*Leopard spotted in Baramulla locality, search ops launched, locals cautioned*

Baramulla, Dec 21 (KNO): A leopard entered a residential area in Janbazpora locality of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, creating panic among residents. The leopard, roaming in the village, was captured on a CCTV camera.

Soon after spotting the leopard, locals informed the authorities concerned, following which a search operation was launched.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that as soon as they got the information, teams were rushed to the spot to locate the animal.

He said that operation was jointly launched by Wildlife and Forest department and their priority was to ensure the safety of residents.

He added that the if the animal is not located, the search operation will be closed due to darkness and will be resumed with the first light of the day.

The authorities have also advised residents to exercise caution and avoid venturing outside during night hours—(KNO)

*World Cup Final: Australian spectator who breached security to meet Virat Kohli detained by Gujarat Police*

Ahmedabad, November 19: The Gujarat State Police detained the Australian spectator who was supporting Palestine and breached security and hugged Virat Kohli during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The man has been brought to the Chandkheda Police Station in Ahmedabad.

The man who breached the security and entered the field during India vs Australia Final match said, “My name is John…I am from Australia. I entered (the field) to meet Virat Kohli. I support Palestine…”

A security breach took place during the India vs Australia World Cup final at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

In a massive security breach, a Palestinian supporter invaded the field and hugged Virat Kohli during the 14th over of India’s innings; however, he was quickly removed by the security.

The Palestinian supporter was wearing a T-shirt with a free Palestine slogan and a mask with a Palestinian flag colour theme as he invaded the field during the ongoing final match.

The Israel-Hamas war began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a surprise assault on southern Israel. Hamas launched at least 5,000 rockets from Gaza, killing around 1,400 Israelis. Hamas also took many Israeli soldiers and civilians hostage in the Gaza Strip.

Israel responded with retaliatory strikes and declared war on Hamas the following day. The Israeli military began an offensive on the Palestinian enclave.

Amid deafening noise at a full house at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Australia skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl first against India in the World Cup final on Sunday.

The Indian team waltzed into the final unbeaten after playing 10 games, chasing five of the matches while defending totals in five.

On the other hand, Australia, after losing two games on the bounce at the start of the tournament, recovered to win eight consecutive matches thereafter to reach the final.

India will be looking to lift their third World Cup title, while Australia will be aiming to clinch their sixth trophy.

*MeT Forecasts Wet Weather In J&K For 2 Days*

Srinagar, July 13 (GNS): Weatherman on Wednesday forecast light to moderate rain and thunderstorm in Jammu and Kashmir for two days.

“Light to moderate rain/thunderstorm at many places of Jammu & Kashmir,” a meteorological department official said about the forecast, adding, “Same weather likely to continue for next 1-2 days.”

He said that during the last 24 hours till 0830 hours today, 3.6 mm of rainfall was recorded in Kupwara, 0.5mm in Gulmarg and 2.1 mm in Bhaderwah while Jammu had traces.

Meanwhile, Srinagar recorded a low of 18.8°C against 18.7°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.7°C above normal during this time of the year for the summer capital, he told GNS.

Qazigund recorded a low of 17.2°C against 16.0°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.7°C above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.

In Pahalgam, the mercury settled at 12.8°C same as on the previous night and it was 0.8°C above normal for the south Kashmir resort. Kokernag recorded a low of 16.6°C against 15.5°C last night and it was 0.7°C above normal for the place, he told Global News Service.

World famous Gulmarg resort recorded a low of 11.5°C against 10.5°C and it was 0.3°C below normal for the place. Kupwara town saw a low of 16.1°C against 17.1°C on previous night and it was 0.3°C ‘below’ usual for this time of the season, the official said.

Jammu recorded a low of 27.2°C, 2.4°C above normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 18.4°C, Batote 19.7°C, Katra 23.8°C while Bhadarwah had a minimum of 20.1°C, the official added. (GNS)

*Two boys die of electric shock in two different incidents in Kashmir*

Srinagar, June 1 Two boys in two separate incidents of electrocution died in Central and North Kashmir.

A 12-year-old boy died after receiving an electric shock at his home in Mamath hamlet of Central Kashmir's Budgam district on Wednesday.

Police sources said that a boy identified as Riyaan Ajaz Mir son of Ajaz Ahmad Mir shortly after receiving an electric shock was rushed to Budgam hospital by family members.

However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police in this regard have registered a case under relevant sections of law.
In yet another incident, a 17-year old boy identified as Rudaiz Javaid Lone of Vuhlutra Rafiabad area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district also received an electric shock at his home.
The boy was taken to Sub District Hospital Rohama where doctors referred him to GMC Baramulla. The boy succumbed to the injuries in the hospital.
A case in this regard has been registered at police station Panzallah Sopore.

