THE LS 410 is a versatile engine . A chugger and a sprinter depending on how you send air into it . At 37000 kms I can still ask more from it and it will offer without complains . Highly torquey from the word go and yet not snappy for more composure while handling technical terrains. Burns less oil than any RE I have owned , produces less heat ( with the right AFR ) than any and every short stroke motor I have owned , and goes anywhere and every where I want it to go . A little tractor engine than has some crazy mechanical noises but all can be resolved with a little more viscous oil. Could it do with more power , a BIG YESSS. A good high flow air filter and a free flow muffler with a power commander ( Powertronic ) or a Booster plug ( fuel X ) , a stage 1 or 2 camshaft , a better ignition system and some good clutch plates with some high tension springs make this into the Engine that it was ALWAYS MEANT IT BE .

Timing is SPOT ON throughout the rev range . Fuel mix needs more fuel at bottom end for trail riding scenarios. AFR and ignition timing adjustments are BEST DONE by FEEL and reading spark plugs . .

Making Tweaks to accommodate the TEC camshaft. Powertronic is a wonderful device if you understand how fueling and timing FEELS otherwise it is just a bunch of numbers . Peak power and Peak torque don’t matter if the ride quality is poor . Also when you don’t have a dyno around the ONLY WAY to tune is through constant test runs . .
