Three Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances at Bhaderwah Guest House

Bhadharwa, Jan 2: Three persons were found dead at a Guest House in Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu, officials confirmed on Thursday.

According to a police official, the deceased have been identified as Ashutosh Rana, son of Dalip Singh from Bhella, Doda; Mukesh Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh from Domana, Jammu; and Sunny Choudhary, son of Subhash Choudhary from Bhawani, Nowshera, Rajouri.

"Their bodies were found in one of the guest house rooms," police official said.

He added that to determine the exact cause of death, authorities have initiated inquest proceedings and are actively investigating the matter. [KNT]

*Extortion case solved in Sgr, 3 accused held: Police*

Srinagar, Jan 01 (KNO): In a significant achievement, Police in Srinagar on Wednesday said to have solved a case of extortion and physical assault with the arrest of three individuals involved in the commission of crime.

“On 23/12/2024, an individual namely Gh Mohiuddin son of Gh Hassan Sheikh resident of Firdous Abad Batamaloo, approached PS Maisuma in an injured condition and submitted a written complaint stating therein that on 21st/22nd December, at around 0200 hours, while he was enroute to Budshah Chowk for sanitation work, he was wrongfully restrained by a group of assailants. The miscreants physically assaulted him and forcibly took some cash from his wallet before fleeing the scene,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 30/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Maisuma and investigation initiated.

“Through meticulous efforts, including analysis of CCTV footage and other technical evidence, the investigating team arrested the individuals involved in the commission of crime. They have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Dar Mut son of Khursheed Ahmad Dar resident of Nishat Khaki Mohalla, Srinagar, Tahir Ahmad Mir @90, son of Sonaullah Mir resident of Bangladesh Colony Rainawari, A/P Palpora Noorbagh, Srinagar and Arsalan Mushtaq Wandroo , son of Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Hasibath Rainawari, Srinagar,” police said.

North Kashmir will be most affected. Impact will be comparatively lesser in parts of central and south Kashmir.

ACS Shaleen Kabra escapes unhurt in Kulgam accident; Driver sustains minor injuries

Srinagar, Dec 31 : Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) and Financial Commissioner of J&K, Shaleen Kabra narrowly escaped injury on Tuesday evening after a vehicle he was traveling in overturned on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near the Khudwani area of Kulgam, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an accident occurred due to slippery road conditions on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. While ACS Kabra escaped unhurt, the driver sustained minor injuries.

The injured driver, identified as Nazir Ahmad, is said to have sustained only minor injuries.
