A statue of Shivaji has been installed at Pangong in Ladakh, whereas it was Aurangzeb who integrated Ladakh into Hindustan. In fact, during Aurangzeb's time, the border between Ladakh and Tibet at Pangong was established.

Shin Pipin or Yakur Ki Kahani || Kashmiri Folklore || Kashmir Uncharted

In Kashmiri, the bird is called Shin Pipin. It is also known as Yakur, which is the Streaked Laughing-Thrush.

Famous for its melodic singing call, this bird holds a special place in Kashmiri folklore. Its name, Pipin, means "whistle," symbolizing its unique call that is believed to announce the arrival of snow in Kashmir.

In some places, this bird is also consumed as food. In the Pir Panjal region, it is called Sorhi, where certain winter days are dedicated to this bird. Additionally, one version of the famous Kashmiri song "Shin Pito Pito Bai Yito Yito" is also associated with this bird.

A harbinger of winter, Shin Pipin continues to charm with its beauty and significance in Kashmiri culture.

In 1894, Aga Syed Hussein became Kashmir's first matriculate, and a year later Ved Lal Zutshi became second matriculate from valley. Begum Zaffar Ali (daughter of Aga Syed Hussain) was the first woman matriculate of Kashmir. Agha Shahid Ali (poet) was her grandson.

Grave of the last sovereign ruler of Karna; Raja Sher Ahmed khan. Bomba chieftain Sher Ahmed launched resistance movement against 1846 Treaty of Amritsar which lasted upto 1852

He fought sikhs as well as Dogras.

When Gulab Singh crushed Sher Khan's forces, the latter reconciled with the Maharaja, who in 1852 conferred Doesar in South Kashmir as Jagir upon Sher Khan.

Sher Khan died soon afterwards. His last wish was to be buried in Gabra, his capital of Karnah, Maharaja did not allow it

He lies buried in the shrine of Hazrat Gaibi Shah at Yaripora, Kulgam. The raised portion on the side of the resting place of Hazrat Shah Sahab is the grave of Raja Sher Ahmad Khan, the Bomba chieftain.

Athwatoo, Bandipora:- Since ancient times, two main routes from Bandipura to the Dard regions were used: the Athwatoo route and the Razdan route. However, due to Razdan's higher elevation, it wasn’t preferred as much, while the Athwatoo-Dodhkot pass was more commonly used because horses could easily traverse #history