*B'la gr***de attack: Slain man's family protest, block highway in Rajouri*

Rajouri, May 18 : The villagers in Bakhar area of Rajouri have blocked Jammu Rajouri Poonch national highway over death of a local man killed in gr***de explosion on Tuesday at a newly opened wine shop in Baramulla.

Locals told news agency—Kashmir News Observer that the family members and other villagers of deceased have blocked the main highway connecting Rajouri and Poonch districts with Jammu provincial headquarter and stalled vehicular movement.

The protesters are demanding an ex gratia of twenty five lakh rupees for the family of deceased and employment to one of the family members.
The protesters said that the deceased was father of four daughter and one minor son and was sole bread earner in family.

Kupwara, May 11, : An elderly man died after hit by a Sumo in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a speeding Sumo (JK05B-3981) hit an elderly man in Ganapora area of Kupwara falling in the jurisdiction of police station Kralgund.

The victim identified as Muhammad Yousuf Bhat of Ganapora village was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have seized the Sumo, arrested the driver, and registered a case under relevant sections of law.

*More rains forecast as night temp falls at most places in J&K*

Srinagar, May 5: Amid forecast for more rain and thunderstorms in next 48 hours, night temperature recorded a drop at most places in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar received 11.3 mm of rain in the 24 hours till 0830 hours today and recorded a low of 11.1°C against 11.8°C on the previous night. The temperature, he said, was 1.4°C above normal during this time of the year for the summer capital.

Qazigund had 12.0 mm of rain during the time and recorded a low of 9.8°C against 9.6°C on the previous night. The temperature was 1.3°C above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.

Pahalgam had 6.4 mm of rain and recorded a minimum of 7.8°C against 6.0°C last night. The temperature was 2.9°C above normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir during this time of the season, he said.

Kokernag received 12.3mm of rain and recorded a low of 9.7°C against 10.5°C on the previous night. It was 1.3°C above normal during this time of the season for the place in south Kashmir, the official said.

Gulmarg received 28.6mm of rain and recorded a low of 1.6°C against 4.2°C on the previous night, the official said. While 4.3°C is normal for the world famous skiing resort during this time of the season, the official said that the temperature was 2.7°C ‘below’ normal for the place in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Kupwara town in north Kashmir received 4.3 mm of rain and recorded a low of 9.6°C against 10.5°C on the previous night. The temperature was 1.2°C above normal for the district,

Jammu received 10.6 mm of rain and recorded a low of 22.6°C against 21.2°C on the previous night, the official said. The temperature was 2.6°C below normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said. Banihal received 15.6mm of rain and recorded a low of 10.1°C; Batote had 16.8mm of rain and recorded a minimum of 16.8°C while Bhaderwah had 13.0 mm of rain and recorded a low of 8.4°C, the official said.

*PTI worker, Noor Alam Khan scuffle at private hotel*

ISLAMABAD: A PTI worker on Tuesday scuffled with their dissident lawmaker Noor Alam Khan at a private hotel.

Noor Alam was having iftar at the private hotel with PPP leaders Nadeem Afzal Chan, Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, and Faisal Karim Kundi when the incident occurred.

According to eyewitnesses, a PTI worker abused the MNA in Pashto and was told by Khan not to do so as it was a “family event”.

Onlookers further said that despite the MNA’s appeal to maintain decorum, the PTI worker continued to hurl abuses at the lawmaker.

The eyewitness said that when the PTI worker did not stop hurling abuses, Noor lost his cool and punched him. This led to a scuffle between the two. They added that PPP leaders Khokhar and Kundi also beat up the PTI worker.

Noor Alam was among the 20 dissident MNAs who had decided to support the Opposition in its no-confidence motion against their party leader Imran Khan.

The PTI has filed a reference against the dissident MNAs under Article 63(A). However, Noor Alam and the other dissident MNAs did not cast their vote against Imran Khan in the no-trust motion as the Opposition no longer required the numbers with the MQM-P flipping in its favour.

Noor Alam, a former PPP member had joined the PTI ahead of the last elections, after joining the Imran Khan-led party he won the NA-27 (Peshawar-I) seat in the 2018 General Elections.

This was not the first time that Noor Alam came under fire for his decision to go against Imran Khan. On March 19, two people — reportedly belonging to the PTI — threatened him for showing reservations against the PTI chief ahead of the voting on the no-confidence motion.

