*7 Change of Land Use cases approved at Rajouri*

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 12: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today chaired a meeting of District Level Committee to review cases related to the change of land use from agricultural to non-agricultural purposes.

A total of eight cases were presented for consideration and after a detailed discussion and scrutiny, seven cases were approved, while one case was rejected due to unclear land title. The Deputy Commissioner instructed Revenue officials to keep a close check to ensure that no construction activity is allowed without obtaining the necessary permissions.

The meeting was attended by ACR, Mohd Jahangir Khan, DFO Nowshera Shewata Deona, DFO Rajouri, Assistant Director Fire & Emergency Services, and other district officers.

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 12: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, today chaired a meeting here in the Conference Hall, Dak Bungalow to review the implementation and progress achieved under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP).

The ADDC assessed key aspects of the program, including the applications received, approvals granted, enrollment and completion of Daksh Kissan training, establishment of units, fund utilization, and the number of farmers benefiting from Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKG). He also reviewed the registration of farms on KKG, as well as the status of credit applications submitted and sanctioned.

Emphasizing the need for efficient ex*****on, Dr. Thapa directed the Chief Agriculture Officer to distribute targets among Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officers (SDAOs) to ensure timely achievement of objectives under HADP.

*DC Rajouri orders door-to-door campaign to encourage registration*

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 10: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall, DC Office to review the progress made in the promotion and registration for PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The scheme aims to promote solar energy adoption and provide affordable electricity to consumers.

During the meeting, the DC directed officials to identify beneficiaries paying electricity bills exceeding ₹ 2,000 per month and prioritize them under the scheme after imparting adequate awareness. He emphasized the need for an intensive door-to-door awareness campaign to educate the public about the benefits of the initiative.

To strengthen enforcement, ADCs, ACD, and SDMs were instructed to increase monitoring in their respective jurisdictions to keep check on power pilferage, theft. Additionally, they were directed to inspect commercial units, including crushers and welding shops to check compliance with electricity regulations.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the installation of smart meters to enhance transparency and efficiency in power consumption. He further instructed JPDCL to assign daily targets to JEs for registering beneficiaries and mandated their on-boarding to expedite the registration process.

*Director RDD Jammu reviews Implementation of Rural Development Schemes, Sets Deadline for PMAY-G survey & registeration of eligible households*

The Director of Rural Development Department (RDD) Jammu, Mumtaz Ali today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of various developmental schemes across all blocks of the district. The meeting focused on key initiatives, including MGNREGA, CD&PYT, CAPEX, and other schemes aimed at strengthening rural infrastructure and improving livelihoods.

A major point of discussion was the survey and registration process for the left-out eligible households under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G). The Director emphasized the need for expediting the door-to-door survey to ensure that no eligible household is overlooked. He directed all concerned officials to complete the registration process in strict compliance with PMAY-G guidelines and set March 31, 2025, as the deadline for achieving 100% coverage.

During the meeting, the Block Development Officers (BDOs) were instructed to intensify efforts in implementing PMAY-G and other rural development schemes. The Director underscored the importance of interdepartmental coordination to overcome bottlenecks and ensure seamless ex*****on of projects.

Reaffirming the department’s commitment to rural development, the Director urged officials to work proactively to achieve set targets within the stipulated timeframe. He stressed that the benefits of government schemes must reach every eligible beneficiary, ensuring inclusive growth and sustainable rural progress.

*DC visits Lodgement Centres to enquire about Safety, wellbeing of families shifted from Badhaal Village*

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 07: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today visited the lodgement centres established at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Rajouri and Nursing College to enquire about the safety and well being of the families shifted from Badhaal village.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the families and enquired about their well-being. He assessed any additional assistance required for their comfort. The families expressed gratitude for the arrangements made by the district administration, acknowledging the timely support provided to them in the hour of need.

DC Rajouri inspected all the arrangements and directed the designated nodal officers to ensure that all necessary facilities are provided at the lodgement centres. He reaffirmed that the safety and well-being of the relocated families are of foremost importance and that all departments are working in coordination to resolve the issue effectively.

Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner assured the families that once the ongoing investigation was complete, they will be shifted back to their village. He also expressed appreciation for the people's cooperation with the administration during this period.

*Deputy Chief Minister inaugurates ARTO Camp Office at Nowshera*

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 07: In a significant step towards improving transport related services in border areas, Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, today inaugurated the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Camp Office at Nowshera.

The initiative aims to provide doorstep services to the people of Nowshera and Sunderbani, who previously had to travel over 80 km to Rajouri for essential transport services.

To ensure efficient service delivery, the newly established camp office will conduct vehicle inspections on every Monday besides Driving trial tests on every Saturday.

This move is expected to greatly benefit the residents, particularly those living near the Line of Control (LoC), by saving time, effort and travel expenses. The public has widely appreciated this initiative, hailing it as a landmark decision by the government to enhance accessibility to transport services in remote areas.

Speaking on the occasion, the Dy CM emphasized the government's commitment towards decentralizing essential services for welfare of the people. He highlighted that the ARTO Camp Office at Nowshera is a step towards ensuring ease of access to transport-related facilities, reducing hardships faced by the local population.

