The Shift from Carts to Social Media Reflection!!
Nature never changes. In the past, many individuals sold items in the bustling Sunday market. When Jio launched in Kashmir, offering free internet, and smartphones became accessible to the masses, something remarkable happened. The government provided a free hand to anyone wanting to claim the title of a journalist, even without formal degrees.

Suddenly, a wave of self proclaimed journalists emerged, creating pages under the banner of so called news channels. Every corner, every neighborhood, saw new names popping up, labeling themselves as media outlets.

But as time passed, many of them landed nowhere. They returned to their roots sales promotion. The only difference? The platform shifted from carts in the Sunday market to social media. They now go shop to shop, promoting jackets and other items, claiming to help society while serving their own interests.

The real question is who made them famous? Who followed, shared, and elevated their posts? It’s time to pause and think are we encouraging genuine voices or helping opportunists flourish? (c) Athwass