In a viral video, the two men could be seen abusing and threatening the PTI’s dissident lawmaker at a hotel in Islamabad. Sources privacy to the matter had said that the two men were the leaders of the PTI's Canada chapter — who came to Islamabad to attend the overseas convention.

اور وہ پیغمبر تمہیں یہ حکم کبھی نہیں دیتا کہ تم فرشتوں اور پیغمبروں کو رب بنا لو، کیا وہ تمہارے مسلمان ہو جانے کے بعد (اب) تمہیں کفر کا حکم دے گا۔

[3:81]
"وَ اِذۡ اَخَذَ اللّٰہُ مِیۡثَاقَ النَّبِیّٖنَ لَمَاۤ اٰتَیۡتُکُمۡ مِّنۡ کِتٰبٍ وَّ حِکۡمَۃٍ ثُمَّ جَآءَکُمۡ رَسُوۡلٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَکُمۡ لَتُؤۡمِنُنَّ بِہٖ وَ لَتَنۡصُرُنَّہٗ ؕ قَالَ ءَاَقۡرَرۡتُمۡ وَ اَخَذۡتُمۡ عَلٰی ذٰلِکُمۡ اِصۡرِیۡ ؕ قَالُوۡۤا اَقۡرَرۡنَا ؕ قَالَ فَاشۡہَدُوۡا وَ اَنَا مَعَکُمۡ مِّنَ الشّٰہِدِیۡنَ ﴿۸۱﴾
اور (اے محبوب! وہ وقت یاد کریں) جب اﷲ نے انبیاءسے پختہ عہد لیا کہ جب میں تمہیں کتاب اور حکمت عطا کر دوں پھر تمہارے پاس وہ (سب پر عظمت والا) رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تشریف لائے جو ان کتابوں کی تصدیق فرمانے والا ہو جو تمہارے ساتھ ہوں گی تو ضرور بالضرور ان پر ایمان لاؤ گے اور ضرور بالضرور ان کی مدد کرو گے، فرمایا: کیا تم نے اِقرار کیا اور اس (شرط) پر میرا بھاری عہد مضبوطی سے تھام لیا؟ سب نے عرض کیا: ہم نے اِقرار کر لیا، فرمایا کہ تم گواہ ہو جاؤ اور میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ گواہوں میں سے ہوں۔
[3:82]
"فَمَنۡ تَوَلّٰی بَعۡدَ ذٰلِکَ فَاُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الۡفٰسِقُوۡنَ ﴿۸۲﴾
(اب پوری نسل آدم کے لئے تنبیہاً فرمایا:) پھر جس نے اس (اقرار) کے بعد روگردانی کی پس وہی لوگ نافرمان ہوں گے-
[3:83]
"اَفَغَیۡرَ دِیۡنِ اللّٰہِ یَبۡغُوۡنَ وَ لَہٗۤ اَسۡلَمَ مَنۡ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ طَوۡعًا وَّ کَرۡہًا وَّ اِلَیۡہِ یُرۡجَعُوۡنَ ﴿۸۳﴾
کیا یہ اﷲ کے دین کے سوا کوئی اور دین چاہتے ہیں اور جو کوئی بھی آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے اس نے خوشی سے یا لاچاری سے (بہرحال) اسی کی فرمانبرداری اختیار کی ہے اور سب اسی کی طرف لوٹائے جائیں گے۔

[3:84]
"قُلۡ اٰمَنَّا بِاللّٰہِ وَ مَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ عَلَیۡنَا وَ مَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ عَلٰۤی اِبۡرٰہِیۡمَ وَ اِسۡمٰعِیۡلَ وَ اِسۡحٰقَ وَ یَعۡقُوۡبَ وَ الۡاَسۡبَاطِ وَ مَاۤ اُوۡتِیَ مُوۡسٰی وَ عِیۡسٰی وَ النَّبِیُّوۡنَ مِنۡ رَّبِّہِمۡ ۪ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَیۡنَ اَحَدٍ مِّنۡہُمۡ ۫ وَ نَحۡنُ لَہٗ مُسۡلِمُوۡنَ ﴿۸۴﴾
آپ فرمائیں: ہم اﷲ پر ایمان لائے ہیں اور جو کچھ ہم پر اتارا گیا ہے اور جو کچھ ابراہیم اور اسماعیل اور اسحاق اور یعقوب (علیھم السلام) اور ان کی اولاد پر اتارا گیا ہے اور جو کچھ موسٰی اور عیسٰی اور جملہ انبیاء (علیھم السلام) کو ان کے رب کی طرف سے عطا کیا گیا ہے (سب پر ایمان لائے ہیں)، ہم ان میں سے کسی پر بھی ایمان میں فرق نہیں کرتے اور ہم اسی کے تابع فرمان ہیں۔