*Badhaal village health crisis*

*529 insecticide, pesticide, herbicides and fertilizer samples collected from across Rajouri District in connection with ongoing investigation*

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 06: The dedicated teams constituted by Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma have collected 529 samples of insecticides, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers from across the district in connection with the ongoing investigation concerning Badhaal village.

A total of 257 shops were identified for sampling, including 60 selling insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides, besides other 194 selling fertilizers. Out of these, 254 shops were subjected to rigorous sample collection.

During the extensive drive, a total of 529 samples were collected, comprising 293 samples of insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides, along with 236 samples of fertilizers. These samples will be sent for testing, the results of which may play a crucial role in the investigation related to Badhaal village.

The entire exercise was conducted jointly by the Executive Magistrate, Police, Health and Agriculture Department under the close supervision of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa.

Continuing its efforts against drug trafficking Rajouri Police apprehended a accused and seized a significant quantity of banned narcotic substances during a naka checking at Khandli

A Police Team from Police Station Rajouri was conducting routine vehicle and pedestrian checking when a motorcycle Registration No. JK11G 9980 coming from Mehra towards Rajouri was intercepted. The rider, who was carrying a backpack attempted to flee upon seeing the police team but was swiftly chased down and apprehended.

During Search the police recovered 24 boxes of Tapentadol, total 2,400 tablets and 6 strips of Tramadol, total 60 tablets.

The accused has been identified as Asif Ali S/O Nazir Hussain resident of Parori Gujjaran Tehsil Koteranka. A case has been registered under FIR No. 67/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Rajouri.

The investigation is underway to trace the entire supply chain and the accused’s connections in drug trafficking.

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 06: Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Rajouri Advocate Naseem Liaqat chaired a meeting to review progress of District Capex Budget 2024 works in the District.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, (Chief Executive Officer DDC Council). Dr. Thapa provided a comprehensive overview of the development works across various sectors.

The DDC Chairperson reviewed the status of Capex works undertaken in the Public Works Department (PWD) and Rural Development Department (RDD) sectors. The progress of projects under JAKEDA, the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL), and the health sector was also assessed. Additionally, the Chairperson evaluated the works taken up under the Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP) and Sima Suraksha Yojana (SSY).

Advocate Naseem Liaqat emphasized the need for the de-silting of khuls under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) to improve irrigation
channels. He also stressed the importance of expediting pending works and directed officials to reallocate non-feasible projects to ensure optimal utilization of funds.

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 05: Mission Director Khursheed Ahmad Shah today took a comprehensive review of the Jal Jeevan Mission works in Rajouri district at a meeting held today.

The meeting was informed that 298 JJM schemes have been approved for the district, of which 183 are for the Rajouri division and 115 are for the Nowshera division.

The Mission Director directed the department to focus on ensuring quality work, timely completion of projects and proper supervision of the same.

The Mission Director also reviewed component wise progress including construction of dug wells, borewell, RSFP, OHT, SSFP, Pipe network. It was informed that of 351 components including dug well, borewell, RSFP, OHT, SSFP, Pipe network, the work on 143 is complete. He also reviewed the status of the mechanical and electro mechanical components.

In a Significant action against drug menace,a police party from Police Station Rajouri while conducting patrolling in the Sheema Crossing and ITI Road areas on Republic Day, noticed a suspicious individual walking from Malik Market towards DPL Crossing.

Upon spotting the police party near ITI Rajouri the suspect attempted to flee but was tactfully apprehended by the police team. During a personal search 6 grams of he**in (Chitta)-like substance was recovered from his possession.

The individual identified himself as Haroon Rashid S/O Abdul Rashid resident of Ward No. 02 Rajouri.

A case under FIR No. 53/2025 has been registered under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Rajouri. The investigation is underway to ascertain both the backward and forward linkages.

It is pertinent to mention that Haroon is a notorious drug peddler from Rajouri, who has been involved in several FIRs under the NDPS Act. His wife has also been involved in drug trafficking and was recently booked under the PITNDPS.

RAJOURI, JANUARY 23: To provide them instant and better preventive care, the close contacts of affected families of village Badhaal have been shifted to Nursing College in Rajouri on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma.

*The decision was taken to ensure better preventative care and close monitoring of their health, as tests revealed the presence of certain toxins, not bacterial or viral infection.*

*“Close contacts and High risk individuals have been shifted to the Nursing College to expedite care, as the distance from Badhaal to Rajouri causes delays in responding to medical needs” the DC said.*

*To review the arrangements at the Nursing College, the DC chaired a meeting and inspected the accommodation facilities. He also interacted with the relocated individuals, inquiring about their well-being. Addressing their concerns, the DC assured that their domestic animals will be taken care of at Badhaal by the Animal Husbandry and Agriculture Departments.*

*Key measures taken by the district administration included the Installation of CCTV cameras to monitor meal preparation and distribution, with all activities videographed for transparency and deployment of female officers for the welfare of women.*

The DC visited the hospital this morning to inquire about the condition of the patients.*

*Additional District Development Commissioner Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa is closely monitoring the centers to ensure seamless coordination among all departments. The district administration is diligently implementing the directions issued by the Chief Secretary and Divisional Commissioner Jammu.*
