Teenage girl jumps into river Jhelum in Pulwama, rescued*
Srinagar, Feb 21:- A teenage girl jumped into the river Jhelum in Kakapora area of South Kashmir Pulwama district on Wednesday, however, she was rescued.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a 16 year old girl tried to commit su***de by jumping into river Jhelum in Kakapora area of Pulwama district.
They said that police along with locals rushed to the spot and rescued her.
They further added that said girl was rushed to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Kakapora for treatment where her condition is stated to be stable.
Meanwhile police have taken cognizance of the incident.(KS)

Well Care Medical Institute conducts free health camp at Govt. Higher Secondary school, Wangath Kangan;free medicines distributed.

More than 400 patients turn up in OPD.

Well Care Medical Institute (WMI), Ahmad Nagar,90 feet road,Srinagar conducted a free Health Camp OPD on Sunday.A total of 6 specialists of various branches of medicine provided free consultation in the OPDs. Among the doctors were Dr Mir Ibrahim Disoki, Diabetologist,Dr Basharat Consultant Medicine,Dr Nadia Bashir, Gynaecologist,Dr Adil Parvaiz Consultant General surgery,Dr Mudasir General Physician and Dr Iamun General Physician.

In the said camp free blood tests like Blood sugar and HbA1c was done and free medicines were also provided.More than 400 patients from different parts of the Kangan and adjoining areas visited the health camp.The doctors examined and treated the patients with the concerned ailments.

Tajamul Islam administrator and spokesperson of WMI said, "the camp was well organised, taking care of all the minute details and it received overwhelming response from the public. Some of the patients who needed further surgical intervention will be provided free treatment in the hospital under Ayushman Bharat scheme".

Dr Masood ul Hassan, Medical Director WMI said, "in our public out reach program we frequently conduct medical camps in the far off areas so that the local population can take benefit of these camps where various specialists are available under one roof".

He thanked the local administration,DDC Wangath, Principal and Vice Principal Govt Higer Secondary School,Wangath who gave the the local and logistical support for the success of the camp

Family of Inayat ahmad killed in an encounter, Assembled outside PCR Srinagar and claimed that he was not militant.

Meanwhile IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that during the operation, house owner’s son Inayat Ahmed, was asked to surrender but he along with militants opened fire at the security forces and got killed. “He was a hybrid militant,” IGP said.

The J&K Services Selection Board, in order to fill up the vacancies available under promotion quota at various level at Non-Gazetted Cadre and overcome stagnation amongst officials conducted the Departmental Promotion Committee meeting. The Meeting was held on 28.01.2022 under the Chairmanship of Mr. Khalid Jahangir, JKAS, Chairman, J&K Services Selection Board. Other members namely Shri Ashiq Hussain Lily, JKAS, Member, J&K Services Selection Board, Mr. Sachin Jamwal, KAS, Secretary, J&K Services Selection Board and Mr. Girdhari Lal Sharma, JKAS, Deputy Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department also participated in the said meeting.

The previous Departmental Promotion Committee meeting was held on 07.12.2020. The Departmental Promotion Committee during the meeting carefully examined each case viz-a-viz. the Recruitment Rules, eligibility, APR’s, Vigilance Clearance and Work and Conduct/Integrity of the officials and cleared proposal for promotion of officials in various categories viz. 01 to the level of Section Officer and 06 to the level of Head Assistants.

It needs to be emphasized that DPCs now have been made a regular feature to ensure effective management of human resources in the Services Selection Board, adding that efforts will continue to make functioning of the Services Selection Board as robust and dynamic, as is possible.

Masked men loot house gold, cash from house in Chichlora Baramulla
Baramulla, Jan 29 : Unknown masked men barged into a house in Chichlora area of Baramulla last night and according to the residents they took away gold and cash.
Official sources told GNS that four masked men entered inside the house of Bilal Ahmad Kutoo and Faizal Ahmad Mir son-in-law of Mohammad Ramzan Gojri at Chichlora.
The family is learnt to have informed the police that masked men were carrying three pistols and took their phones before collecting 2 gold rings and two kada tops besides Rs 52000 cash from the family members. They kept the phones near the house before running away.
A police officer told GNS that a case (FIR No. 11/2022) under section 7/25 IA Act and 382 IPC (committing of theft with an intension to hurt in case of resistance) has been registered in Police Station Kunzer.
He said that investigation has so far revealed that thieves may probably have been carrying toy pistols, however “all angles are being looked into,” the officer added. (GNS)
