“I have seen your video”

When I read those words on my phone, I couldn’t believe it.

It was yesterday’s evening, and I had just came from my badminton match.

The message was from someone really important—. !

I’ve looked up to him for a long time.

He told me that he saw one of my YouTube videos a long time ago.

Back then, he liked it but couldn’t find me to tell me.

Yesterday, he saw one of my Instagram reels and thought, “Is this the same person I saw on YouTube?”

That’s when he decided to message me.

When I saw his message, I replied right away.

Later today morning, he called me, and we talked for 11 minutes.

I was so happy!

He told me he liked my videos and appreciated my work.

His kind words made me feel really good and proud.

Sometimes, I get mean comments on Instagram, but I don’t let them bother me.

What matters most to me is when someone appreciates my work.

And his words really inspired me.

I had stopped posting videos on YouTube because I wasn’t consistent, but now I feel like starting again.

His support gave me the push I needed to try harder and do better.

Thank you, Sir, for believing in me.

Your words mean a lot, and I’m excited to make more videos and share my journey with everyone!

“Guess What? This Scooty Is My Best Buddy!”

Do you see this scooty in the picture?

It’s not just a scooty—it’s super special to me!

Want to know why?

Because I bought it with my own hard work.

Cool, right?

I remember the first day I got it.

Oh, I was so happy!

I worked really hard to save money for it.

This scooty has been with me on so many adventures.

We’ve gone on long rides up big hills!

Sometimes, my friends and I would ride to get chai at night, and it was so much fun.

See the little scratches on it?

They’re like tiny stories—one from a big bump on the road, and another from an exciting ride in the rain.

Every scratch reminds me of a fun memory.

It’s not just a scooty for me.

It’s my buddy that’s been with me in happy times, tough times, and everything in between.

Don’t you think it’s awesome to have something like that?

Where am I?

It was a day we had all been waiting for—our ship visit!

We were so excited! Everyone wore yellow helmets and white uniforms, making us look like tiny captains.

The ship was huge, and we couldn’t stop smiling and pointing at everything.

In this photo, all my friends are posing together, but you won’t see me because I was behind the camera.

I wanted to make sure this special moment was captured forever.

That day, we felt like real sailors.

It was the start of our big adventure to one day sail across the world.

ChiefOfficer would have punished us!

It was 1700 hours, and the bridge was bathed in the golden glow of a sunset.

The sea stretched endlessly, with the horizon melting into shades of orange and crimson.

But for us two cadets, this time wasn’t just about admiring the view—it was about sneaking in a quick photo.

As part of the 1600–2000 hrs watch, we had to draw the curtains right before the sun dipped below the horizon.

The purpose?

To block reflections on the wheelhouse glass, making it easier to spot navigation lights and targets at night.

Around this time, the Chief Officer would step behind the curtains to check emails on the ship’s computer.

That gave us 5–10 golden minutes.

One of us would keep an eye on the bridge door while holding the camera, the other quickly pose and click the perfect shot of the sunset pose through the windows.

The adrenaline of clicking photos in secret was a rush.

It wasn’t just about capturing a beautiful sunset; it was about capturing the fleeting moments of freedom amidst strict routines.

For those few minutes, it wasn’t just a sunset—it was our little slice of rebellion, etched forever in the memory of our cadetship.

“I spent my entire first salary on a single purchase.”

It sounds crazy, doesn’t it?

But that’s exactly what I did.

Every single rupee I earned in my first job went toward buying my Kindle.

Here’s how it happened.

I joined my first ship in late March—somewhere between the 23rd and 25th.

It was a surreal feeling, stepping into the world I had always dreamed of.

But the real thrill came when my first salary got credited on the 1st of April: â‚č7,000 for the 6-7 days I worked that month.

I didn’t even hesitate.

I used the entire amount to buy the Kindle I had been eyeing for so long.

Why?

Because I knew I needed it.

Carrying physical books onboard wasn’t practical, and the idea of having an entire library in my pocket felt like the perfect solution.

That Kindle wasn’t just a device—it was my first investment in myself.

And looking back, I don’t regret a single rupee spent.

It gave me knowledge, escape, and a companion for the sea.

What’s the first thing you bought with your salary?

Let me know—I’d love to hear your story!

Did I win?!

The shuttlecock was mid-air, and my senior—a player I’d never managed to beat—was ready.

He wasn’t just my opponent; he was my mentor, my friend, and one of the best players I’d seen in school.

For years, every game against him had been the same story: he’d win effortlessly while I walked off, determined but defeated.

But this time, it was different.

Over the past two months, I practiced every shot, every smash, and every return.

And when the day came for our friendly match, I walked onto the court more prepared than ever, alongside my partner.

Point after point, the game unfolded like a thriller.

My senior’s moves were as sharp as ever, but this time, I was ready.

For every smash, I had a return; for every drop, I had the perfect lift.

And in that final moment—when we won the match—I saw the smile on his face that said, “Well done.”

This wasn’t just a game.

It was a lesson in growth, friendship, and how competition can push you to be better.

Have you ever gone up against someone who inspired you to improve? Tell me your story!

“Are we allowed to carry guns onboard ships?”

Standing on the deck with a loaded M416 rifle wasn’t part of my regular onboard routine.

But when you’re heading to a high-risk area like Yemen, everything changes.

Yemen is classified as a high-risk area for a reason.

To ensure the safety of the ship and crew, security personnel are hired and armed for such voyages.

These guards stay with us, conduct bridge watches, and maintain constant vigilance.

As for us, the crew, we’re strictly restricted from stepping onto the deck unless absolutely necessary.

One question I often get from aspiring seafarers is, ‘Are crew members allowed to carry guns onboard ships?’

The answer is no—except in situations like this, where professional security teams bring their own weapons.

And yes, that’s an M416 rifle in my hands—a moment I’ll never forget.

Life at sea isn’t just about picturesque sunsets and calm waters. It’s also about navigating the unexpected.

Share this with your Merchant Navy aspiring buddies and let them know some facts.

Festive season and my homesicknessđŸ˜Ș

It was 2021, and one quiet October evening onboard ship, I felt two things tugging at my heart.

One part of me was happy.

I was living my dream, working in the Merchant Navy, traveling to places I had only seen in pictures.

Every day was different, with new challenges and adventures. I felt proud of the uniform I wore and the skills I had learned.

I was one of the lucky ones who got to live a life on the sea, just like I had always imagined.

But there was another part of me that felt a bit sad.

While I was here, floating somewhere between distant lands, my family was back home, celebrating festivals with laughter, food, and warmth.

I imagined them decorating the house, sharing sweets, and telling stories. I could almost hear their voices and see their smiling faces, but they were far away,

and I couldn’t be there with them.

I would smile, thinking of how lucky I was, yet feel a small ache in my chest knowing that I was missing those special moments.

I loved my job, but I missed my family.

On those evenings, with the sea stretching endlessly before me, I realized that this was part of my journey—learning to love both the life I had chosen and the people I had to leave behind for a little while.

And so, as the stars began to shine above, I would take a deep breath, feeling grateful and a bit homesick all at once.

I reminded myself that one day, I would be back with my family, sharing stories of my adventures at sea, and that thought made everything feel a little better.

Do you feel the same?
