GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday in Barhampur, Nagaon destroyed a total of 58,000 seized cough syrups. Also, other seized contraband items including he**in, o***m and g***a worth Rs. 36 crore were burned in the drugs disposal programme.

The illegal cough syrups and drugs were seized from different parts of Assam.

“We are going to burn 9.733 kg he**in, 253 kg o***m, 977 gm o***m, 253 kg G***a, 2,71,908 tablets,” said Assam CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

It is to be noted that Assam Police seized drugs worth Rs. 700 crore in the past two months. The seized contraband has been planned to be destroyed in two days, on the first day the drive took place on Diphu and Golaghat and today( July 18), the drive is going on at Nagaon and Hojai district of Assam.

চলে গেলেন লোহারবন্দ বাসিন্দা প্রাক্তন শিক্ষক ও সমাজকর্মী নিরেন্দু সেন (টুটু)।

চলে গেলেন লোহারবন্দ বাসিন্দা প্রাক্তন শিক্ষক ও সমাজকর্মী নিরেন্দু সেন ।নতুন প্রজন্মের কাছে তিনি এক শিক্ষার প্রতিষ্ঠান ছিলেন।তিনি একজন শিক্ষক এবং একজন মানুষ হিসেবে খুবই লোকপ্রিয় ছিলেন। কিছু দিন পূর্বে কোভিড আক্রান্ত হয়ে শিলচর মেডিকেল কলেজে ভর্তি হয়েছিলেন পরে উনাকে আইসিইউ তে রাখা হয়েছিল। যদিও কোভিড নিগেটিভ হয়েছিল কিন্তু পোস্ট কোভিডের কবল থেকে রক্ষা পাওয়া যায়নি। গতকাল রাত্রি ১টায় ভেন্টিলেশনে নেওয়া হয় এবং এই যাত্রাটি ছিল উনার শেষ যাত্রা। আজ ১২ টায় তিনি শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন।

তাঁর মৃত্যু জনমনে এক শোকের ছায়া নিয়ে এসেছে।
