BJP leaders to lodge FIR against Ex Congress MLA Rashid Dar for his derogatory remarks against PM Modi: Altaf Thakur

‘Congress party rejected by one and all across India; Only Congress party can have people like Rashid Dar, only day-dreamers can speak about hanging PM Modi'

Srinagar, Oct 02: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) JK spokesman Saturday lambasted the former MLA of Congress for Sopore Abdul Rashid Dar for using derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendera Modi during a public rally in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district stating that the party will lodge FIR in every police station of north Kashmir against Dar.

In a statement issued here, BJP JK spokesman Altaf Thakur said that unfortunately Dar was an illiterate and yet managed to become MLA. “Imagine a person who would r**e urdu language by stating that ‘Kitna Yaad Thawega’ represents Congress and targets PM Modi. BJP’s J&K unit has decided to file a case against Dar in every police station of north Kashmir for his unparliamentary language against PM Modi,” Thakur said, adding that an illiterate person like Dar is daydreaming about hanging PM Modi if Congress comes to power.

“The fact remains that Congress will never come to power as the party has been rejected by one and all across India. Yet, a former Congress legislator dreams about his party coming to power. He will continue to daydream about it but the day will never come,” Thakur said.

He said that it was unfortunate to see people like Dar in the Congress party and what can one expect from the party that has ruined the country since 1947 for its own political benefits. “People like Dar in Congress party is a proof what the party is and what its people are,” Thakur said, adding that PM Modi is a world reputed leader and globally accepted visionary and people like Dar would hardly understand what Modiji is as Congress has become home for illiterates and incompetent people.

Apart from the leaders of ex-Ministers, former MLA's, the leaders of other Regional parties had come here but no reasonable arrangements were made for them to sit here while the wives and children of the bureaucracy were treated like VVIP's. The leading and Respected politicians were called to disgrace & humiliated in Air Show.

After being ‘abused’ ‘accused’ of ‘bias’ reporting, media personnel boycott presser called by Sikh body

Srinagar, July 1, KNT: Media personnel boycotted a press conference of a Sikh body after some Sikh leaders tried to manhandle them before the start of the presser here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.

Leaders of Sikh Community were scheduled to hold a press conference at Gurudwara Shaheed Bunga Sahib, Baghat Barzulla at 11 AM today. The organizers had requested media personnel to cover the presser. An invitation was extended to media by Santpal Singh, President Gurudwara Prabandak Committee Budgam.

Before the start of the press conference, some Sikh leaders accused media of bias reporting related to Rainawari incident and alleged that four Sikh girls are still missing, forcibly converted and media is not reporting about these episodes.

When one of the senior Journalists tried to make them understand that the job of media is to listen to all and report facts, some Sikh leaders lost cool and abused the Journalist.

“It was very unfortunate that we were attacked as if we are responsible for what has happened. They not only abused us but also tried to manhandle us. We were left with no option but to boycott the presser,” one of the Journalists told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

Another Journalist said that some Sikhs used unparliamentary language.

As reported earlier, some of the Sikh leaders, mostly from New Delhi alleged forcible conversion of some Sikh girls in Kashmir, an allegation refuted by some local Sikh leaders.

Yesterday, Chairman All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina had demanded implementation of Inter-Caste Marriage Act and Anti-Conversion Law in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, a Sikh leader from Gurudwara Prabandak Committee feigned ignorance about today’s incident saying they apologize if anybody has hurt and misbehaved with media personnel. (KNT)

US forces pull-out from Afghanistan may push in some ‘militants’ to Kashmir: Army

Ready to foil all possible infiltration bids, army keeping close watch on enemy; zero infiltration so far this year; dialogue and security situation two different things; conventional training first priority; police doing great job to curb narco-infiltration.

Abid Bashir

Srinagar, Jun 25 (KNO): General officer Commanding (GoC) of Srinagar-based army’s 15 Corps Lieutenant General D P Pandey Friday said that pull of US forces from Afghanistan may push in some militants into Kashmir but army was ready to deal with any misadventure on LoC and the hinterland.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a passing—out parade at JAKLI Regimental centre Rangreth on Srinagar on Srinagar outskirts, the GoC Pandey said that some people who are fond of freedom (Azadi) must ponder over what is the situation across LoC and the Pakistan—Afghanistan border. “Whatever happened 30 year ago caused a huge distress to the people of Kashmir. Yes, there is a possibility that US forces pull-out from Afghanistan may push some militants into Kashmir,” the GoC said as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “But situation is not what it was 30 years ago. We are ready and fully geared up to foil all bids and to face every challenge whether on LoC or the hinterland.”

The GoC 15 Corps was replying to a query whether US—forces pull—out from Afghanistan would have some sort of fall on Kashmir.

He said that for the army, the first priority is always conventional training, then counter insurgency operations or counter infiltration operations. “Wherever police need us for any kind of operation we are joining them,” GoC Pandey said. “Ceasefire or no ceasefire, our eyes are set on our enemy. We are ready to face any misadventure be that on the LoC or in the hinterland. We are ready to respond at every level effectively.”

Replying to a query that a lot of weaponry is coming for the army, the GoC said that it was a normal process which is part of annual turn—over. “Given the Chinese situation on the LAC, a balance of forces is being maintained,” he said.

The army officer said that earlier under narco—modules, only money would come but now drugs are also coming. “J&K police is dealing with the narco-infiltration very effectively and a lot of drugs have been seized. It’s high time for parents, civil society, and teachers to keep focusing on children so that they stay away from drugs,” he said.

Asked whether the recent dialogue between J&K politicians and New Delhi would have any impact on Kashmir’s security situation, GoC Pandey said that security situation and political process are two different things. “Dialogue is an ongoing process which is always on. Security situation is a different matter that is being tackled at different levels,” he said.

On militancy in Kashmir, the GoC said that unless the militant network goes, there is a need for a security grid so that people come out and live in a peaceful atmosphere. Asked about the status of infiltration on LoC in Kashmir, he said so far there is zero infiltration this year but launch pads are active. “Whatever happens on the LoC will be dealt with effectively and professionally,” he said—(KNO)
