K S Thankachi, dist. Officer, G S Pradeep was a childhood prodigy, by hearted Ramayana and Mahabharata at the age of 4 and reading thousand books in ten years he has became a surprise to one and all who knew him. Joined in the govt service at the age of 20 and left the job very soon by becoming Grandmaster through the most famous and first reverse quiz ‘Aswamedham’ in Kairali TV. This show changed
the mind set of the younger generation towards reading and learning. ‘Aswamedham’ went on air for 1500 episodes and he was invited by the Star TV to perform the same in Tamil and Kannada. Very soon Pradeep became an icon for the youth through his unbelievable capabilities. But achievements as a television performer haven’t satisfied him. For the last two years he has been doing his programmes in six channels in Tamilnadu Srilanka and Malaysia. After recognizing his calibre and capability, International Tamil University came forward with a D-lit degree to honor him on behalf of the Tamil People. The India Today magazine has featured him as one of the 10 great media men in the last 20 years history of Kerala. Asian Television Organization announced him as the Most Influential Asian Television Personality of 2009. Most recently the Sri Lankan government announced his Grandmaster programme as the most influencing intellectual television programme of Sri Lanka. He has been slowly cultivating a new intellectual boom in Kerala. His efforts were never in vain. The social awareness of present generation grew into new heights because of his seemingly endless efforts. Contemporary youth turned passionate to know what is new and who is new. The infotainment led to career growth by inspiring them learn more. Keralas post modern generation attained a new futuristic vision and young minds became search engines. These social changes wouldn’t have been materialized without the presence of the hyper intelligent brain of Dr. G S Pradeep. Dr. G S Pradeep’s name is there in the literature world also. His pen has contributed the golden threshold of five books into the field of Malayalam literature. This contains books about mathematics, memory retention and IQ development and a book contains the poems of Grandmaster.