[3:85]
"وَ مَنۡ یَّبۡتَغِ غَیۡرَ الۡاِسۡلَامِ دِیۡنًا فَلَنۡ یُّقۡبَلَ مِنۡہُ ۚ وَ ہُوَ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ مِنَ الۡخٰسِرِیۡنَ ﴿۸۵﴾
اور جو کوئی اسلام کے سوا کسی اور دین کو چاہے گا تو وہ اس سے ہرگز قبول نہیں کیا جائے گا، اور وہ آخرت میں نقصان اٹھانے والوں میں سے ہوگا۔
[3:86]
"کَیۡفَ یَہۡدِی اللّٰہُ قَوۡمًا کَفَرُوۡا بَعۡدَ اِیۡمَانِہِمۡ وَ شَہِدُوۡۤا اَنَّ الرَّسُوۡلَ حَقٌّ وَّجَآءَہُمُ الۡبَیِّنٰتُ ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ لَا یَہۡدِی الۡقَوۡمَ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۸۶﴾
اﷲ ان لوگوں کو کیونکر ہدایت فرمائے جو ایمان لانے کے بعد کافر ہو گئے حالانکہ وہ اس امر کی گواہی دے چکے تھے کہ یہ رسول سچا ہے اور ان کے پاس واضح نشانیاں بھی آچکی تھیں، اور اﷲ ظالم قوم کو ہدایت نہیں فرماتا۔

[3:87]
"اُولٰٓئِکَ جَزَآؤُہُمۡ اَنَّ عَلَیۡہِمۡ لَعۡنَۃَ اللّٰہِ وَ الۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃِ وَ النَّاسِ اَجۡمَعِیۡنَ ﴿ۙ۸۷﴾
ایسے لوگوں کی سزا یہ ہے کہ ان پر اﷲ کی اور فرشتوں کی اور تمام انسانوں کی لعنت پڑتی رہے۔
[3:88]
"خٰلِدِیۡنَ فِیۡہَا ۚ لَا یُخَفَّفُ عَنۡہُمُ الۡعَذَابُ وَ لَا ہُمۡ یُنۡظَرُوۡنَ ﴿ۙ۸۸﴾
وہ اس پھٹکار میں ہمیشہ (گرفتار) رہیں گے اور ان سے اس عذاب میں کمی نہیں کی جائے گی اور نہ انہیں مہلت دی جائے گے۔
[3:89]
"اِلَّا الَّذِیۡنَ تَابُوۡا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ ذٰلِکَ وَ اَصۡلَحُوۡا ۟ فَاِنَّ اللّٰہَ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِیۡمٌ ﴿۸۹﴾
سوائے ان لوگوں کے جنہوں نے اس کے بعد توبہ کر لی اور (اپنی) اصلاح کر لی، تو بیشک اﷲ بڑا بخشنے والا مہربان ہے۔
[3:90]
"اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡا بَعۡدَ اِیۡمَانِہِمۡ ثُمَّ ازۡدَادُوۡا کُفۡرًا لَّنۡ تُقۡبَلَ تَوۡبَتُہُمۡ ۚ وَ اُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الضَّآلُّوۡنَ ﴿۹۰﴾
بیشک جن لوگوں نے اپنے ایمان کے بعد کفر کیا پھر وہ کفر میں بڑھتے گئے ان کی توبہ ہرگز قبول نہیں کی جائے گے، اور وہی لوگ گمراہ ہیں۔

*Driver killed as tractor turns turtle in Handwara*

Handwara, Mar 17 : A driver was killed on Thursday after a tractor he was driving turned turtle at Kunnel-Ashpora area Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer that a tractor turned turtle at Kunnel-Ashpora area of Handwara this afternoon, resulting in on spot death of the driver.

The official identified the deceased driver as Irshad Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Akber Lone of Kunnel Ashpora.

"After legal medical formalities, the body will be handed over to his family members for last rites," the official said, adding that police has registered a case in this regard

Srinagar, Mar 15 : Two persons were killed and as many others injured when they came under earthslide during extraction near Waigila area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.

Official sources told that four persons came under the earthslide during its extraction. The deceased have been identified as Ali Mohammad Malik son of Farooq Ahmad Malik and Ghulam Mohammad Mir son of Ali Mohammad Mir.

Two injured persons have been hospitalised and their condition is stable, the they added.

A police officer confirmed the incident to and said that further investigations are underway.
