SICOP, ADC, Mohd Syed Khan, GM DIC, Pankaj Kumar Anand, President Industries Association Udhampur; Udhay Veer, President Chamber of Commerce and other officers of various departments besides representatives of Industrial units.
President Industries Association Udhampur and other members highlighted their issues and demands like paucity of drinking water, road connectivity, un-interrupted power supply in the industrial area, waiving off of fees for small scale industries, implementation of effective Single window system, Independent feeder for industrial area, extension of date of power amnesty scheme, establishment of warehouse and transport yard, establishment of fire station in industrial area, Common effluent treatment plant, eviction/ cancellation of allotment of industrial units which have not started working.
While interacting with the industrialists, Advisor said that the main aim of this interaction is to listen to the problems being faced by industrial units and resolve these problems on priority. He directed the Director Industries to hold seminar and educate industrialists about the initiatives and new schemes for industries.

Shopian, Oct 07 : Two militants have been killed in a night long encounter between government forces and militants at Sugan village of Zainapora belt in South Kashmir's Shopian district.
A senior police officer told news agency, that two unidentified militant have been killed while as seaech operation is on in the area.
He added that militants were repeatedly asked to surrender, however, they refused to do so and fired upon forces which was retialated resulted in killing of two militants.
Earlier an official said that a joint team of Police, army's 44 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure internet services have been snapped in district Shopian.

*Govt foils PDP meeting, leaders disallowed to leave home*
On Thursday, several leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) were stopped by the police from leaving their residences to attend a party meeting scheduled at 11 am.
Talking to The Kashmir Walla, Mohit Bhan, spokesperson of the PDP, said that the meeting was supposed to be attended by all district-level leaders. However, he said, the leaders who were under house arrest were not allowed to attend the meeting. “The leaders include GNL Hanjura, Abdul Rehman Veeri, Naeem Akhtar, Sartaj, Khurshid Alam, Aijaz Mir, Waheed Rehman Para, and Mohd Yousuf Bhat,” said Mr. Amin.
In a purported video, Mr. Akhter, a senior party leader, was disallowed by the policemen manning the door of his residence in Srinagar. “Sir, you are not allowed [to leave]. I called the higher-ups [and they have not allowed],” one of the policemen can be heard saying in the video. In a reply, Mr. Akhter asked for an order disallowing him. Later in the video, Mr. Akhter asked a policeman if he can leave by walking; he was disallowed, again.
Later, Mr. Akhter wrote on Twitter: “Despite being free on paper and in govt submissions in HC and SC, PDP Leadership continues to be under illegal detention, without any official orders. Video from today – I wasn’t allowed to attend the PDP meeting nor were any of my colleagues.”
The party’s also shared a video on Twitter, where Mr. Hanjura was disallowed by the policemen. “Administration that brazenly lied and misled Hon’ble High Court,” the PDP wrote on Twitter. “Here General Secretary GNL Hanjura Sb not allowed to proceed further to attend the party meeting.”
Earlier, Party General Secretary, Mr. Hanjura, called “an important meeting” of the senior party leaders and functionaries at the PDP headquarters in Srinagar. The meeting was scheduled to discuss the prevailing political situation and general party affairs.

District admin intensifies Covid testing in Udhampur Township
Asymptomatic positive patients allowed for Home isolation
UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 31:- District Administration Udhampur, under the directions of District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla, has decided to intensify testing for COVID-19 in theUdhampur Township and Government offices.
In this regard, the DDC said that in next 10 days, starting from September 2, 2020 all Government employees and staff of business establishments will be tested for COVID-19. The schedule for the testing has been formulated and the same will be shared with concerned district officer, he said.
The COVID-19 Testing of employees was started from the office of District Development Commissioner and the sample collection was started with the DDC.
The District heads of all departments have been directed to inform the staff about the schedule date and time and ensure that all the employees remain present. No leave /exemption would be allowed for anybody.
Similarly, massive testing is also being conducted in containment zones to contain the COVID-19 infection.
District administration has appealed the employees and residents of containment zones to extend full cooperation during the COVID-19 testing, failing which strict action will be taken against them.
Meanwhile, the district administration has allowed asymptomatic covid patients for home isolation as per the Government’s new SOPs.
