The relentless exploitation of Vocational Trainers by private Vocational Training Providers has reached a breaking point. Their failure to disburse salaries on time has made our lives miserable, leaving us struggling to meet day-to-day needs and eroding our financial stability. Despite our hard work and dedication, we are forced to beg every time for our hard-earned, meager salaries. These companies, whose sole responsibility is to ensure timely salary disbursement, have consistently failed us. From the beginning, they have disregarded every term and condition in the , showing blatant disrespect for their role and our profession. Their presence has only served to mint profits from the system, reducing vocational education to a business that serves their greed while vocational trainers endure financial instability & disillusionment.
The of rupees wasted on these companies could be better spent strengthening vocational education itself. Merging Vocational Trainers with mainstream education, as outlined in NEP 2020, would not only uphold the dignity of vocational trainers but also restore vocational education to its true purpose—empowering students with real skills for their future. reforms must be implemented urgently, prioritizing this integration to bring an end to the unnecessary, exploitative role of these private companies.
While over 1.67 lakh teachers in Jammu & Kashmir are managed seamlessly by the School Education Department, Vocational Trainers, despite being just 2,200 in number, are left at the mercy of profit-driven private companies. Why should we be treated as second-class educators, receiving meager wages and then waiting months to receive them?
Vocational Trainers are human beings, deserving respect, fair pay, and reliable support. We urge the Honorable Chief Minister & Honorable Education Minister to kindly intervene, eliminate these exploitative companies from the system, and implement NEP 2020 reforms that will finally bring justice, stability, and dignity to vocational trainers.
